Kanye West $53 Million in Debt ... "Mark Zuckerberg HELP !!

Agreed on the creative control and royalties from Nike, but you know damn well those rants were not about having a brand like Adidas work with him laugh.gif

He was asking for a brand that had access to materials, could afford designers and can help with rollout, sure he didn't get the #1 source to do that, but he did get a multibillion dollar company to invest in him. He also seems very pleased with with how the Adidas partnership has worked out

Those rants were about the high end fashion houses he wanted to work with shunning him.

Your right and since that time he has been able to sit with those high end fashion houses, & more importantly been able to hire some of their employees who are now willing to work there because he's legitimized his brand & ideas in that arena.

but we’re also aware that he’s been spending a lot of his own money to reach these mountaintops with his followers in tow.

He's had an entire clothing line for all of a year... this "debt" has been accumulating for damn near years, ever since he first started with Pastel. he himself is not negative 53 illion dollars in the whole. Like any other person doing big business he uses credit and other peoples money to invest in these things, and like damn near any other big business money isn't recouped in the first year, especially in fashion where many designers will tell you they operated in the red for long periods before being able to really make profit

It's not hard to rent out the Garden on a weekday afternoon if you have the $$$

My fault some people wait there entire lives to touch the garden stage, but him having the venue to showcase a clothing line, a new album, and a visual art show is just something that is fairly simple.. along with getting 20'000 people to pay and come see this.

Fashion week is as much about entertainment now as it is fashion the way All Star Weekend is as much about entertainment as it is basketball. So of course he gets coverage and people want to be seen at a show that's getting major coverage. Does that have anything to do with design? Or sales?

so despite celebs being at every show during fashion week as you stated, all the top people in the fashion industry from designers, mags, photographers, models all decided to wait until kanye west had a show to see said celebrities and nothing else.

And social media searches do not = sales. Again, the sneakers moved and he created a good buzz for the brand. But look at the thread you're in. He's losing money on these ventures.

I said impact on the sneaker game, he has the highest searched/talked about shoe on social media, it sells out in minutes whenever they drop, their is a constant demand.... yet you question if he really has made a big IMPACT on sneaker culture
If you look at dudes like Virgil or Jerry Lorenzo, those dudes are finding ways to succeed with theirs. THOSE are the guys you invest in if you're a smart company. Those are the guys REALLY doing some of the things you're talking about (along with Maxwell Osborne and others).

You have absolutely zero clue if any of these guys are in debt (since that seems to somehow be a measuring stick on the impact your product made), One of the guys is literally Kanye's right hand man, who literally sat in the same meetings, interned at the same places & did the same legwork & big him up for succeding with his, but knock kanye for succeeding with his. And two make it worse you name two more black dudes in a business where there might be 5-6 max in their position, only to discredit ye.

Not to Mention that NO they aren't doing what Ye is doing, and their intentions or operations aren't the same as Ye's.

Post like this is why Kanye constantly rants and self promotes himself, because if he doesn't and you let some people tell the story they'll take all your accolades & and push them aside as if they don't exist, because they don't like something about you.

What point are you trying to prove with the Roshe comment, those literally have dozens of colorways, sell for almost a third of the price and are mass produced for a reason. If you add those factors to any popular model of sneakers there not gonna sell out.

There's jordan retros that are sitting in footlocker right now, KD's & Lebrons on sale, Shoes from players who are stapled all over the NBA & media that NEVER sell out and always go on sale. so of course if Yeezy's released in roshe numbers they wouldn't sell out. does that mean that people don'y like the shoe??

And posts like yours are why Kanye believes he's entitled to just walk into the upper echelon of the fashion world without proving himself in the slightest as a designer.

Because some of you dudes literally buy everything he sells.

Unfortunately, it's not REALLY enough to sustain a brand though.

He also rants and self promotes because he has to. Because actions, product and content speak louder than words and in the fashion world, he ain't got it.

The problem is you believe that every bit of media attention, every google search, and sneakers selling out is indicative of major impact (and you did say fashion as well) when these are things that happen every day with or without Kanye.

You don't even make sense in half of these. So a multi billion dollar brand invested in him....but he's asking for more investors.

So he "hired some employees", but is still asking the big dogs for funding.

20,000 people "paid" to see Kanye at the Garden? It doesn't even have 20k capacity. But I'm sure 50, Lamar, Kylie and them all paid.

Yea, you don't exaggerate at all

Of course artists wait their whole careers to play the Garden. Because they can't RENT it

Nike walked away. Major high end fashion houses won't work with him. Rational business decisions are made. But I'm pushing his accolades aside like they don't exist because I don't like him. OK

I get it fam. You believe in the fairy tale. But the real world can't do that.

you really have no idea what you are talking about

What exactly do I not know? Are you denying that dsc was not one of the hottest brands on hypebeast around 07-08 then succeeded to sell out? Then other brands follow suit and what was hypebeast one year because suburban mall brands.

Pac Sun had 350s last drop.

They've had them for a few I believe. The karsahsians and pac sun work together on the Kendall and Kylie stuff, that was some of the earlier breaks into the teen clothing scene. My point has been if the yeezy shoes were more accessible they would still sell. People argue that is strictly over hype and limitedness but they overlook the large majority of the population that has no chance ever to get yeezys. Unless you live in the city it's pretty near impossible to get them. The kids like damn Daniel for example would wear yeezys if they were accessible to them. Maybe not at the premium price point but definitely at something that could be sold at a mall shop.

