Rich Homie Quan Spits A Freestyle On Tim WestwoodTV

I also never endured any of their songs beginning to end.

Exactly

This definitely isn't some southern bias. Plenty southern rappers I mess with. This is a dislike of crap rappers and their trash music. Don't matter where they're from.

Out of curiosity...who?
Scarface (and of course the Geto Boys not to exclude the group)
Outkast
Mystikal
J. Cole
Little Brother
Justus League
Cee-Lo Green
Goodie Mob
Rest of the Dungeon Family
Trick Daddy
Trina
Bobby Creekwater
Pastor Troy
Da Clipse
Pharrell
Mannie Fresh
Juvenile
Slim Thug
UGK
Jay Electronica (yeah I know he got like 14 songs to his name)
Soulja Slim
Jazze Pha

I never really did know where Da Brat was from, does she count?

As far as party music I definitely enjoyed mid/late 90s early 2000s No Limit (and the 504 Boys)

EDIT - Oh wait DC counts as the south? I see Wale mentioned.

Damn fam, you got a cassette player in the whip?

Outside of UGK, Scarface and Outkast a ***** will tell you to turn that old *** **** off. (Slim basic as hell to and Jay...will you know)
I do not play a lot of current southern rappers in the whip  Also it's my opinion that there aren't any new good Southern rappers out there like that.

Besides lets not front like all this aint digital now :smh: I aint even old yet.

And you have the audacity....

Being vulnerable, honest and dependent on vices to get you thru aren't "real enough" emotions for some of you I guess. Rapping about lost love. Messing up. Lost homies. Perils of growing up in the slums. Drug abuse. Child support are common topics in many Future songs. Even the ones ****** are mindlessly turning up in the club too. A lot of the stuff is relatable to me...my life experiences...and some of the environments I came up in.

Y'all just hear "lean", "trap" "Molly", "turn up" over trap beats & auto tune......and decide to tune out, and lump it in with a genre of music you don't like. I'm not saying dude is always saying something groundbreaking....but he really be saying some REAL SHT.

But hey man. Done trying to explain the appeal. Music really is subjective. You'll hear what you want. I enjoy Nas just as much as I enjoy Future. Back to the topic.

Plays that dope Rae Sremmurd freestyle :pimp:

I think it was you Wavy in that thread in the music forum trying to tell us to give it a listen. That was a few months ago.

Didn't work then man.

Yeah. It didn't work in YOU and Grimey. Who knows what people turn around and like once given a different perspective. I remember hating on Bobby Smurda a lil when he came out. Got a different perspective on shorty...and became a fan over time.

Future's music is therapeutic to me. My medical condition just gets worse and worse but whenever I'm feeling a little down or get some bad news, I can put on some Future and just forget about the struggle and cheer up. I've shed tears to Future's music.

Like his music or not, that's subjective, but you can't tell me Future is a garbage artist.

Wavy thinks lil b makes good music tho

Lil B has made enjoyable music. Lil B is also a world class troll. Kinda like you in the NBA thread.

My top rappers of all time include: Boosie, Gucci, 02-07 Lil Wayne, Jay, Pac, Future, DMX, Max B and Lupe. Guys from many different subgenre sand different sounds in hip hop.

Right now, I enjoy listening to Future, Cole, Kendrick and Kodak Black amongst some others. I have some of the best hip hop taste in music on NT. :pimp:

Yea right

First of all, beats that drop is pretty much mandatory. You could spit the cure cancer, "if it dont bump bump in the trunk.." thats just how it goes in the south.

FYI Future came before migos. Folks swear its no bias but is obvious.

I listen to southern rappers = I have black friends.

Where did I say anything about a "beat drop"? I understand the dynamics of hip hop, I am an artist myself (mc/producer)...."first of all" so I totally understand lyrics are nothing without unique delivery and a decent beat.

And I know future isn't new, if I'm not mistaken, he was affiliated with the dungeoun fam.(loved "even in darkness" when I was a freshman). And the migos flow isn't new either, but it happens to be trendy right now and your boy future is part of that fad/trend. Which makes him blend in with those cats. The same cats on my XM radio be sounding like future, vice versa.

Haha dude what???? @ that "I have black friends" analogy. Totally uncalled for, I like 90% of the artists Zik just listed. So its not about being bias. Its about quality, timeless hip hop.

Bruh a beat with "drop" with means bass.

That's what I'm talking bout, you getting lost in translation via text, how you supposed to understand what a ***** rapping about?

Just because YOU don't understand it doesn't mean it garbage, it just isn't for you.

Dude throw around "garbage" like we live in a landfill.

My dude, u didn't say "beats with drop", u said "beats that drop"...one is an action the other is more of an adjective. I know what it means when a "beat drops" like I said, I make beats.

And where did I ever say I didn't understand what these dudes talk about, all I'm saying is a lot of it sounds regurgitated frome the next trendy rapper.

Also, if you can show me where I said it was garbage?

If I don't like it, I don't like it, doesn't mean that I'm hating...

My bad, if your post wasn't directed at me. trill

I don't understand it cuz I literally don't know what dudes are saying most of the time

Every post it's something new.

EXACTLY

I did catch the part where he said he about to order a pizza  Don't know what he ordered though :smh:

That stuff is so much worse with autotune and echo effect they use :x

So, for those who are a fan of this kind of music, are these freestyles good in your opinion? Like when you watch these videos and listen to them, do you say, damn he can spit, or he killed it.

Nobody in there right mind thinks rich homie's "freestyle" was good....

Now that Gucci Mane and Rar Sremmurd Freestlye....went in though.

Hell nah

For freestyles Ima listen to Los and people like him. But I'm not bout to spin Los tracks recreationally. Sometimes I just wanna hear somebody rapsing ignorant **** over hard beats.

Gotta diversify man. I never get these music arguments.

I just wanna say I do not like RHQ at all. Felt like that was necessary

Not a Rich Homie Quan fan but the freestyle in this thread is most definitely terrible.
Young Thug's freestyles are trash too. What matters to me is all the greatly enjoyable music he gives me. I don't think I've heard Future freestyle, wouldn't care if he was also bad at them.
