====== EPIC Flyknit Series ======

Yeah. From what I was told, Nike definitely classifies this as a long distance shoe. Good to see it put through its paces IRL.

I haven’t read the entire thread so please forgive me if I am redundant. I run regularly. I usually do about (3) 9.5 mile runs a week. While I am a Nike clothing/Jordan/Kobe elite “sheep”. For the past 6 years I have run in primarily new balance. I like the 890s, then switched over to the fresh foam 890’s and the Zante. I have never liked any Nike running shoe much. The main reason being that they are generally 30% more than a comparable shoe from another company. They also seem too focused on style.  Airmax to bulky not natural feeling, zoom nothing special (for the price), “foam sole” well foam soles no matter what the brand names want to name theirs, and as with most Nikes they don’t seem to have enough lockdown. I tried this shoe on at a local running store. I think they are very well made and will give them a try. They seem to combine the lock down of a seamless lightweight running shoe (great for speed but bad for long distances because of lack of cushioning). They also give the support/cushioning of a stability shoe without feeling like I have on big shoes. This shoe feels very light and snug but has some real support. The only 2 cons I see are the heel to drop is pretty large and the sole is very thick. , and as with all Nike products “price”. Because Nike is advertising TAKE THEM FOR A TRIAL RUN I am going to order a pair and check them out. I know I am going to take some heat for this but this show should be max price 125, I don’t think it cost anymore to do “flynit” than it does to do any other engineered mesh upper.

^ these will eventually be put on sale, and especially if you use them for running, the colors might not be as important to you. You could always try them out and if you like them, wait until they go on sale. Nike is pretty expensive these days... They basically put out a product that they hope will sell well. After about two or three months they put it on sale to the price that they actually should have been at originally. The only shoes that are the exception to this are the Flyknit racers, as they do not seem to put them on sale anymore (online at least). I guess my point is, if you can wait, wait, and the price will come down.

That's a gamble. These might go on sale but you better not care about loud obnoxious colors when that time comes. Nike tests the market for a retail price but the way things are going if you don't grab what releases when it releases more times than not you're not getting them for retail if you wait. Case in point; Flyknit lunar chukkas. Nike doesn't make too many shoes like this, where fashion meets function so well. In my past experiences with Nike, these shoes don't last too long on the shelf after people discover them. Once people start looking at these in store and on other people's feet things will change. Id say get them while you can if you like them.

These will be just like the Flyknit Free in 2013. Great shoe but average consumers a bit hesitant due to change but mostly price point. They originally released at $160 and could be found a year later for literally 80% off from Nike Outlets and Clearance stores.

I'm not aware of total production #s but I do know a boatload of colorways are in the pipeline so unless it's a limited type of deal, pretty sure you can wait for the reductions.

^ thanks for the heads up, as always. wish i knew that before copping 4 pairs on release day haha. at least i was able to get rid of/return 2.

I agree, the original colors look like they'll probably be on sale in a couple of months. At least by mid-summer.

What's with Nike putting flyknit ankle socks on a lot of their new releases anyway? First these, the KDs, the Huaraches, and now the Air Max 90, wtf? lol.

They gotta do something to try and compete with Adidas.

Nike still reigns but Adidas getting all the buzz lately.

Go with the consensus .5 up even full size up if you have wide foot especially using the thicker insoles. I went tts and it fits nice and snug. That rubbing the heel is no joke (was wearing no shows for the quick run and couldn't take it after half mile). I think .5 up will give you problem still, just wear higher socks solves it.

These are practically an expensive Flyknit Roshe with Lunarlon. I got the MP, looking down reminds me of the black/sail cw I had.

Dang is the sole noisy, like little suction cups on the bottom. Ultra Boost are noisy too. Edge goes to the UB, the primeknit is not as tight as these and no rubbing on the heel so good for running and casual wear. I got rid of them eventually.
Don't get me wrong these are comfortable too but these are really form fitting that I don't like wearing casually.

I have tried them enough to know they aren't keepers and will not get them on sale either. They are going back tomorrow forget 30 days.

I am very happy with Under Armour running.

everyone who attended the lunarepic event in nyc last week got a pair of these at the end. no idea if nike has release plans for them.

Black/Photo Blue/Poison Green/Black I bought a 12.5 which is my true size. This is the first Nike running shoe I have worm in 7 years. I run mostly new balance. I just finished logging a 9.5 mile run (1:31:39.38). I always wear Nike elite socks with slim McDavid ankle sleeve on both ankles, so the ankle sleeve didn’t bother me at all. I also had no issues with blisters or rubbing.  This shoe is an excellent long distance road running shoe. My trail is all concrete and I did not have to use the grass at any point during my run. I normally ice my knees and ankles after I run but I literally don’t have any ankle/feet/knee pain. The shoes are very light and they do “disappear”. The shoe doesn’t have the greatest lock down feel (at first I kept looking to see if the laces where undone) but that is where the ankle sleeve comes in. It helps you use your entire foot to lift the shoe. It is a very different feeling, but your feet don’t work as hard to actually lift the shoe. You can just run. The shoe is very high off of the ground but this not short distance (less than 3 miles) speed shoe so I am ok with that. This is a long distance hard surface shoe. This will definitely be my go to distance running shoe. If you want something for the track or make lots of turning/cutting I would not recommend this shoe because you don’t really have any lateral support and the high heel/toe drop. I think Nike has a winner and judging by the lack of sizes at my running store they are selling well to runners

For casual wear these shoes look great with the tech fleece pants and the dri-fit nit Nike shirts. They are also very wearable with shorts. I found on some hard shinny surfaces the traction is lacking, and the white sole attracts dirt like crazy.

The only con I have is the shoes are rather warm on my feet. They don’t circulate air over your feet as you run. But this is not a big deal. If you can afford them they are worth the money. Well done Nike

^ reading this, I have the intense feeling that Nike sent someone into the thread to advertise their equipment (and the shoe) ........
