@Methodical Management Is there an agenda for the event? Curious when the charity auction begins or if it is an ongoing activity throughout the 5 hour window.

One quick reminder so we don't have any drama at the door: just replying to this thread and saying "I'm possibly considering becoming interested in maybe attending if I can get permission from my spouse" does not qualify you for entry into the event.
You need to have a personalized invitation to show at the door. If you don't have that, then you probably haven't replied to the PM you received about the event. Make sure you do that ASAP if you'd like to attend.
At the moment, we still have about five or six of you who are in this category - including some who claimed that they're coming in from Sacramento. I really don't want them to have to turn you away at the door, but building security needs to be tight and nobody is getting in unless they're on the guest list. So, don't ruin your friends' evening by telling yourself that you'll be able to talk your way in at the door. It's not going to happen. Do it right. Get an invitation for each guest while we still have a couple of spots left.
I really don't want to hear that we had to turn a bunch of people away at the door. Let's avoid that outcome.
Other activities, like the game tournament, will likely be ongoing depending on how many people participate. Again, it's arranged sort of like the site, in a sense, in that we'll have multiple activities going simultaneously. You can watch the game, participate in the gaming tournament (big thanks to EA Sports for helping us with that!), record a message in the Wikia fan studio, or grab something to eat. As mentioned earlier, we do have one or two items of interest to share with our guests as well, but I can't really give any specifics on when those will occur.

The charity auction is scheduled to begin at halftime. If we're able to permit online bidding, we'll need the time to have someone photograph the items people bring in, etc.

Okay guys, I have to fall on this grenade...
When answering your questions re: catering, I was under the impression that the vendor selection was a done deal. Unfortunately, it turns out that the soul food restaurant we'd all hoped to have cater the event was unwilling to work with Wikia to provide the food we wanted for an event of this size.
Specifically, they only wanted to serve appetizers and the minimum order they asked for was more in line with a large wedding feast than a meet-up event for 30-40 people.
The only thing more disappointing than telling you guys we won't be serving soul food after all would be to serve you $1,500 worth of fried okra, with none of the main courses or side dishes you'd expect when you think of soul food.
The good news is that our friends at Wikia were able to make arrangements with another caterer, one that will ensure that there is a MAIN DISH available for every single guest.
So, instead of soul food, we'll have Mediterranean food at the event.
My apologies to those who had their hearts set on soul food as a result of my premature answer.
For what it's worth, I'm told the Mediterranean food looks awesome, and I hope you'll all enjoy it.
