that 3rd and 15 completion to Amendola was REALLY impressive. moving around to buy time and then a strike to Danny. real good all around. he took a pretty good shot right after releasing that ball, too

Hightower is out for this weekend. knee is acting up on him. sit this dude and get him healthy for the meat of the schedule, bill. need him out there when the games really matter.

Gronk watch is on. was limited in practice all week so we'll see what they do this weekend.

Here is the full injury report.

Out:
CB Eric Rowe (ankle)

Doubtful:
LB Dont'a Hightower (knee)

Questionable:
CB Malcolm Butler (ankle)
RT Marcus Cannon (knee)
G Jonathan Cooper (foot)
DE Trey Flowers (shoulder)
TE Rob Gronkowski (hamstring)
WR Chris Hogan (shoulder)
RG Shaq Mason (hand)
LB Shea McClellin (shoulder)
LT Nate Solder (hamstring)

how are we already getting nailed this bad

Yikes. That list grew since the last time I saw it. I read that Butler should be good to go, but losing Hightower is a big deal to me. Hopefully that injury isn't one that lingers for too long. In regards to the Gronk situation, while it's starting to worry me a bit, I kind of assumed that it was possible we'd see him return with Brady. If he isn't right by then, I'll start to worry a little more.

If we're able to roll out the same squad as last week minus Hightower, I like our chances still vs. Miami.

Their defensive line does scare me however.

Patriots starting o-line in warmups: LT Nate Solder, LG Joe Thuney, C David Andrews, RG Shaq Mason, RT Marcus Cannon.

welp. Jimmy G was nice while he lasted. next two weeks just got REAL interesting. this 2nd half could get REAL interesting, as well.

barely held on to that one.

2nd half defense was disappointing to see. very little pressure on Tannehill overall and poor poor coverage in the secondary (granted, they have a tough WR group to cover). Tannehill made some great throws with the time and his guys made plays. luckily, we Brissett made just enough plays in the second half to keep it out of reach.

Blount, Bennett, and Chris Long were my players of the game. Jimmy as well, obviously. hope it's not crazy serious but i can't imagine him back before TB12's week 5 return.

X-rays were negative from what i hear

this is good news. even still, given it's the throwing arm, i can't fathom him being ready to go in four days for a TNF game.

GG guys, Bill owns us at Fox. Can't fathom how they'll look when Tom/Gronk get back.

y'all made it scary at the end, man. it's amazing what that offense can look like when everyone is dialed in and blocking, getting open, and completing plays. Tanne made some THROWS in that second half. GG

#Patriots QB Jimmy Garoppolo is at the hospital undergoing further tests on his right shoulder. There are no conclusive results yet.

The early indication on Garoppolo's injury is it will take 6 weeks to heal, per source. But still undergoing full battery of tests.

Per @tomecurran Garoppolo maybe able to return week 4 and it will be a "pain tolerance" situation.

I only saw the first half of the game, but it was disappointing that our defense didn't hold up. From what I heard, Tannehill was trying to pick on Coleman in the 2nd half. It seems like that unit has done well in the first half of these first two games and then they kind of fall apart as the game progresses. I'm not sure if that's a personnel issue, coaching issue, scheme issue or just the opponent being a bad match up; or maybe a combination of things. I definitely have respect for Fitzgerald and Landy, Parker, Stills and Cameron are all threats in their own way in my opinion.

In regards to Jimmy, after seeing his performance through these first two quarters, it was sad to see him go down like that. I'm hearing that he may be able to go on Thursday now, but that may be a reach. He came in and took control of this offense and I had confidence that 4-0 was a real possibility. I don't know what the long term plans are with Jimmy; whether we'd entertain a trade for him or if he's the heir to Brady, but those 6 quarters he played were a testament to the work he put in and that had me excited for these next two games and for what the future holds.

Week 5 can't get here soon enough now.

Just read Edelman will be the backup QB for next week, this should be interesting.

i hope we don't find out just how interesting

it makes sense though. no one is coming in and learning the system well enough in two days to do anything more than Jules could do if it came down to it. plus, clearly Jimmy must be in better shape than we're all worried about

we are going to need some more points, here. hoping they we can do some more damage through the air in the second half to help put this away. don't expect the defense to shut the texans down for the whole 60

Yeah, we need to get something in the passing game going. Houston has a good d line and has neutralized Blount. If they're leaving our WR in man, let's get our guys in space and let Edelman, Dola and Hogan get some YAC.

With that being said, I think we continue to be conservative and keep giving the ball to Blount up the middle for no gain or 1 yard and try to win on special teams and defense.
