11.22.63 starring James Franco from Stephen King produced by JJ Abrams HULU exclusive

Bit confused..so once he goes into the closet for good and buys the car/bets on the fight..he can't go back to the present or else it'll reset everything right and he'll have to start all over right? Because they show scenes of him and the diner dude discussing Oswald deep into the episode and I was wondering if he was going back and forth between time periods
yeah it resets everytime he goes back to the future

Yeah those are scenes from their talk that went all night

Theyre taking plenty of liberties from the source material but I'm not entirely mad. As long as they follow the general flow of things and do a good job I'll be happy.

Such a big part of Stephen King's writing is character development and the way he does it may be interesting to read it often times struggles to be translated to the screen

Was just thinking why he ditched the iPhone

But i can see how it could've caused him trouble when he was being interrogated by JFK's security team

And he went back to the diner so hastily. All he brought with him is the research paper folder.
At least get the haircut, shave and a new suit in present time. How hard could it have been to get stacks of counterfeit 1960s bills before he stepped through.

Doesn't this take place in the same universe/setting as IT?

All his stories vaguely take place in the same universe. Least there's normally references to other stories in some of his books

In the book, he does run into Richie and Bev because Harry is from Derry (so it's safe to say the Dunning's murders coulda been residual effects from it). However, in the movie, they simplified the story so the Dunnings are from Kentucky instead of Maine.

Didn't know there was a thread for this show, I actually enjoy it. Kinda hard for me to take Franco too seriously, he always has that pineapple express look to him. The show is pretty good, haven't watch the final episode yet, but will this weekend.

I hate to be that guy but I really wish they stuck more to the book.

That being said this still was rather entertaining. Last scene was on point

Will there be a season 2? This show is just too good. This and American Crime Story have been my favorite shows this season

Never read the book so i was expecting some crazy twist..welp

It was decent I guess, overall. Nothing I'd ever watch again tho

You haven't finished right?

Plus he can only travel to 1960. He doesn't have flexibility there

I've finished. Yes, he can only travel to 1960. He stayed there from 1960-1963 (Nov). He could easily stay from 1960-1968 as well.

I know it's based off a book, but it doesn't mean they couldn't write a story/plot for a second season, with or without James Franco as the lead.

But the result of stopping things is clear

The original point of stopping the Kennedy assassination was to stop the events coming after it including the MLK assassination. I just don't think it would be very entertaining considering we know that the outcome would be bad.

I liked Deke's poem that old Sadie recited

"We've been given pain to be astounded by joy" is a good line
