Born and raised in the Bay!

And before you bring up E-40, yes I know you can't really understand him either which is why even though he's pretty much the King of the Bay, I never really rocked with him. Was more into 4Tay, RBL, Dru Down, Celly Cel, Luniz, etc

Keak da sneak sound like he excited as hell to tell u something but he gotta whisper it in your ear.

 Yeah I forgot to mention Keak but i wasn't sure if cats outside the Bay, knew who he was. Now THAT fool is on some other ish too.

I have no clue what he's saying in Super Hyphy either.

I mean I go out, I don't listen to radio but when I put it on for 5 min I'm aware of what they're constantly playing. As far as hip hop I know w/e hot single is gonna get played once or twice every hr just like when I was growing up listening to good music. I know what ******* dance to in the club. I know that part of fans like to party to but hip hop music isn't strictly party music b.

Yall dudes be high on several designer drugs and then start throwing the word classic around after a fun night or maybe that one time you got some drugged up yambs.

This isn't really about taking something serious or not. It's stating an opinion and not hiding the displeasure and unhappiness with the state of hip hop music.

I find it funny, the same ppl loving these drug raps, calling them classic are saying open up and don't be serious

Like you're only seeing it one way. It's not that the side that thinks this music sucks doesn't know how to have fun, we just think that music really ******* sucks.

It's like a hippie telling somebody to chill and it's all about free love. No I don't want to drop acid with you. No I don't want to drink candy and cough medicine and listen to a lame mumble and yell with the help of autotune.

It's not even that Future is bad (which, unfortunately to myself, he and Rih Homeyyyyy Quan are indeed awful). It is the "prisoner of the moment" mentality of most of these listeners.

Like, they literally listen to nothing else. Most of these fans don't rotate enough artists, or genres to have a stance or objectivity. Where were all these suburban and middle class "trap" fans 10, 15, 20 years ago? Heck, 5 years ago.

I despise discussing music with some people, because they don't listen to many other artists, anyway. If people were more objective, these topics would not be required.

U.S. education system needs to start funding music theory and the performing arts. Once the government cut music funding in schools, here is what we have today...

He does mumble at times but generally I can understand him well and English is my 3rd language.

When I see people saying they can't understand a word of what Future is saying I have to question their intelligence.

Either they're strongly exaggerating or just don't grasp the English language but I don't see how anyone whose native language is English has trouble understanding him.

"No tears today, nothing but kisses and hugs
For ****** and thugs, who missing from pistols and slugs
Saw his momma, and she spoke and put her head down
Made me shed a tear, and I want somebody dead now
Rest in peace
I'mma ride for you, wodie
You know I'm thinking about you everytime we get loaded, but true thugs
They don't learn until they burn
That's just like me, but God ain't never gave my turn
Wicked ways off sherm, got me addicted to these streets
"Am I next in my casket?", is what I ask my peeps
So pray for me, how I'm gonna learn when this ghetto life was gave to me?
Why I do right when hollow tips on the chase for me?
How many times it done went in one ear out the other?
From your momma, your grandma, your auntie, and your brother
They try to tell you right, cause they know that you a hustla
They only tell you right, cause they love ya"

Well said, I mean I literally listen heavily to everything from metal to classical to the blues to conscious rap to ignorant rap. Objectively that future album is terrible musically but I get why people like it. I just feel bad for the kids who think that is all music has to offer. Just to prove a point I put out an ignorant rap mixtape in college, took me 2 days.  We didn't have autotune back then though so I did what I could on my friends macbook.
Future is my personal favorite artist but I listen to a broad range of music as well.
Hiphop, EDM, some pop (Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber), R&B, various forms of metal, ...
I can appreciate some classical music too.

The problem with a lot of music fans is that they don't show respect for different tastes and artists they don't like.

I don't really like Kendrick for example as I've said before but I have great respect for him as a person and artist.

I see his appeal and talent, the effort he puts into his works but musically it's just not really my cup of tea, and that's fine.

Dudes in here were acting like it's some kind of mortal sin that I personally enjoy Future more than Kendrick, Nas and Jay-z. Doesn't mean I think Future is more talented or objectively a better artist, I just enjoy it more.

Many people just say "(artist) is garbage" if they don't like something without acknowledging their artistical merits.

Future's garbage. Dude sounds like he mumbling, sometimes drowning. I do not see the appeal in this guy.

Folks in here calling future a damn artist like thats not disrespectful as hell to actual artist. :x :smh:

I thought future was a joke like the chocolate rain guy or something. Like some made up internet thing. I'm not even trying to be funny or try and clown, I just didn't think his act was real. I'm just gonna chalk it up to "not my cup of tea" and keep it moving.

I thought it was a joke too. Along with Cheif Keef and Young Thug. It seems like once Lil B blew up, ppl started liking rappers that would usually get made fun of. I.e. Riff Raff.

Im 29 and I can't really get into the new southern, autotune trap stuff. Too much of it sounds identical to each other.
