How has social media changed your life?

This seems like a thread started to get info for a book report
this is what I was thinking soon as I read the OP.

I use the following:

Facebook: Boring as hell not. Only reason I keep it is because of the HBCU/Iota Phi Theta groups I'm in.

Twitter: Use that to basically clown around with a lot of people I went to school with/random people I get to know on the site (mainly sorority chicks/frat bros from out of the state).. Wish Twitter would go back to the way it was in 2009

GroupMe: Use that to keep in touch with my frat bros in my state. that way we can all be on one page when it's time to throw events and travel.

IG: Use that to mainly look at IG thots/"models"/wannabe pornstars, shoe collectors & greek related posts. My pics are usually of my CD and shoe collection.

Snapchat: I'm about to delete that ish.

Not even going to lie, snapchat helped me bang like 3 girls this year...I just send them pics of the d...even if they don't ask for it

the internet is a tool. you can hammer a nail or hammer your finger. it's up to you.

that being said, i met my wife on a message board. they allowed you to collect rep points and then use the points to do things. you could even temp ban people if you got enough points. anyway, i stole an idea from NT and i changed this girl's avy and put a santa hat on it for xmas. years later and we're happily (at least i am ) married and have a 3 year old boy. life is funny like that.

Social and media don't mix well in my world so it's 90% real life 10% internet(no facebook) and it balances itself out.

I predict that they will have some type of rehab or program for internet addicts who neglect to do standard things because of the internet.

Nah, I don't care. I can eat chicken wings whenever I want. Why would it excite me to see a picture of them.

I think people just want to give off the perception that they are always busy

I've posted five photos since Christmas because I'm actually too busy

Besides following a few interesting NT threads and a couple car forums I'm a ghost.

Never did FB Twitter IG SnapChat stuff....

If you don't have my email or phone number I guess you're just not someone I care to keep up with at this point in life.

I enjoy the privacy of my personal life and don't care to look into other people's lives that closely.

It does get annoying when people look at you crazy when you tell them you don't have a FB account.

It literally makes me cringe when my gf scrolls through IG to show me stupid videos and memes.....especially relationship ones.

I just find it dorky for people over 30 to be snapping pics and selfies every damn where they go at everything they do.

Or every 5 minutes they are trying to show you something dumb on FB or IG because they just find it soo funny

It looks downright zombie ****** mode to from the outside looking in.

I try and keep some sort of phone discipline etiquette when I'm out in public at social gatherings and clubs.

Especially something like out eating dinner with family...

PUT YOUR GOT DAMN SMART PHONE AWAY  CONVERSE AND MAKE EYE CONTACT AND ENJOY YOUR LOVED ONES WHILE THEY ARE LIVING!

nt is social media - the difference is the platform isn't really about yourself.

there are threads which you contribute things about yourself but no one joins on NT to talk about themselves except kellyprep.

So you never post snaps of yourself trying on all your lucha masks and Liger costumes?

i totally agree with this. I feel like people are more into their phone (mostly for social media) more than talkin in person.

That said, i think humans are regressing on people skills.

It's helped me get find new, great music, and find new budding artists that are on the comeup but I'm not really a social person so it sucks a little for me.

Done alot of graphic work for people on this site, through twitter and fb.
GOt put onto new artists early like Kdot
(other than NT,) I limit my use, so it has all worked out

How isn't it?

In Shape Thread: Posting half naked pics of yourself
Dressing Better Thread: Let me post what I am wearing today
Post Your Car Thread: #HumbleBrag
Food Thread: Look what I ate today
PyP Thread: Title says it all

Come on man, NT is JUST as superficial LOL

one hundred percent spot on DCAllAfrican DCAllAfrican

NT is literallly a horrible forum "look at my sneakers" circle jerk fest is what it is exactly based off of

Post Your Car Thread is literally the worse section on this Forum

You would think dudes are driving 2015+ dope BMWs the way they act

My cousin drives a new M6 and literally you got cats on here with 2008 M3 who think they are GOD

Legit funny af

Mainly use it to find out what's popping in the city. I deleted ig a year ago and I'm glad i did. Fb is mainly for local events, news, memes.

Overall social media is aids to society, killing it very slowly.

Especially that snap chat mess. It's basically everyone's personal reality show. It's hilarious to see girls twisting their faces up, grabbing their friends primping their hair for that efame.

I stopped 'liking' obvious thirst traps set by these empty females. Again, social media to women is the equivalent of pr0n to men: everything you desire at he press of a button.
