Air Jordan IX Wht/Black/Red HOLIDAY 2016

most of the time this is true, but I was shocked when the "barons" came out. As I recall that thread was buzzing pretty loud. Seemed like those were somewhat hyped and sold pretty quick/well. All it takes is some sort of theme and it sometimes blows up just from that. Doesn't work all the time but that one sure seemed to. I bet if the term "bred" never existed there would be at Least 10% less "sneakerheads" right now.
there are certain cw's in unpopular models that cause the masses to come out. i expect that on these
yup and just like the dude said, barons didn't last

I think the reason I identify with these so hard is the era, they came out in. Junior year...

Yes friends... The nostalgia is high with these. Id really love to see more confirmation of their drop though.

I grabbed (2) pairs from the last release that I can no longer fit so I'm in for this release to grab my true size.

Not a fan of the black bottoms. Anticipating this release. Passed on the last release, because my 2003's were still wearable. JB is releasing a lot of stuff that is pushing me out.

All star game mvp, should have specified. Thought it would have been more obvious since the pic in question is from the asg.

me neither. They're actually decent. I like the white bottom better still but those have definitely caught my eye. Would like to see from the side view

I wonder where Mike is @ on that pic!? He never played in these right [emoji]129300[/emoji]
I believe that's just a pic of him hanging out at the arena and working out and stuff like that. There are pics of him in them doing sprints and stuff as well.

It's funny the IX'S don't get a lot of love, but came out @ such a pivotal time in hip hop culture.

Outkast, Biggie, Pac 3rd album, Jordan retirement.
Because they're bulky, relatively ugly, and the 10's came quick. All while the 1's, 2's, and 3's sat for $20s as a joke shoe.

I disagree that the AJ9 would be bulky. They are one of the most narrowed Air Jordans back then. AJ 3 and 4 are bulky. Especially the OG 4 are looking super fat like some skaters sneakers.
The main issue that the 9s did not well was the 1st retirement of MJ plus the colorblocking was too extreme for most. The dark charcoals and dark powder blues were ok though.
MJ indeed wore the OG white/blacks during Bulls training before he retired in late 1993. And the North Carolina outfit commercial with MJ. MJ later wore the white/blacks in the movie space jam and the cool grey retro+ in a few games in 2002.

The problem with the AJ9 is entire back half has a sort of boot like shape to it, and the midsole looks a bit bulky. OG 4 had a pretty narrow and ugly (OG 3\5\2010 6 style) toebox, but they def did it a service by cutting down on the height.
