Is the hype around Jordan Retros finally over?

Hype around GR Jordan retros is dead, limited J's still have an insane amount of hype... If those ugly DB 13s can successfully generate hype, you know it is still alive for limited J's.

I stopped reading after this comment "Also clients no longer know who micheal jordan is". I wast around when babe ruth played but still know who he is.
That is the realist statement I have read in here all day.

Jordan just stopped playing 12 years ago.

To be fair, Chuck Taylor is known more for his shoes nowadays than his contributions to basketball...

but Chuck Taylor didn't really have any real contributions as a basketball player. people should at least have the slightest bit of idea of what MJ did as a player.

Doesn't really matter if it's over or not (which it most definitely isn't). It still left us in a state of emergency. I don't even know if it's salvageable at this point. Even if it did 100% die down and people didn't go crazy over JB's hype tactics anymore (which will never happen) it still pretty much ruined the consumer market for basketball shoes.

Do these "Boutiques" know that sealing the shoe from getting oxygen kills the leather?

I would think the effect would vary from shoe to shoe given that JB uses different materials (i.e. patent leather, durabuck, nubuck, tumbled, etc. Etc.). I guess time will tell which models hold up better/worse with this storage method.

no one cares about jordans like they used to, especially when mj was still playing.  the hype for j's is alot different now with the majority of the market never actually seen mj play ecxept in old videos.

jb and nike looks like theyre running out of ideas to keep the brand alive other than making money off cheap made 'nike air' shoes, sick children collabs with fanboi hip hop lames...

it is impressive to see the brand jordan started to last so long after he retired....it just feels like the end is near for JB at least for me.....

Well either way if "hype" does die it's all cool with me...Imma still cop what I like and could care less what society or the next man feels

true except jb does not agree.  they follow what the people want and if there is no more interest for them jb will no longer be around which come to think of it will never happen.  right now they are making way too much money with the brand.  remember they have soo much more merchandise they sell globally other than retroes...

exactly...they will make more off flights etc more than any other shoe brand...they will always kill it...I do think they should chill with retro plus colorways and only drop about 3 or 4 classics a year

WC iv sold out tho

But the last few releases have been garbage. Only dudes who been collecting shoes for ages wanted them to releases. No one cares for maroons or any Viii And what not

nah, it can be true though

was talkin to dude in his early 20's who considered himself knowledgeable on baseball

...and dude didn't know who pete rose is...i know he's not mj...but walk around as a baseball fan & not know pete rose...

people are so bombarded with pop culture these days...there is little time or space in the brain to catalog old pop culture

it's come to a point where I enjoy a pair on someone else's feet instead of mine. I still appreciate the shoe while having the extra few hundred still in my wallet.
