Has Kanye's Era Come To A Close?

I cringed during the end of SNL when everyone was saying goodbyes and he was busy doing the most, advertising this shirt with absolutely no finesse. Wasn't the fact that he was paying tribute to his mom and Rob Kardashian, he just was so in to himself that he didn't even say goodbye to any of the cast.

-One of the top 3 biggest names still in rap
- just dropped a very much anticipated album
- everybody and they momma wants yeezys
- contrary to what NT likes to think, album is being pretty well received
- 3 threads alone here on the front page discussing the guy
Lol yeah the kanye era is coming to a close.

 that is completely false

You say this a few days removed from dude holding a listening party/fashion show from (sold out?) Madison Square Garden.

What other musician let alone rapper is doing **** like that?

Sold out $200 sneakers, TIDAL #1 App from his album, etc.

The quality of his music is one thing to be debated but influence and fame wise this low key might be his highest point.

Kris Jenner and him probably sat down and came up with this marketing plan. People don't wanna see a happy and boring Kanye they want the bad guy, the dude that's gonna wild out and get the ratings at the award shows.

I stopped rocking with Kanye once he became entangled with Amber Rose/Kim K. Everything else after that point became irrelevant to me.

He has piqued in my opinion. College drop out, late registration and 808's and heartbreak kanye is no more.

He got the two biggest SHOE threads on NT in the Nike and Other Brands (Adidas)section

He still the biggest rapper in the game, even though he hasn't put out a traditional rap album since MDF.

He was just on SNL

Sold out Madison Square so people can listen to his album :wow:

He made Tidals subscriptions go up like 10000% in the last 48 hours

I think he will be ok

Yeah, this thread makes zero sense. What evidence is there that suggests his "era" is coming to an end?
How doesn't a thread not make sense? Especially when it's asking a question that's not rhetorical. There's plenty of evidence which suggests, including his own freestyle on SNL which acknowledges this very question.

Wouldn't say his era has come to an end at all...

But dude just hasn't been the same since his mom passed and now he has the Kardashian curse working against him.

And he shot the club up and sprouted 2 seeds

Where is this "plenty of evidence"? There are lots of questions you can ask about Kanye especially with his recent antics. This question is not one of them because it's damn near rhetorical.

I think if his next album is a dud then he needs to just stick to fashion full time.

The album is just a mess. Has no direction no nothing. Feels like just random sounds put together.

His era is definitely not over. This whole buzz for the album put him back in the public eye once again and that's one thing that he knows how to do time and time again.

That's how I see it

Basically how I stated on the first page...

Didn't really see that anywhere but ok,I don't think his "era" is over with btw. The fact that he still warrants the amount of attention that his antics are getting is evident to that no matter how out there his actions are. He's still one of the biggest names in the biz

Despite her family's reputation for being vapid, energy sucking leeches and life destroyers, I believe it's just what marriage does to someone who loves their mate. You're kinda out of the game. I feel like he believes people will hold it against him if he takes some time off, be part of his wife and kids' lives and return in a few years when they're older. I'm married to a beautiful woman, and have very handsome sons. I know the feeling Kayne is experiencing, in fact most husbands and fathers do. Hope he knows he can't stay young forever.

You feel that he's reaching his washed phase though,I don't

I don't feel that way at all though. I just feel he's reached a stage at his life, an identity crisis, where he's torn between "young and reckless Kanye" and "Mr. West the father and husband". And it's perfect okay, it's part of our growth as men. I commented a few days ago about throwing my whole sneaker collection in the garbage when I went through a quarter life crisis because most of my wardrobe was business/casual attire. I felt that shawl neck cardigans and dress shirts were appropriate for a father my age. But then I came to my senses and reached a healthy balance. I'm pretty sure Kanye's crisis is a lot different from ours because he's rich and famous.

...but we can tell when a guy just doesn't fit in with the young crowd anymore and starts doing the most. I do feel that's where Kanye is right now. Again, I hope he understands it's normal to feel that way and finds his balance.

Going through a mid life crisis doesnt mean his time on top is over. He's obviously not really doing himself too many favors with his tweeting but I feel like folks will still be checking for him when he drops new music in the future. He's also expanded his pursuits to an extent that he doesn't even really need to drop music to be relevant.

I agree that he does seem torn right now between who he wants to be moving forward, hope he can figure it out soon and find some semblance of inner peace even though tormented Ye has dropped some heat .
