Will Smith says he made a parenting mistake on BBC radio

My statement shouldn't stop you from wearing a nightgown with ugly overpriced shoes while listening to crappy music.
Fallacious compartmentalizing

I dont think men look good in dresses(not kilts).

Sexual preference or race has nothing to do with it.
That's fine, I agree that men don't really look good in dresses.

I assume most of us in here agree.

His parents are multimillionaires, dudes really needs to prostitute himself for money. Bigots will reach for the worst excuses to explain things they don't understand.

This dudes really said Jaden is wearing a dress for money. Yea ok. Will Smith's family is literally set for the next 4 generations.

Far from a bigot, nice try. Is he doing this for free? Not saying he needs the money, but he's now the "face" of this company.

You throw words around like bigot and homophobic to liberal, just because someone doesn't agree with you. That's just a way to stop a discussion.

I don't understand how its homophobia to not rock with a guy wearing a dress. Last time I checked he's not a honosexual

Academically, homophobia is the irrational fear of gay people or the perception of gay behavior. Ironically it's all in the accuser's head, and usually an indication of latent homosexuality.

I see straight men in dresses at least five times a day here in New York. Who knows their reason for choosing to wear a dress. However, why should their choice of fashion be an indication of their masculinity? More importantly,  if you're not interested in him sexually, what impact does another man's sexuality or masculinity have on you as an individual?
General question but how do you know these are straight men?

"Don't push your sexuality on me, just like I shouldn't push mine on you" is he mentality people need to take. If it has nothing to do with you, don't let it bother you.

Everything a celebrity does is calculated. That is all I will say about that.

Anton, you are so naive at times man

Not even off of any "agenda" stuff. You think it is far fetched for Will and Jada to sit down and say, "Man, the world is changing. The gender lines are bluring as each year passes. What if we let our kids be at the forefront of this movement. It could make us/them a lot of $. Something as simple as that could be why they have their kids dressed up as the opposite sex.

Look man, we've heard this story before.

Yea and let's be real MLK and Malcolm X capitalized on a terrible situation for financial gain as well. I mean were do we draw the line sweety? There are writers, and activists who benefit financially from the "black live matter" movement. Maybe we've gotten to a point in society were everyone is supposed to be jaded, and think there's always an ulterior motive for supporting certain social movements.

MLK and Malcolm got money and women, possibly men as the leader of the civil rights movement. Don't be so naive.
How the hell u equate Martin and malcom
To will and jada
U black????
Cause if u are stop putting our heroes in a bad light in front of the caucasoids
We can argue amongst ourselves
But don't let the outsiders see

I am just offering a potential angle Anton. My guess is as good as yours when it comes to the motives behind this.

I am not even discussing his sexuality. I am simply saying that it is a market for gender blended clothing and it IS something they could capitalize on. Not sure why you are making that to be so far fetched.

Again, everything done by celebrities is calculated

What exactly is the social movement that is being supported by allowing Jalen Smith to dress up as a little girl?

The freedom to let people, particularly men, wear what they want. If Jaden wants to wear dresses that's his choice.

It harms absolutely nobody and I think it's ridiculous that grown men are outraged by what another man chooses to wear.

Who is outraged? I thought we were simply having a discussion. And who said it is harming anyone?

And last time I checked, people have ALWAYS worn whatever they wanted to wear.

So again I ask, WHAT social movement is being supported by Will allowing his son to dress like a little girl?

It was a general statement, not directed at you in particular.

Many people are outraged, just check social media. There are also a few individuals in this thread who clearly have a strong objection to what Jaden is doing.

I already answered your last question. Whether you like it or not, Jaden is a celebrity and has some degree of influence.

Regardless of his intentions, he's bringing attention to the subject and supporting the idea that a man should be able to wear what he wants without being condemned for it.

Comment sections on the net have displayed a lot of anger and hate towards Jaden and people who cross dress.

People have been saying its "harming the youths" cuz it's influencing kids to wear skirts and dresses. The whole emasculation thing.

People keep saying its forced on society but if society wasn't glued to screens 24/7 mindlessly browsing the Internet they wouldn't eem notice.

I don't think any social movement is attached to what Jaden is doing but I could see certain groups using him as a poster boy for whatever reason.

Bringing attention to WHAT subject is what I am asking.

People "dressing fleely" isn't a SOCIAL MOVEMENT

People have ALWAYS worn what they wanted to wear. How is this promoting a social movement? WHAT is the movement

only reason he puttin on dresses is for attention

if it wasnt will's son, and some rnadom cat on the street this wouldnt be a "movement"
