I think Forte should be their main target if they can get him at a low cost. I feel like he fits what NE does very well and he can be productive enough at this age, especially if we also have Dion Lewis back there.

I've heard Bilal Powell get mentioned as well, which I wouldn't mind, although I don't think the Jets let him leave. Outside of those 2, I have no idea who'd actually be available as idk if Doug Martin, Lamar Miller, Alfred Morris or Bobby Rainey are actually options for them.

It looks like Marvin Jones was considering NE, but went to Detroit instead. Maybe Sanu makes the right choice :nerd:

at RB...I do think we're OK. if we get Forte, great. but i'm not looking to pay a ton for him at all. Powell is a pretty great fit from what I've read and seen and would be considerably cheaper. plus we really handicap the Jets.

I know it was discussed in the NFL thread, but what was Gronk's tweet all about :nerd:

I'm not sure if he was expressing his displeasure with the structure of his extension or stating that he's essentially taking a pay cut, but he's not putting in work just for the money.

It may be irrelevant either way, but I thought it was interesting.

was it you or amarano amarano that said he probably meant he doesn't work hard for money, he works hard to win and be a champion? i think that was spot on and what he meant. maybe a slight and the most minor possible jab at the org, but i think he meant he's here to win, not for $.

I believe that was @amarano and what I was thinking as well.
yea that was me.

i said thats what he meant and and that hes not the sharpest knife in the drawer which is why it came across convoluted on his part.

btw Forte to the Jets

 very upset about this.

I would have been fine with Forte to Green Bay, but not the Jets :smh:

If they keep Bilal Powell too :smh:

Ramon Humber :smokin

I say that sarcastically as I don't know him, but watch him become a key contributor next season.

Forte signing with the Jets :smh:

yeah this is annoying...but as far as us having to deal with him, i'm not too concerned. but still don't like them getting a guy like this. they are letting Jeremy Kerley walk who has always killed us i feel like. so good news there. still got Decker and Marshall to deal with tho :smh:

One small plus about being quiet during the first days of FA...seems like we'll have plenty of space/$ to lock up some of the more important guys on D long term like Dont'a/Collins and maybe Chandler(doubt it with the deals DE's are getting though, dude is gonna get PAID by someone  :smh:).

I doubt Gronk meant anything that deep in his tweet...I hope . If he's feeling iffy about it,he should just look at the franchise guy that's been playing on a bargain deal for most of his career . I would understand though if he was pissed,I would be too if I saw scrubs getting paid way more but he shouldn't forget that his extension set the market for TE's last season.

Gronk is the ultimate bro. No way he really wants to be separated from TB12, Edelman and Ammendola.

He just slipped up and tweeted aloud.

chris hogan is nice but we really need a legit outside guy that can work the sidelines and take it deep now and then. i don't think Hogan is that dude, but i could be wrong. solid player though, no doubt he would help.

Aaron Dobson :nerd:

i just dont see the point in paying hogan that if anything.

might as well have just kept lafell.

i know he sucked last year but he was hurt majority of it, and its not like they threw to him anyway.

not much is gonna change with Hogan.

i would have liked to see them get Wallace honestly and make turn him into a YAC machine, he has wheels.

Hogan seems to be a solid 3rd/4th WR. He always seemed to be wide open against us in past games .

Wallace could be interesting for cheap and I was even wondering about Vic Cruz if he's healthy :nerd:

Hoping they sign someone else at the position before moving on cause Rod Streater ain't it...

Also no news about RB's besides Starks? I'd prefer a couple of guys before him tbh

We really need a deep threat to stretch the field, big plays off the play action

Gonna also need a solid RB for those play actions to work .

I like Blount but he hasn't really cut it the last 2 seasons besides from when he plays Indy

Need a new workhorse to work in tandem with the pass catching/3rd down backs in D-Lew and White

Jones for a guard and a 2nd rounder?

What do y'all think?

Maybe we felt like he wasn't going to be worth the big contract he's about to get and decided to get compensation for him.

clears up cap space to take care of the real cogs on defense. and gives us another 2nd rounder to help deal with no 1st. a little.

as for cooper...bust to date. but let's see what Scar can do

y'all already know i wasn't a big chandler fan to start with

it aint bad. depends how we use that 2nd pick. would be pretty crazy to package both our 2nds and get a top 1st this year

but yea we were losing jones anyway, especially after that drug fiasco thing, plus collins was more important to keep money for.

i just dont like how supposedly the OL coming from Zona is basically being called a bust.

especially when we NEED OL

Woah I take a quick nap after getting home only to wake up to Chandler getting traded to the Cards what?!?!?! :wow: :wow: :wow:

Guess he would've been gone anyway given what he's gonna be worth and it's nice to have him out of conference but still pretty shocked. I know he could be invisible for stretches at times but when he was on it he was one of the better pass rushers in the league last season.

Hopefully this means that BB is gonna be able to lock up our 2 crown jewels on D in Dont'a and Collins
