More drivers falling behind on their car payments

You guys can think whatever you want. Well aware it's a controversial opinion. I also don't want to know what she makes none pg my business.
I actually don't think you have friends in real life.

I just don't believe you interact with real human beings on a consistent basis with some of the stuff you post.
See? This is why discussions go nowhere. Resulting to ad hominems because you disagree with someone.
In my 13 years of being on this website you have the most absurd non-troll opinions I've ever read.

Your opinions are so off the wall that i don't see what there is to discuss. Then you are so stubborn that despite what amount of empirical evidence someone presents you still say "I still stick by what I said"

No one wants to have a discussion with someone like that.
Stubborn is a bit much. I dont dismiss others opinions, I acknowledge them, but there are some things that I simply can't see myself relenting on, this being one of them.

So what is the point in discussing it with you?

So what is the point in discussing it with you?
You can have a discussion with someone without anyone changing their opinions. I'm not here to change yours on this subject, that doesnt mean its worth discussing

Tons of pretenders out there. At the same time,my heart goes out to the single parents struggling to pay that second hand Hyundai Accent.

So it's rude to ask how much someone makes at any job or career field? I mean what if you found out your making less for the same work etc?

Calling it a secret adds a negative connotation to it as if something wrong is happening when it isn't. This is her not knowing something that she never deserved to know.

To tour other point it's something I myself have thought of and the only method of circumventing it I can think of is to just give all of our documents to a third party (IE a CPA) and have them file but am aware of the pitfalls in that plan.

To the extent that she ever found out it won't be because I told her. That is certain.
We already dispelled this possibility in another thread. Unless you will deny your spouse of a copy of her tax returns(illegal), the figures will be shown if filed jointly. You will also know what she earned as well. Only way around it is throwing away thousands every year to the government by filing separately.

Regarding the car bubble, until interest rates come back up financing will continue to be worth the risk for banks issuing auto loans.

  Anytime the economy is "good" you see way more new cars on the road. I remember prior the 08 recession EVERYONE, I mean EVERYONE, had rims. Little by little reality creeps in. Those escalades turned into civics and so on...

 this is true. I was 12 in 2007 and didn't know much about finance but used to wonder how certain people were able to afford cars and homes like they did.

The writing's been on the wall for a while now. There was an article a while ago that Milleniels are buying more luxury cars while also carrying increased amounts of student and consumer debt. At some point, our generation will learn one way or another. Unfortunately for now we aren't learning that the best way to build wealth and financial security is to be debt free and live within your means.

Bro, idk if I've asked you before, but do you have a blog or twitter or something I can follow? All of your posts are educational to me.

I think so, unless it's because you're interested in changing careers. I don't tell people if they just ask me so they can know. A couple nickels is all I'll ever tell someone who is just being nosy. If you're interested in becoming a union electrician though, I'll tell you take home, pension, dues, etc. It's important to know how much you would make in a field before joining. Plus, you could probably find it online.

It's not rude. As someone who assists people with budgeting, financing loans, and coming up with savings plans I don't think it's rude. Anyone I come across at my desk who thinks it's rude is usually insecure about themselves. Where I work you can't come to me and say you make X amount of dollars in gross every month and not be able to prove it. My loan officers won't accept the application without proof of income. I swear I get a ton of people who make themselves look worse by lying about their income. You make what you make, I'm not there judge anyone. It's my job to find out what you can afford, not what you can't.

I like leasing my cars for this very reason, for the longest they were giving out 0% interest on car loans (mine was damn near close) I bought my car in 12 and am close to paying it off, will be leasing so I have no debt.

What? so do you lease or do you own?

Huge difference between telling someone how much you make while applying for a loan vs Jimmy down the block asking your income

Homie will be divorced at least twice if he ever even gets married

I dont see any logic in being so adamant about keeping your salary from your wife

So do you file joint or separate tax returns? :nerd:

He is single thats why he thinks this way.

What happens when they want to buy a house and they need to submit w2s to the bank? "Yo wifey step outside while I talk to the loan officer" :smh:
Again, assumption.

It doesn't even matter at this point cause people in here have played both sides. Either I'm single or I'm in a relationship that's doomed to fail.

I was going off of the last time we all had this same conversation where you said you were single but if things have changed then I stand corrected.

I believe I said that I wasn't married. Either way doesn't matter if I am or not, simply being in a relationship isn't enough to change this.

In regards to not being married I don't need to be married in order to weigh in on the dynamics of marriage. The "You don't know cause you don't live it" argument holds no water here.

Not everyone on this website is a professional athletes yet S&T is active with people discussing sports and the athletes that play them.

There's a thread on here where people discuss every drivable car in the world yet they don't own or have even driven said cars.

So yeah.

I LOVE talking sports w/ you bro....but I honestly don't think you believe 1/2 the **** you say regarding relationships.

Obviously you don't need to be married to have an opinion on marriage, but you have a lot to learn. I damn well guarantee (if you're not trolling) you're setting yourself up nothing but relationship failures down the road. It's not even based off of your insane viewpoint(s) in this thread.

Lol it really isn't that serious, my close friends know how much I make and I know how much they make.

I look at it as motivation, vice versa.

I will say that these dealerships are pushing people into longer term loans and will do anything to get you to pay X amount per month.

Dealerships don't make anyone do anything.  Lets stop making excuses for the stupidity of people.

Yeah right, I was supposed to be given a 60mo loan and the finance guy put it in for 72mo. DIdn't find out until my first statement came in the mail.

They lied about the rate that I could get, saying I had to put additional money down for the lower 2.9% rate.

Found out later that this was a lie.

They lied about not being able to honor my True Car certificate pricing and doing my loan through USAA at 1.7%. Saying I could only get that pricing if I financed through them to get all of the rebates.

Please don't tell me what these dealerships are not doing.
