Air Jordan IX Wht/Black/Red HOLIDAY 2016

Man these shoes bring back memories, I can't believe I was leaving middle school and about to start high school when these last released.

Remember watching a worn once 2002 pair in 2006 on eBay with a current bid of $40 with 3 hours left. I ended up falling asleep watching TV and woke up to find the auction ended at $40. I was sick. :x

^crazy story, but yes these have eluded me for some time now but not for much longer. I keep saying no more jays but these appeal to me so much.

Taking it back to the OG's for a minute...

Lot's of cats don't remember but when Mike initially retired, all the heat Jay's had immediately dropped...Around these parts cats moved on to Barkley's and Runner's...

See as a kid I was blessed to be able to get two pairs of sneakers a year, usually what was on clearance...Once for the start of the School Year, and once around Spring Break...

1994 Spring break hit, parents took me to the Footlocker on Trop and Mount Vista (Old school Vegas heads know)...Almost got these (Which were already on clearance), but ended up passing for a pair of the blacked out Air Force Max CB's, a great shoe in their own right...The main reason for the pass was because my parents were actually letting me purchase a pair of kicks that were full price and had just recently released...Few weeks later I ended up seeing an episode of Fresh Prince with big Will and Jazz rocking the IX's to Jazz's wedding...I immediately regretted my decision and no amount of begging would get the folks to bend on hooking it up with yet another pair of sneakers...Fast forward to the start of the '94 school year, school shopping time, wasn't sure what I was going to get but I was still hooked on the IX's...Much to my surprise, when I hit up ol' FTL again, they still had these in my size and marked down to $59.99! Parent's loved the price and I walked out with my fresh "Old" Jay's...Kid's clowned at school but I loved those things to death...

Somehow I've never actually purchased a pair of retro IX's...Usually something else is happening at drop time to pull the funds away...

Anyway to end cap the long story...

Side note, honestly though, who remember's when the '02 pair dropped stores were dying the uppers black to try and move them? Might have just been a Vegas thing...I toyed with getting a pair around All Star weekend in 2002 but passed for the Adidas Kobe 2's :smh:...Closest I've ever come to actually getting the retro...Hopefully this year's release is good to me...

I do remember guys here aswell dyin them to get the next best thing to charcoal's which has yet to make a return, also as the guy mentioned above its funny how once upon a time you could not wear an old shoe in new condition without being clowned a bit lol....

People just assume everybody who posts early pairs are fake. Yes, 99% of them are (SwishSupply, sneakerer, etc.) but I've watched dude's posts for a while and believe him and 2muchsol3 are the real deal.

So chickenwop is legit then? Everything I read on this forum is a contradiction, this is why I only buy from my FNL plug and the SNKRS app
they are not legit.

Just think for a second, these guys make posts having one or more pairs, maybe even a stock room of "early pairs". So nike/jb makes multiple "early" pairs of each POPULAR (not all retros even get early pics) shoe with many shape/handing/cut/material flaws and then sends them out to Instagram sellers? These shoes are not authentic at all. The metallic 5s fromjb's December preview looked different from wop's pairs and all of the other early pairs. That December pair was an actual early sample product that looked as well constructed as the retail product that came 7 months later, realchickenwop and the other's pairs never look that good.

I remember when the last ones released they sat for a hot second... Can't wait to get a clean pair! My last ones were super comfy

Like I said above I've never had a retro of the IX so I'm at a loss for sizing...On the up side of that these should be easy to walk into a local store and try them on...TB 3's the week before and the Space Jams the week after will have these sitting easy...

vegetaray123 vegetaray123 it was the olives that were getting died back then. I remember seeing them in a mom and pop store a few years after the release with the died suede.

Seeing those OG Powder Blue IX's just reminds me that they need to do a remastered color way retro of it again. Those 2010's I bought just aint cutting it.

^They need to stop with IXs until they fix the direction of Jumpman and can find a way for the midsole paint to not crack so much.

I'm almost certain the official product will have the correct facing jumpman. It defeats the whole purpose of these being remastered if we're just gonna get the CDP/2010 pair

It would cost a lot of money for them to re-do the tooling to fix the Jumpman. I honestly think they won't fix it because the majority of people who will buy these are used to the retro Jumpman, unfoetunately.

I mean people were complaining about last years Bords and Aquas when they were more like the OGs than the previous retros of those respective shoes.

^^ exactly look at bords and aquas. They paid attention to original detailing with those. Why would these be any different?

I can't wait for a remastered pair of these. I might have to double up if these are as comfortable as my 2002's were. Put a pair in my gym rotation.

I turned those down so many times I sort of regret it. Those were so cheaply made.

These Aren't Actually Remastered.