Stussy has been around since 1980

I don't give a damn bout DSC

what the hell are you talking about?

you act like Diamond paved the way for what Stussy does, this is the bubble crap I was talking about with NT

Diamond definitely paved the way for stussy in the suburbs. Diamond opened up a lot of the suburban kids to street wear. I am specifically talking about the suburban teen maybe 20 years old demographic. I suggest you google damn Daniel and see what kind of kid I'm talking about. These kids represent disposable income by the boat load and would be the perfect market for yeezys to make a boat load of money off.

My marine bio teacher when I was in 10th grade said she wore Stussy in the 90s. I had on a tee from them one day. She also taught me how to pronounce it properly

I guess the Florida must be different never saw it in any malls in the 00s. To be fair none of the target demographic I am talking about were around for half of the 90s. So again this is with millennials specifically.

i don't own any kanye apparel for the record

Kanye believes he's entitled to just walk into the upper echelon of the fashion world without proving himself in the slightest as a designer.

He feels entitled, yet he's spent 53 million dollars failing and retooling his line up until he got to Adidas, He's also done sold out collabs wit LV, Nike, APC (x2) Bathing Ape, interned for Fendi, and at this point has spent the past 7-8 years working on his craft.

He also rants and self promotes because he has to. Because actions, product and content speak louder than words and in the fashion world, he ain't got it.

Once again considering most of his stuff sells pretty well outside of $3000 coats, im gonna say your just talkin out the side of your mouth.

The problem is you believe that every bit of media attention, every google search, and sneakers selling out is indicative of major impact (and you did say fashion as well) when these are things that happen every day with or without Kanye.

If someone has a shoe that literally sells out in minutes everytime it drops, crashes websites, creates a buzz to the point news articles are written about it, and is the most talked about shoe on social media (you know a tool that major corporations follow to help keep track of brand interest).... and all of this is based on a Kanye SHOE i would say that person is kind of making an impact.

So a multi billion dollar brand invested in him....but he's asking for more investors. So he "hired some employees", but is still asking the big dogs for funding.

You just said working with him isn't a good business move but yet a HUGE multi billion dollar apparel company has invested and continues to reinvest in him for his apparel ideas. He is now looking for another company to invest in other ideas & projects that Adidas wouldn't be able to handle.

I'm sorry 18,000, and yes i exaggerate because i'm sure of that 18'000 a majority of them were celebs, who didn't pay to get tickets......... that boy Kanye Must be someone really impactful to bring out 10'000 plus celebs

Of course artists wait their whole careers to play the Garden. Because they can't RENT it laugh.gif

In the REAL world there isn't exactly thousands of people who can book MSG during the start of fashion week, have every big artist, publication, designer, executives etc etc take time out there schedule to come watch his show.... because you know unimpactful people just do **** like that whenever they want.

So after all this fairytales are things that are imagined... that don't happen aren't real. Now let's Look at FACTS

1) Kanye West is signed to Adidas and is receiving continuous funding to create his brand
2) he Has now had high demand products with Nike, Adidas, APC, LV
3) His sneaker was the most searched and discussed sneaker of 2015
4) He Rented MSG, had an album release, fashion show, and visual art installation in front of 10'000 + paying customers, along with broadcasting the show worldwide in theaters, where "Gasp" more people piad
5) He has went from many people in the fashion industry not even taking meetings with him, to them coming to watch his shows

So REALITY says you are talkin out your *** per usual, and you live in a fantasy world where things that Kanye is doing isn't impactful at all.... and then we switch back to reality and your clicking your heels about sheep and people m too much credit, yet somehow someway here you are again discussing Kanye for the millionth time along with all the "stans"

Be blessed sir, and go get you an ultralight beam or something :pimp:

Oh you know since we're also talking about brands and impact of a shoe..... This is just Zara which according to Forbes is the 58th largest brand in the entire world... apparently someone at that small business decided that this sneaker just had to be released as part of their collection which earns about 14 billion yearly... I wonder what unimpactful fashion designer they took this design from :smh:

Yohji Yamamoto?

You are fully lost son.

You're talking about collaborations with established brands and I'm talking about HIS brand.

Most of his stuff sells pretty well huh?

http://www.highsnobiety.com/2016/01/15/kanye-west-yeezy-season-1-sale/

They must be talking out the side of their mouth too?

Oh, so social media is a tool that major corporations follow to help keep track of brand interest? Sure. But I'd say SALES supersede that by far  Because that's what actually provides overhead.

But that's the point you're missing. The social media hype is the fairy tale. The sales are the reality. That's why 1500 album streams = one sale.
That's why 100 MILLION TLOP streams would equal 66,000 albums. Because what happens on the internet isn't really indicative of what happens in the real world.

The major influence on 10-15-20, maybe 50, maybe 100k people he has is minor when you look at the population.

That shoe, even if it was influenced by him, isn't keeping Zara afloat.

I didn't say working with him isn't a good business move. It seems like the companies he REALLY wants to work with believe that though. Hence the rants. Or did those not happen.

If Adidas was fully invested, why is he in debt? Why is he looking for more funding from other parties? Why are we in this thread?

So every "big artist, celeb etc." was at that show. That's what 50 Cent is now? Besides GOOD Music, who's in there?

But you keep harping on social media and celebs and all that other **** while the real world keeps spinning. Let's harp on renting out MSG, which undoubtedly sunk him further into debt (you don't even make money selling out MSG at top ticket prices unless you do multiple nights).

You're going to see it how you want to see it. Nobody used the term "sheep" or "stan", but if the shoe fits.

And PS, I don't need to go get me an "ultralight beam". I have real **** like a job and a family
