Can we please stop using the word "Bigot". Its like everyone just learned this word as of last year and they try to throw it around as much as possible for who knows what reasons. To me it always seems like the people that do use it are the ones who sound like they are trying their hardest to belittle somebody else. Basically it sounds extremely forced and corny when its said so maybe we could find a different word to use when we decide to complain about someone else.

I just feel like it makes the person using the word look like they're trying to hard and its really strange to me. Why not just call them a dumbass or an idiot? You know classic insults.. not the trendy one that people just learned...

no it doesn't mean the same thing exactly but you could definitely call a bigot an idiot or a dumbass and get the point across, and yes it is trendy. I have noticed people using it a lot more in real life as well as online this last year. Most of the time it comes across as them just finding a chance to use the word.

A bigot does not have the same effect/connotation as those words at all man :lol:. It's used to describe certain types of intolerance,those other words are much more general. It's also been in use for a long time as well,I've heard it used many times before the last year. Maybe your perceived increased exposure to it just coincides with the recent racially charged climate in general over the last year and a half. I'm not sure where the real issue lies...

no need to use the laugh face man. I'm just trying to understand why this word has gained so much popularity recently. I know what it means i just don't like the way it sounds and how its tossed around in every conversation. Im just saying if i come across somebody who doesn't like a certain person, idea, race, or religion for no apparent reason then i would call that person an idiot. it seems way more straight forward to me

Use the word bigot when necessary.

The word bigot is trendy? Is it new? If someone has just learned the word bigot I feel sorry for them. But I have faith that the people in this thread know, and have known for many, many years what bigot means. Perhaps this word seems trendy because you haven't been very active in this here thread, but it isn't trendy, at least no more trendy than racist, in fact it is classic like dumb*** or idiot.

I mean theres no problem with me saying that i think it sounds ******ed when people use it and there shouldn't be a problem if you decided to complain about the use of  thot or turn up either. Might as well bring it up if you don't like it. It doesn't hurt anybody its just an opinion. I also think when someone uses the laughing icons they think they're somehow the person in the right and its really childish. its my opinion versus yours and I'm not laughing at you I'm just trying to understand why its being overused.

I like that you said it is classic like dumbass or idiot and i didn't mean that i thought it was a new word or anything. I've definitely heard it used plenty of times before. i just feel like its being used so much now and people are so quick to use it in any situation. I also just really don't like the way it sounds... it sounds like you're just trying to hard to insult someone. thats just my opinion..
