NikeTalk Live 2016 Charity Auction

man wish I wouldn't have been at work. would've loved to have one of those posters! great auction guys
 
I just received the list of auction item contributors:  

@soysauce23  is the hero who donate the '96 DS Columbia XI's.  (Still shocked.) 

@Jumpmanst  graced us with the promotional Bugs Bunny Wings posters.  

@GSDOUBLEU  was kind enough  to contribute the De La Soul highs, lows, AND the Supreme Jordan shirt.

@jumpman247  donated the Delta Force 3/4.

@ilikeunicrons  contributed the carbon Flightposites.

@nawghtyhare  provided both Halo 5 and Fallout 4. 

@LoveHateSelf  brought a Qualmes mixtape, which was a live event exclusive item.  

Thank you all for making our first charity auction such a success!  
 
Event seems to have been a huge success as I expected it to be! Job well done on putting this together and I optimistically look forward to future endeavors!
 
Major props to all the contributors.

Dude deserves more reps than we could ever give him for donating those Columbia XI's. :smh:

They haven't yet entered production, so any estimate I could offer at this point would be purely speculative.  We look forward to working with our new friends at Mitchell & Ness towards a release and I'll be certain to let you all know once we have a release date. 

As always, the new hats will be used to help us raise money for charity.   

Huge thanks to Mitchell & Ness for partnering with us on this!  I'm pleased that the sample snapbacks were such a successful charity auction item.

Should we be so fortunate as to have Wikia's support on a future event, we'll share that information in the weeks/months leading up to the event.  

We have held a charity auction in the past, with some brilliant artists in effort to raise money for Doctors Without Borders' response to the Haitian earthquake of 2010: http://niketalk.com/t/287692/help-h...custom-sneaker-charity-auction-bidding-closed , but this is the first time we've ever developed a charity auction in conjunction with a live event.  

Extending the auction to our online users was hectic, and more confusing than we would've liked, but the extraordinary generosity of those who bid on and contributed these items was inspiring - so of course we want to build on that success.  

In the future, we may start accepting item donations from everyone in advance - even those who aren't attending the event  - so that we can offer more items and make them available for longer. 

With this event, we had no idea what would be available (aside from the cap samples) until after the event began.  NikeTalk Live attendees were able to start participating in the auction almost immediately, but online bidding couldn't begin until all of the items were photographed on site.  That left us with a pretty narrow window, but, thankfully, you all responded quickly and generously to the offerings - and every single item will sell.  

Assuming everyone makes good on their bids, you'll have raised over $1,200 to prevent domestic violence, and I think it's fair to say that your generosity demands an equally generous response.  Both we and @INSTYLESHOES  look forward to issuing matching contributions soon.  (Hint: you've inspired us to match more than dollar for dollar...)  A separate announcement thread will be made once that's done so we can share the combined total for you after all of the auction items have closed and the matching contributions have been issued.

If all goes well, we're going to do this again next year - with more advance notice, a unified bidding system, and, hopefully, even more items available.

A note for current auction winners:  items are going out starting TODAY for those of you who've already paid.  

We're still waiting to hear back from @airmaxtech  , so if anyone knows him please nudge him and have him contact us ASAP.  If we don't hear back from him, we may have to sell the second and final Wings poster to the next highest bidder.  

HUGE thanks to @INSTYLESHOES  for so generously matching all bids (and then some!) and for helping us with payment processing.  

We look forward to announcing the final donation totals as soon as all contributions have been completed.

Thanks.  

All invoices have been sent.  Seven items have already shipped.  We're just waiting on three people to pay for their items.  

Hopefully that will happen soon and we'll close everything out next week.  
 
I've said it before, but I cant stress how great of a job everyone involved did when it came the whole NT live event. Thanks to those who generously donated all the items auctioned off. Hats off to all of you and look forward to next year.
