when I went to Cuba and talked to some of the young locals, a lot of them were educated.
they studied being engineers and doctors. However, due to the government having a hand in everything - they said it was actually beneficial for them to work in the tourism industry rather than being engineers or so.
One dude was teaching himself the Swedish language because his dream was to go to Sweden.
Cuban people are really humble
