Hey guys, i'm unsure if i am even posting in the correct area, if not mods please move to the correct area. I am 5'7 150, so more of a guard or smaller wing and need help finding a new pair of shoes(coming back from a torn acl, been a year now). The kobe 9s look interesting but lunarlon in kobe 8s made me feel too close to the ground. I know the lebron 11s, which I have on me, have lunarlon and zoom air but the shoes are too heavy for me. Any lighter shoes with lunarlon and zoom air? And is there anyway to take out the lebron 11 midsole/insole and put it in the kobe 9, I heard it can be done but it seems like this midsole/insole is glued in. Or any other suggestions? Jordan 29s were also an option

The last Kobes I loved were the iv's. After that each model would give me shin splints or a tight back. I like that you can order the XI elite with full zoom.

I had every durant and these last few years the traction is awful and they make the cushioning so soft. The elite versions are really nice and comfy.

Lately I've been playing in lebron XII low, xx9 low and the lebron xiii.

The lebron low is so comfy. Maybe not the best foot lockdown but they didn't give me any issues.

The XIII is an awesome shoe. Cushioning isn't super soft but it may not be broken in yet. everything feels good I just dislike how high the shoes run! Like wearing a freaking boot.

So then the xx9 low. I love the regular xx9 but the shoe got so darn hot. I played in the xx9 low 7 times now and now issues. Just feel it in my back a lil probably because of the lack of heel cushioning. Today I played for three hours and put in a sof sole super thin basketball insole.

The insole has heel cushioning and it helped out. It didn't raise the height of the ride that much. The only problem is that I lost feel of that awesome zoom in the forefoot.

So my next experiment is to take some insoles from some $22 Janoskis that have heel zoom in the insole.

Walking around feels good. I hate swapping insoles. Used to do it a lot and experimenting is fun but if I'm dropping $200 I want a complete product. Still this is too cheap and easy of an option. So I think I'll try the same with the xxx.

I have the KD 8 and I love them.  Others will beg to differ but I think if you get the sizing right you should be ok.  Flyweave upper and full length zoom.  Hyperev 2015 has been good I heard as well...the soldier 9 has got great reviews.

depends on your body built and playing style.
If you are rather light and speedy player to cut into the zone much, I would recommend shoes like the AJ XX9 or Kyrie2 with great court feel.
If you are rather a big guy who crashes the board much, I would recommend you Lebron 11 and similar shoes with higher stability and thicker cushioning.

My two favorite bball shoes have been my Huarache 2K4's and Jordan XX's. Is there anything out that's comparable to those two?

Hard to compare the shoes nowadays with all the tech and materials to those two shoes.  Those two were great, no doubt but a lot of they "better" performing shoes aren't made of leather and have zoom everywhere.  I think Jordan XX had a completely different tech as well??

My KD 9 are right up there with my Jordan XXX now.

Kyrie 2 is decent but cushion is not very well.

New Crazylight Boost is also a great shoe.

Lillard 2.

Curry 2.

I rotate all of those. Right now KD 9 is my fav but I would recommend any of those on court.

i would go for j crossover 2 lows by brandblack.

Fit was an issue with the mids to some so they changed the material of the upper on the lows. Cushioniong/tooling is the same on both variants which is very firm and bouncy foam.

What’s your budget?

If you’re on a budget, the Kyrie 7 is a great shoe. If you have a little more money to spend, then the LeBron 18’s are an epic pair of shoes.

Also, do you prefer lots of cushion? Or more court-feel?

I think the AJ XX8 is the most versatile basketball shoe ever made. You can wear it low top or high top & the elastic outer shell provides good support. Super lightweight & feels like they propel you.
