Two NYPD cops shot in the BX

I gave him the simple option of choosing between all cops are bad, or not all cops are bad...that's not a hard choice at all...one is a stupid blanket statement, the other is simple common sense, somehow his pride can't bring him to simply say, NO not all cops are bad people, because he somehow feels it dilutes the point he's trying to make about a corrupt system which nobody is arguing for....WE KNOW THE SYSTEM IS CORRUPT....doesn't make every individual workin for it, a corrupt person....that's pure ignorance.

Pure ignorance is you being able to grasp this issue from a macro standpoint.

If someone willingly joins an oppressive agency, no matter how pure-intentioned they are, they are allowing themselves to become agents of oppression.

Not a difficult point to understand.

Do you believe all cops are bad, YES or NO?

The question is irrelevant and juvenile.

Exactly how did it even get to that? :smh:

This, it's an overtly emotional question.

Worried about good vs evil, while communities are being torn apart because of unjust policing.

Son is worried about the wrong thing and it's honestly sad to see his gears turn. His whole thought process is concerning.

My thought process is concerning, yet you the one showing close to 0 sympathy for the well being of another human being SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY WORE A BADGE

Please tell me more

You thinking anyone is disagreeing with you about the system being corrupt is what got you looking foolish, NOONE can say the system isn't flawed, because it is....but this thread is about 2 cops being shot, not about the system as a whole being exposed....FOCUS on the topic

By me pointing out the fact that these instances happen because of unconstitutional police practices that foster contempt between the community & the police I'm unsympathetic?

Oh okay, please tell me more about how I feel about this situation because I made an honest & factual statement.

So caught up in the emotion of the whole situation, instead of thinking of this issue in a rational manner.

Two cops getting shot is a subtopic of a much bigger, more complex conversation.

That conversation being the ineptitude of our current police agencies in this nation.

Again, you continue to display your inability to think of this issue from a macro standpoint.

You're the only one (along with KrazyBlunts) that's looking foolish in this discourse.

We don't have all the details but it sounds like they were patrolling the Melrose houses & spooked the wrong person.

Dude who shot the two cops fled and subsequently killed himself. Another dude surrendered and isn't considered to be connected to the shooting.

Probably more to the story.

Is as if you are almost blamin them for being shot....

"Spooked the wrong person"? You mean the criminal holding a fireman, crazy enough to discharge it at cops?....sound like they spooked the right person to me.

Because the topic of the police force being corrupt and the agenda of the force as a whole enforcing unfair/biased practices is redundant and something that nobody is arguing against fam....I never once in this whole thread said you weren't right about that.

My only problem is how you are using these 2 cops who you don't know to push yoir grand agenda of a broken system, jumping to conclusions about HOW they ended up injured, conclusions in which to you they are already guilty of some wrong doing.

Vertical patrols are often in nature unconstitutional. They target low-income housing. Often they're searching citizens w/o reasonable suspicion.

A similar vertical patrol got 28 year old Akai Gurley killed.

Instead of intimidatory & alienating practices, instead the police should focus on fostering trust & cooperation within these neighborhoods. There are people in these neighborhoods who have families, have jobs and want nothing more than to see their communities rid of violent individuals.

That's not going to happen however if the police alienate everyone in these communities.

Educate yourself.

Yes, they are guilty of some wrongdoing as vertical patrols are by nature, unconstitutional.

I started with this whole point page one. You somehow glossed over that.

The question is simple.

Judging an individual solely based on who they work for is juvenile.
It's irrelevant and juvenile if you continue to ignore what SH is saying and trying to simplify it down to he's judging individuals based on who they work for.

He's judging a corrupt and abusive system and those that work for it who support and further the existence of the corrupt system.

It's like you're purposely not listening to anything he's saying to make this about something way more simple minded.

Its funny because if you truly just shut up and stopped to think/read the links I'm providing you'd understand what i'm saying.

Yet you're just lazily going on & on about nonsense.

This is why you consistently lose arguments on NT. You don't even research your own standpoint. You take away credibility from your own stance by being so sloppy in your presentation.

If you put even one iota of an effort into say the Colombia thread, you could've perhaps better presented your stance. Instead everyone thinks you're a bigot. I know you're not a bigot, you're just careless and ignorant.

That's not shade, that's what it is.

It's like saying the priests that didn't molest any children but knew about other priests doing it shouldn't be judged based on what pedophile child molesting priests do. A completely immature mind set.

Not really based in reality or geared to actually cause change.

Ima just see myself out this circle jerk....I'm not ignoring his main point, I'm actually agreeing with it...it would be stupid not to....you dudes carry on tho.

All cops are corrupt, because the system is corrupt. Got it.

Because ALL priests were aware of child molestation....we are individuals and should be judged as such....you seem to not grasp this concept.

Bro it has me without worry what you or any other NTer thinks about me.

Not when you willingly participate in a corrupt system.

You care so much it's disgusting .

if you didn't care you wouldn't faithfully take DC's bait. Son has you wrapped around his finger.

Oh and Lucky, lord. Lucky pulled your card and if not for me you'd still be in the Colombia thread getting ether'd by him.
