Has Kanye's Era Come To A Close?

Not at all, if anything this is just him being on some other.

He's shown on TLOP that he can still make those songs old Ye fans like

And he can still control the media whenever he pleases. Far from over.

The shoes sell to make profit. People buy them second hand because of false status. Clothing line reeks. SNL sucks. Kim's a mutant. Graduation was and is still the best of all of his albums. Late Registration comes 2nd. Wash rinse repeat.

Pretty much a PERFECT summation.

Influential, how?

I think a lot of his fans have convinced themselves of this, but I don't see it. At all.

Obviously there are people who will eat up whatever he says/does, but there are just as many who think he's nothing more than a delusional, self-serving, idiot who isn't nearly as "genius" as he thinks himself to be.

He needs help. Rhymefelt alluded to this as well.

How is he influencial? Have you walked into an H&M or Zara in the last 4 years? How about a Hip Hop artist post 808's (Drake, Big Sean, Travis Scott, Wiz, The Weeknd, Tyler. etc...)? He needs help for what exactly? Being extremely successful at his craft and his brand? Well I'm sure joe shmoe knows more about how Kanye should be acting than Kanye. He's the most polarizing artist out. And if you don't realize that's it's intentional than you're misguided.

Era is far from over but at this point in his career (and what i've heard on TLOP.....) I'm interested to see what else he has to offer. I support the evolution as an artist but unfortunately you can't please everyone in doing that and/or the reaction might not always be what you expect. No matter what, its going to be done his way.

I can't believe I've never seen that photo before.

MERCY.

Also somewhat misguided to believe you know what his "intentions" are or are not.

Unless you know the man personally.

And even then, people you know personally will surprise you.

Rhymefest is "joe shmoe" now?

Well, this album was pretty good. But not great nor excellent. So yeah OP, his era is coming to an end.

Especially if "Views" drops and is stellar and if Future drops another crazy project.

Alright, if you get straight men to wear skinny jeans and rock hand bags then you obviously have some "influence". But is that kanye or just cyclic fashion trends or a combination of many factors? But more importantly, who really gives a **** about men's fashion? lol Great men fly under the radar while flamboyant court jesters get all the credit.

Drake had an opportunity to.drop new music while the world was focused on Toronto because off all-star weekend and some how Kanye was able to make him chose otherwise.

Kim pre-surgery was one of the baddest in the game. Now she's just a bunch of swollen parts.

Reggie Bush and Ray J probably thinking “My ex says she gave me the best years of her life / I saw a recent picture of her, I guess she was right”

I think his era is definitely on the decline, alot of fans abandoned his music while the new generation will move on to the next it person eventually.

NT's mentality when it comes to Kanye:

He has to drop a classic, hip hop impacting and culturally disrupting album anything less he's fallen off.

"Kanye last album wasn't a classic? BUH! He's fallen off, no longer relevant."

After everything is said and done and Kanye is no longer relevant that we can stand back and see what he really contributed. Most are caught up in the cult of celebrity and can't see straight. Right now he is just straight up crazy.

I'd like to know what you guys are expecting from Kanye. most disliked yeezus, and when he went back to God for some reason it isn't what you expected?

If this mans time was over, MSG wouldn't have sold out in 10 minutes. Not surprised if he mc hammers off of his clothes tho.. I see no bad female leaving with you wearing those baggy militant clothes.. He shoulda stayed foreign, way better look with apc if you ask me

boys paying thousands for 350 yeezys but don't own any roshes which look exactly the same and have the nerve to dress up in em

Kanye is very relevant

his new music been trash for a while tho

lol how do you know whether or not they own any roshes? Also, that speaks more to the sneaker culture than Kanye's relevancy, dudes were paying that price for shoes Halle Berry designed for crying out loud. Kanye is trying his hardest to remain relevant, his twitter is the biggest indication, he just tweet irrelevant BS for the sake of getting RT'd by a bunch of kids.

Its actually a pretty good question. I think everyone would agree that Kanye has been the most influential artist in urban music for the past decade or so. He pretty much changed the sound of mainstream hip-hop. I feel like now we're at the point where we see a lot of young artists who dont necessarily sound like they were influenced by Kanye, but sound like they were influenced by artists who were influenced by Kanye. If that makes any sense.
