Rapper Friends (NO HATE)

I can't tell if you are being forreal or not. But you are speaking as if his friend has a decent chance of making that happen.
Maybe not Kanye or Drake but it's entirely tangible for someone to make it as a ghostwriter.

If not for big artists, he could at least probably find work writing for kid rappers on Disney or something.

Meh. White privilege

The white hip hop audience wants to see rappers that look like them aka why you have dudes like macklemore winning grammys

This reminds me of when I met G Eazy like 7 years ago. My boy's homegirl was (and still is?) dating him. Some white chick named Devon. Anyway, i found out he rapped and he played some tracks for. I thought dude was corny and trash. Never in a million years did I think he would blow up.

I think he just had a show out here at the shrine last night. I see girls posting pics of him all over IG. He's kicking it with Bieber and Drake. Unbelievable  Anything is possiibbbllleee

Word? cause me an none of my N's wanted to be one :rolleyes

Im saying tho, speak for yourself. I have friends who rap and record their stuff but they are career oriented and do it as a hobby. If they blow up, cool but its definitely not their primary goal.

Dude up there with the youtube video. Your boy is dreadful.

I believe he opened up for Dom Kennedy once at the Avalon in San Jose. Dude messed up and got booed off stage.

This is one of my childhood homies. His raps are a snooze fest and I've been trying to let him know but don't want to break his heart, so haven't exactly used those words.

Still support tho he loves making music so no hate over here.

How do you embed? Sorry. Give it a click get his views up I guess if you don't mind NT fam.

God damn that was horrible. Rather read a dictionary than listen to that crap.

Atleast your friend is investing in himself trying to make his dreams happen. You should support him. But be honest with him.

Now I can see if it was a rapper friend that just doing a "studio" time at the house and putting no sort of investment or effort to make it...that's a different story.

Like someone said there's other ways to make it in the music industry. Passion is all you need.

I remember by cousin was trying his best to break it in the industry as rapper. He invested so much money and time into himself. Signed to Cutt Throat Committie, then Soulja Slim died. But it kept pushing him. Over 10 years of investments. I've always supported him and was honest with him.
He kept his passion in music.

Long story short, he's the CEO of the label B.W.A. w/ Kevin Gates. Whatever your passion is, you will find a way to pursue in it. Whether it's as an artist, promoter, ceo, etc.

Keep pushing.

My friend tried it years ago trying to make it in rap but ended up getting big headed and lazy. Things just fell apart. Here's a link since we're posting friends video.

Well we posting friends and family...

Here's my other cousin. Love him to death. However, I think he's better as a writer and producer than anything. He's not a street dude so I appreciate him not falsifying in his music.

He plays 4 instruments and investing everything in himself.

Right, but I am speaking of practicality and probability. Chances are, he won't make any money doing this.

That is why I was asking where he currently was in life because if he is an older dude chasing this pipe dream, he might want to change his tune.

Hopefully he isn't using his funds to chase this dream and he has a family

The homie I posted actually is 28 years old but works full time as a radiology Tech. He just enjoys making music I don't think he intends to be famous off it. I don't know how he has 230k views I doubt he paid for views.

Some of y'all got so much hatred.

As long as one is handling his business and has no kids/family that they aren't supporting to chase a rap dream...I say let these dudes cook.

The ones that are delusional enough to think that they can make it rapping usually are the ones that make it. It's not realistic for ANYONE to get into the industry.

Plus nowadays with social media, you can make a living with a few regional hits and just doing club tours/appearances in your few little states. You don't have to go platinum to make a living off rap.

Granted, USPA Big Horse Fella probably ain't gonna ever get past this being a hobby, but even if it's not for me, a couple hundred thousand people seem to be rocking with it so who am I to tell him not to have fun, especially if he has a lil audience?

Sometimes you just gotta let ****** live. If I had a homie who was trash, I'd let him know straight up so there's no surprise when he plays it for people who don't give a damn about him; but I'd let him know if support his grind.

CLEARLY I wasn't speaking of someone like him then

Usually? Really?

You know how many fools are delusional enough to think they will make it? And you are telling me those are the ones that USUALLY make it? Not at all, even then you are looking at a very small minority. Think about what you just typed there man

Re: G Eazy I wasn't gonna name drop him, but I've seen him go from college struggle rapper to rap star so i cosign this statement

That was a general post wasn't really looking to counter your claim at all. I was kind of setting the record straight that my dude isn't out here exhausting every effort to make it so he can make ends meet.

Your post was very informative tho nothing but truth. A lot of teenagers and young adults think it's easy to break into the music industry because of all the outlets there are today but it's a extremely competitive market.
