Hellz yes. At first wanted green bay but after seeing Atlanta blow their doors off, I'm glad we get to play NFC's best and the best offense in the league this yr.

This is a great and interesting read, details I've never heard/knew about. I knew it was a real possiblity obviously but we were really this close to moving to Hartford smh.

Annnnddd, Goodell played a big part in the pats staying at foxborough. Crazy.

Thanks rog, I guess but it's more of what you've done for us recently and you're up high on my ish list still.
Although if we bring home Lombardi #5, maybe I'll let bygones be bygones, idk, I haven't decided.
Scumbag rog.

If the Pats moved to Hartford, would the Boston/Providence crowd still have supported the team?

Srs question.

Well I still wouldve supported them, not like they moved across the country or something and last time i checked CT is still a part of new england lol.
It wasn't like Kraft wanted to move. He was literally forced to and all the way throughout the moving process he was still looking for a way to stay in mass/foxboro.
No doubt it would've sucked if they moved to Hartford and I was upset about the plans to relocate but no way in hell was I gonna drop them for another team.
IMO think the majority of people felt the same way and CT/hartford didn't and still don't have a professional team. I mean, they're still gonna be called NE pats as opposed to LA chargers.
Would like to hear other guys opinions/thoughts about sticking by them if they moved.

Really interesting stuff from Jeff Howe on his podcast today. He talked about the different ways the patriots defense can match up with the falcons offense. I agree with him that this will be one of, if not the biggest, factors that decide this game. If you have the time, I encourage you to give it a listen. I'm curious what your guys thoughts are.

i dunno man the more he talked about it the more i didn't even know what they should do lol

but for real i like putting butler on someone besides Julio and having him lock them up whether it be sanu or gabriel.

i don't like putting chung on gabriel i think that's a mismatch.

i like the idea of having someone besides butler cover julio and having all the safety help they can get. you have to have safety help on julio regardless so why X out your best CB like butler with safety help when he can cover someone by himself.

if it were me, and this is only me thinking about it for 5 mins.
i'd out rowe on julio based on size and have mccourty shadow him the entire game.

butler on gabriel. mainly because of the size comparison and speed.

and have logan on sanu with occasional help from Chung.

something like that.

it'll all honestly come down to how well chung and mccourty play.

I agree @amarano...if they're giving help over the top on Julio (which they definitely should IMO), then they shouldn't "waste" their best CB as well. Falcons have too many weapons to defend. Personally, I like Butler on Sanu. I think he shuts him down. Then, I'd put Rowe on Julio, with a safety over the top. Rowe has the best size of any of our CB, but not the type of speed to keep up with Gabriel. That leaves Logan Ryan on Gabriel. With the way Logan has been playing lately, I'm confident he can win that matchup as well. The RB are a different story. I'm hoping Chung will be able to contribute in the run/short pass game since they don't really have a viable TE to deal with.

I see the tide has change since two weeks ago after the SB teams were set

In heavy favor of the Falcons

This game can't come quick enough lol

Last week I heard that the Falcons weren't getting enough credit or respect and I feel like that turned around to the Patriots not getting enough credit or respect.

Not true AT ALL.

Most articles I've read this week are predicting you guys to win.

Not true AT ALL.

Most articles I've read this week are predicting you guys to win.

To be fair, I've tried to stay away from reading a ton of predictions; I guess the few I've read or heard were all leaning towards Atlanta. Most of those cited Atlanta's running game being a problem for New England and Atlanta's defense being underrated and able to stop New England's passing attack.

I truly think the game is a toss up though; that's why I've stayed away from the analysis of experts.

Just the other day, Bill Barnwell wrote a 7,000 word article on how the Patriots are a nightmare matchup for the Falcons and will win easily. Then there was another one where 5 different position coaches were asked who they thought was going to win, 4/5 said New England.

I agree with you though, this game is a toss up.

as big of a fan as i am...full disclosure this matchup scares me and i have a hard time seeing us win for a couple reasons.

1- atlanta is pure brutal talent thats how they win. new england wins based off of preparation, coaching and discipline.

i hate the whole superbowl process with the media festivities, theres too many distractions. this i feel like gives the falcons the advantage.

not to take away from their coaching or leadership but its not as good as new england, but like i said theres so many distractions i have a hard time believing even the extra week gives the pats a clear head to gameplan and have the players execute it.

im a full believer in the whole corny "in bill we trust". at this point whether youre a "hater" or a fan you pretty much have to buy into it at some degree.

i dont doubt bill and the coaches will implement a plan needed to succeed in winning, i just have my doubts on this group for whatever reason following through.

and 2- the smart move would be to move the chains with the running game thus keeping the falcons off the field as much as possible.

i like our 3 RBs and im a huge fan of blount, but he hasnt been utilized in that degree in over a month. i hope he dion and james can come in with no rust ready to go.

also with dion i wish we had more time to implement him into the offense. i know hes done great off his injury but you can never have enough time to get ready.

as big of a brady fan as i am and how awesome it would be to see him win #5 by throwing lights out 300+ with 4 TDs...i know thats not the formula for the win...this teams best shot at winning is coming in and making ZERO mistakes against this falcons team on both sides of the ball. i just hope the super bowl hoopla doesn take away from that. because if it were a regular week of preparation with no outside distractions i wouldnt be as worried.
