Rich Homie Quan Spits A Freestyle On Tim WestwoodTV

Yall dudes be high on several designer drugs and then start throwing the word classic around after a fun night or maybe that one time you got some drugged up yambs.

Lol, you should venture into the Future thread. I like Future as much as the next man, but the slurpage is a little too much in there at times.
I be depressed when I look at the first pg of the Music forum. The bulk of threads I have no desire to enter. Not even highlight the title and get an idea of what's last posted.

I use to stay in that forum HEAVY.

Meth laying down the law was one thing but I been knew as hip hop goes so does that forum and it's more than a wasteland now.

There's this perception of him that he's soley a mumbling, druggy, turn up rapper....and that couldn't be further from the truth if you actually listen to him.
That's the problem though, I can't understand what he's saying. I remember in the NYC is done thread a few ppl posted songs from him or rappers like him (I honestly can't tell you the difference between dude in the thread title, Future, and Young Thug) and they were terrible. Yet dudes were swearing by it calling it dope and claiming it had content.

Do I have to learn a new high on something language to get how "deep" he is?

How on earth can you not tell the difference between RHQ, Future and Thugger?

They all have very distinct sounds, you'd have to be near deaf to not be able to tell the difference

The same way "all black folks look alike".

Dudes arent trying to like it.

"Its from the south?" :x

It's always funny to me when rap music is discussed in general. It's like watching white folks dabbing. They look lost.

It really is  that's why I like when music related posts end up in general, cause it's worlds different before it gets buried in the music forum

I don't really differentiate between trash.

I also never endured any of their songs beginning to end.

I wish it was that. It'd be easier to hate on on such a shallow level.

I can't even get my hate on with this. I find no joy in coming up with creative ways to tell you how much these guys suck. They just suck.

Saying those 3 sound alike to me is not the same if I came outta pocket and said J. Cole, Andre 3000 and Bun B all sound alike. I can tell the difference with the latter, not the former.

This definitely isn't some southern bias. Plenty southern rappers I mess with. This is a dislike of crap rappers and their trash music. Don't matter where they're from.

Question for those who think Future mumbles, where are yall from?

I dont hear it. Then again, Im country.

I'm from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Lived in Atlanta, 2.5 years for college (From 2011-2014).

Sidenote: Mumbling + autotune = :x

I thought it was a joke too. Along with Cheif Keef and Young Thug. It seems like once Lil B blew up, ppl started liking rappers that would usually get made fun of. I.e. Riff Raff.

Im 29 and I can't really get into the new southern, autotune trap stuff. Too much of it sounds identical to each other.

Future is 32 years old, don't feel bad bruh

Exactly
Out of curiosity...who?

I feel the same as way Zik too.

But to name some

I respect Krit, the kid Raury sounds dope too. Of course Kast is an all time fave of mine. I got love for southern hip hop but its just hard to get into newer cats like RHQ and the likes. Its like everyone uses an auto tuned migos flow over a beat that subs. Missing that originality

Yea Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, and Juicy J are all in their 40s or pushing 40 to put things in perspective

So who you listening to?

Wale, J. Cole, Kendrick, ASAP Rocky, early Chief Keef, Lil Herb, Bibby, Mick Jenkins, T. Scott, Joey Bad*****, Denzel Curry, some Drake, Rich Boy, etc.

Older guys?Outkast, Nas, Mos Def, Jay, Pac/Big, Redman, Wu Tang, Rakim, Kane, Tribe, De La, EPMD, Brand Nubian, Lauryn Hill, Mc Lyte, Cube/Snoop, Little Brother, Z-Ro, Face/Geto Boys, T.I., Trick Daddy, Hot Boys (B.G is my guy :pimp:) etc. Etc. I can go on.

I just can't vibe Future. He reminds me too much of all the fake, scammer, type dudes I grew up around. Musically, good beats, lyrically he is acsssss to me. Them"hood rich" phony n_'s

Scarface (and of course the Geto Boys not to exclude the group)
Outkast
Mystikal
J. Cole
Little Brother
Justus League
Cee-Lo Green
Goodie Mob
Rest of the Dungeon Family
Trick Daddy
Trina
Bobby Creekwater
Pastor Troy
Da Clipse
Pharrell
Mannie Fresh
Juvenile
Slim Thug
UGK
Jay Electronica (yeah I know he got like 14 songs to his name)
Soulja Slim
Jazze Pha

I never really did know where Da Brat was from, does she count?

As far as party music I definitely enjoyed mid/late 90s early 2000s No Limit (and the 504 Boys)

EDIT - Oh wait DC counts as the south? I see Wale mentioned.

First of all, beats that drop is pretty much mandatory. You could spit the cure cancer, "if it dont bump bump in the trunk.." thats just how it goes in the south.

FYI Future came before migos. Folks swear its no bias but is obvious.

I listen to southern rappers = I have black friends.

It's funny. The people that are actually from the environment that hip hop was born from...understand and rock with future. But you got these fake smart outsiders that try and talk to down.

Dudes claim this guy isn't hip hop...when all the legends show him luv. Highly respected. Nas, Hov, 3k...all the guys these "real hip hop heads" swear by...enjoy and understand futures music .

Da Brat is from Chicago. Moved down to ATL, after being discovered in a talent search, I think

Jay-Z also cosigned Amil, M.O.P, Sauce Money, but tried to put J. Cole on the backburner, only wanted Kanye's beats, initially

Nas cosigned his brother Jungle too....

Nas is my favorite rapper, also 3K. But I don't give a rats behind, who they cosign.

I don't give a **** who shows him love.

I see it as yall can't accept somebody thinks somebody is whack. So you come with some angle. Now it's fake smart outsiders. Aint no complex reasoning to the opinion. Some just don't feel his music like you do.

Besides, you got guys out here who are long time fans and some think Nas or Jay or 3K are whack. Every rapper aint for everybody. Especially the super whack ones.

Da Brat is from Chicago. First album was fire :smokin

I'm in central VA which is the south depending on who you ask and I agree with that trunk statement for the most part. And we like futures mumble mouth music lol

But I get how people don't like it [emoji]128064[/emoji] **** ain't rocket science. I don't like MOP and my uncle still shakes his head at me for it.

Damn fam, you got a cassette player in the whip?

Outside of UGK, Scarface and Outkast a ***** will tell you to turn that old *** **** off. (Slim basic as hell to and Jay...will you know)

On some real ish though, I'm curious to know what a Future, Thug, Rich Homie concert will be like in the future..

For example, when Rock the Bells was still going on, and they brought back cats that people grew up with, everyone is reciting their lyrics, etc.

I'm pretty sure cats won't be doing the same with these dudes...Ehh, actually, i guess you guys have the internet now to HELP you understand what these artist even said in the first place. :rolleyes
