People who go to schools like Albany, cortland, oneonta tend to be douche bag bros from republican/right-wing families and their female equivalents. Either townies or Long Island douches. Add Donald trump into the mix and how these racists think it's now ok to act like that then you get ******** like this.

At least my take from the minimal info we've been provided so far.

Unfortunately, I can co-sign with this.

I went to Ithaca for grad school and Ithaca is a great place in terms of diversity, especially seeing as how Cornell draws in so many international students, BUT these other cities often come into Ithaca to party and man they are terrible.

I'd like to hear more about the story as to why this incident was started....

Disgusting. Let's see what happens and get some more info on what sparked this.

:smh: :smh: :smh: Then you have some people wondering why students go to school and don't feel safe. Not only do those students need to be punished, but that driver needs to be fired.

Sad situation, interested on what sparked this (if anything other than Being Black in America)
Authorities investigating report of racially-motivated bus attack
ALBANY -- Police are investigating an alleged attack on a CDTA bus that may have been racially motivated.

Albany Police received a call around 1:20 a.m. on Saturday regarding the alleged attack on a black University at Albany student. She claims the incident happened on a CDTA bus. Albany Police spokesperson Steve Smith says the department is working with UAlbany Police to investigate the specifics of the alleged attack. CDTA says the alleged incident happened on a route that services the UAlbany campus.

Albany Police are investigating whether a hate crime was committed, an no arrests have yet been made. They say one of the three victims was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital. The two others denied medical attention.

On Saturday, UAlbany President Robert Jones sent a letter to students, faculty and staff about the incident, saying it involved three students who were allegedly attacked by a group of 10 to 12 white suspects. "I am deeply concerned, saddened and angry about this incident," he says. "There is no place in the UAlbany community for violence, no place for racial intolerance and no place for gender violence." Though Jones is out of town, he says he is cutting his trip short to return to Albany and address the situation.

A spokesperson for CDTA says they are working with both Albany Police and UAlbany Police in their investigation. Though not all CDTA buses have cameras on board, this bus did, and CDTA is working to provide that footage to police.
3 black students at SUNY Albany report racial assault by 10-12 whites on city bus
ALBANY, N.Y. — Three black female college students say they were physically assaulted Saturday by a group of white men and women during a racially motivated attack aboard a city bus in Albany.

The Albany Police Department said it was looking into the incident as a possible hate crime. There were no immediate arrests.

The women, all students at the SUNY University of Albany, described how 10 to 12 white men and women used racial slurs during the attack on the Capital District Transportation Authority bus, University President Robert Jones  said.

The women said they were sitting at the back of the bus when they got into an argument with several white passengers, according to the Albany Times Union.

The women said racial slurs were hurled at them before a fight broke out. One woman said several men kicked her after she fell to the floor, the newspaper reported.

The CDTA bus involved had a video camera aboard, and the agency is working to provide that footage to police, WRGB-TV reported.

"I am deeply concerned, saddened and angry about this incident. There is no place in the UAlbany community for violence, no place for racial intolerance and no place for gender violence," Jones said in a letter to the university community.

^ pretty much dont forget, "Why did they argue when they were outnumbered"?

But seriously, just when you thought America was possibly turning a new leaf we deal with the same old problems. This on top of other uncovered hate crimes, kids spelling out the N word on their shirts, injustice in the justice system. :smh:

I'm begining to come to terms that this younger generation will end up raising their children to hate what they don't bother to understand. The cycle will continue in areas where theres the main demographic is caucasians.

Between UAlbany, Sage, and the Pharmacy school within a 2 mile radius and there's nothing to do but go to the bars.

Liquid courage

bubbubu Racism is only in the south

bubububu racism is over because blacks aren't getting lynched anymore

bububu blacks should stop making everything about race

Awww the great city of Albany and Newyork state.I'll keep it short and truthful for the thread's sake.
Outside of NYC and the other major cities in NewYork state your going to find two type of extreme's that both have one major thing in common that ties them together when it comes to outside influences and visitors who aren't college students or contributing to the local economy in some way.
The two extreme's that I am talking about has to do with class;either you have money or you don't and there are a lot of people who don't in these little pockets in NewYork and the one's that do aren't rich but they're the teachers, doctors, business owners, whatever that keep those communities alive. The poor people, even the working poor are the majority and in my opinion are the one's who make NY state one undesirable place to live(Walfare,no dental plans, pickup trucks, small useless livestock harsh winters ).
But even with my opinion they both have something in common their white and that ties them together close enough to create this nest that they protect by any means and the way to get into this nest with causing a seem is by being a college student which is like 50% foreigners their not going to ruffle those feather's.

Racism is only in the south
I wish it was but it's not it's worse up top than in the south in todays terms.Segregation is real whether it's done on purpose or unconsciously done. But it's not all bad I guess you will find those instances where it's kinda mocha-ish :White woman with bi-racial children and in between again their either on one side of the street or the other.

I'm not shocked by this at all because Albany is a nice small city with a lot of bar's and place's to hangout at and there's usually nothing else to do besides that.Schenectady,NY and surrounding area's you could feel the resentment from the locals, don't drink over there.

If it happened on a bus, there's probably footage of it. We'll find out soon enough what went down.

"What are they doing on the bus so late at night?"

"I don't think race has anything to do with it"

"They should've waited for the next one"

"They must've felt threatened"

Should cover everything.
