Kanye West $53 Million in Debt ... "Mark Zuckerberg HELP !!

Pharrell did every Superstar color under the sun and retro'd the Ice Creams in a Stan Smith but let's give Kanye the credit

Can we stop pretending like he's the only Adidas sponsored personality that's helping the brand?

If there is "renewed interest in the Stan Smiths and Superstar heritage shoe lines", I'm pretty sure Pharrell has been seen in the Stans regularly and did an entire line of Superstars.

They really do need a strong basketball presence though. Dwight wasn't it. D Rose's injuries have hurt them. Not sure anyone checks for Lillard and Wall bounced. Who else is there?

Harden

They should have gave him a sig

Not reading through all of this, but if he is in debt due to his clothing line then he needs less yes people in his circle. Anybody cosigning that homeless person attire and calling if fashion is out of their minds.

Forgot about him. And he should definitely get a sig.

James Harden has a shoe.

They're not called "THe Harderns", but its his shoe from what I understand.

Creating Our Own ‘Yeezy-Halo’ Effect

When Adidas first signed Kanye West, a ton of criticism and chatter followed about whether the deal would do anything to help bring back the brand’s relevancy and allow it to compete with Nike for the top spot in the footwear industry.

While not yet reclaiming the No. 2 spot from Under Armour, Adidas is coming off being the most-liked sneaker brand on Instagram for 2015, having arguably the No. 1 sneaker of year  in the Ultra Boost running shoe, and touting unmatched brand buzz across the board, including renewed interest in the Stan Smiths and Superstar heritage shoe lines.

Not all artist relationships are as integrated into the fabric of pop culture or deeply emotional as Kanye and Adidas. But with a real-time holistic approach leveraging artist passion points and a corporate brand marketing infrastructure, we can leverage the same tactics to “Yeezy-hack” the traditional celebrity brand business relationship.

Come on now. He's not the only one but he's easily the most notable one.

How did you not understand what I typed when it was clear as day?

Easily?

Who had the biggest song of 2014? And was lead vocalist on a song that was #1 for 13 weeks in 2013?

Who is on a popular TV show in the US every week?

I know kids like to say **** just to say ****, but I like things like tangible information before I just throw superlatives out there.

Of course Kanye has brought attention to the brand. That's what he does best now. Attention.

But if you read what I wrote and understood, everything still stands. I'm responding to an article that mentions an uptick in Stan Smiths and Shelltoes. So.....

Come on now.

Didn't Adidas hire mad people from Nike over the last 2-3 years? I remember reading about some lawsuits from Nike.

Kanye definitely got people to wear Adidas again. It's impressive that he has this many followers. Unreal.

They hired 3 designers from nike.. There was an intellectual properties and breach of contract lawsuit against them as well but i think it was settled

 i remember this vividly like it was yesterday.

His influence is probably at an all time high after the Adidas deal had went through

this is true though.

nike really put the shackles on him.

adidas is great at letting their collaborative artists have a lot of freedom to do what they please.

now kanye is much bigger than he was at nike.

Y3 line is the perfect example. ***** amazing where that collaboration started from and where it is now.

and these designers left nike because adidas let them have their own studio and free creative reign at adidas and it is really showing now.

i grew up with both brands and i still wear my racers every now and then but otherwise the brand is pretty boring.

At the end of the day Nike has to not only regret letting Kanye walk, but simply acting as if celebrity endorsements wouldn't severely help them in the streetwear/sportswear market which is growing at a very rapid pace.

since the whole mishap with Ye, they have done collabs with Drake, Don C, Ricardo Tisci etc etc... Under no circumstance am i saying that Nike is gonna crash or even lose their #1 spot (there are several factors and other demographics that effect this battle), but under no circumstance do you want to lose ground in a niche that is heavily influenced by the youth and growing year by year & by letting Kanye walk and go to a direct competitor they hampered themselves a bit.

One crucial reason behind Nike's ability to live with their decision to part ways with Kanye West:

His big mouth. They've stood behind a lot of controversial figures that endorse their products when things get hot. A huge majority of them are athletes, of which Kanye is not. Being that he still wears their shoes in public, a W is a W, without the spaz-fests and damage control.
