It seems like y'alls only argument is that you don't like that he seems to be an artist that doesn't take hip hop serious and you don't like his music. When he's really not even trying to be a hip hop artist laugh.gif

Is Logic a culture vulture if he puts some golds in? Is Macklemore? Is Eminem? Is Paul Wall? Is Alchemist? Is Mike Dean? Is Rick Rubin?

Does it depend on whether or not that person grew up in the suburbs?

What solidifies one to be of the culture to rock gold teeth?

Get mad about real **** not ******* gold teeth.
Once again you're not making sense. You keep bringing up white artists who have actually added to Hip Hop to cape for your man. Not one time did I mention his gold teeth. You just typing anything to defend your man. We're calling him out for being a vulture that was made in a studio. It's way more then his gold teeth that makes him a clown. He's biting what's popular, he ain't write the song that made him hot, he was just doing country or whatever then switched to Hip Hop, the cornrows.

But we understand you don't really **** Hip Hop Flesh. These are your type of rappers. laugh.gif
post #94 of 127

Rap is the easiest genre to capture instant attention in.

While Post may not consider himself a rapper (I sure as hell don't), he is benefiting by using an image and avenues catered for rap audiences to build his buzz and fame.

If he wants to fuse country, folk and rap in a pot and deliver his music that's cool. I'm all for innovation by iteration; but when you're not actually the one coming up with the vision and your whole sound was created by FKi , why is he getting a pass?

Cause he was created to appeal to Justin Bieber's audience, who don't care about the history of braids and grills. They wanna feel cool in their comfort zone and a white guy appropriating black fashion allows them just that.

Ya stay getting mad at Flesh Prince for not respecting the culture but it's bigger than just him, many young'ns feel the same way he does.

Unfortunately hip hop culture was sold out for a check a long time ago.

But my point is the term culture vulture is tossed around too loosely. There are more prevalent cases that could be considered CV than a white kid from Dallas.

Culture vulture is tossed around too loosely, Post Malone is the perfect case for the term culture vulture not to mention his manager is lyor cohen seed

like seriously

The funny thing is, he wouldn't. Hip-hop is the most critical of this, i.e. Flo-Rida Waka, Pitbull even the Weeknd to a certain degree.

This type of rap is taking over the youth right now. Everybody sounds and looks exactly the same. What you have now is the Black Suburban dudes tapping into this. Lil Yachty, Lil Uzi, Rich da kid, Famous Dex, Trill Sammy, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, Dice Soho, Ian Conner. These are some of the "Hottest" dudes bubbling right now.

Then Post Malone sees this....and runs with it.

All these lor ****** unoriginal and vultures laugh.gif.

His songs are pretty good, but don't care for his image because I just don't buy it.

Also I wouldn't put Trav in the same group as those other "rappers".

Travis is absolutely in that group.

These ***** are so bad....they make Travis Scott seem somewhat "original" laugh.gif.

I will say...Uzi has found his own distinct sound/lane.

Thank you for reposting that...

The ***** is just being trendy

The only thing that makes Post Malone a culture vulture and Travis not one is that Travis is black so it's okay for him to steal and be trendy laugh.gif. I'm pretty sure they had similar upbringings.

It seems like y'all main gripes are his skin color, his "contributions" or lack thereof to hip hop and him being created in a studio with a songwriter (as a pop artist) and an aesthetic (like it's mandatory for any artist in this lane...every autotune colored dread ***** has an aesthetic that someone thought up and put on them...all these ****** are walking Tumblr posts).

Also a good point AlexODY makes about Flo Rida and Weeknd...21 Savage as of now couldn't make that switch but if you make good music that attracts the right demographic people don't really care anymore...

Is Kanye a culture vulture?

Exactly what I'm saying.

They we're both privileged suburban kids so how is it plausible that one genuinely likes the culture and one doesn't because of skin color?

🤔

Travis has been doing this for 5 years. All those other people you named just got a buzz within the last year or two.

Not discrediting the suburban aspect, but he's been doing this for a while even at his young age.

look up his travis and jason stuff compared to his mbdtf cover stuff in like 2012 compared to how he sounded after keef came out and now how he sounds after thug, migos and swae lee came out

Antidote is a swae lee karaoke cover

i like his music but ya gotta be consistent with these dudes who use effects and good branding to rebuild themselves into different character

i don't think post or travis are wrong...it's the entertainment business...everyone is a character to a certain extent

Again, people have said the same thing about Travis Scott, Rocky, and Drake, so I don't know why people keep spotlighting him being white as a big part of that laugh.gif and people have also given him credit for making some pretty good songs. Vultures can make good song, nobody has said otherwise

Dont know if any of yall listen to bill burrs stream but he was telling a story about going to a tribute show with a bunch of famous tickets and singers. He said post malone was one of the people and he had no idea who he was and people were booing him before he got on stage but he sang some rock covers and shut down the show said he was by far the best. (Macy grey and a lot of other famous bands were there, off the top of my head cant remember who tho).

That's what **** riders do when they wanna defend somebody.

"Oh you don't like him because he's white frown.gif "

When we've given props to numerous white rappers and producers and we also call out black biters too. We've already listed the reasons why he's a clown, it's just talking in circles at this point.
