OG Nike Air Jordan III Retro True Blue BLACK FRIDAY '16

So I'm keeping my pair but am wondering if anyone can give advice on a "white" touch up paint to use? Mine have flaking/cracking or missing paint in a couple spots. I can deal with it but wouldn't mind touching the spots up carefully. Or should I just use shoe white or something? Never had to touch up paint my shoes before!! 2 spots. One about the length of the air pocket basically no paint at all (this is the one that bugs me most), and one spot same size that just has the look that they missed a second coat there. And couple small cracks or flakes other areas that aren't really a huge deal but could touch up there too while doing the others. I can deal with the shoes no prob, just want to touch them up if possible and didn't know if anyone had experience doing this successfully. Hate to do it only to find out that my touch up paint yellows or stands out over time.

Nah. Take it back to Nike and get a new pair. That's ridiculous.

Yes sir. Been wearing these everyday since they dropped pretty much. No cracking, nothing wrong with the midsole. With all the complaints the 2016 model got. At least they did this part well.

Love when your shoes don't look like **** after some wears. I remember my 2011 pair cracked and chipped a little even after wearing them a couple of hours.

3) These are actually much more comfortable to wear than my 2009 TBs, and also more comfortable than my 88s as well.  Padding (especially around the collar area) is much better on the 2016 than on the 88s or my 2009s, and the insole is great.
1000% agree on the '09 TB3s. There's like no padding at all!

Nike has never claimed that EP was ever uniform or consistent. A feature has to be measurable to be reproducible.

@javylsu Thanks for the comparo. For me, that was the main reason I got rid of my '11 TBs. They felt like bricks. Nothing like my '01s. But you hit the nail right on the head. Which no one really mentioned. They are equivalent to the 88s. That was my first impression when I held them in hand. Especially the toe box leather.

Nah. Too many other issues with these. As sucky as it is, I ain't going through the hassle of an exchange only to get a pair that's more jacked up. I'm gonna wear these so they will flake and crack more over time anyways. No one will see the flaws besides me most likely. If I was buying these for a collection, this would be a different story. But I just gotta be reaslistic here and accept them for what they are. Only thing that worries me is cleaning them. I'm afraid the paint is going to flake worse in them spots once I have to clean them the first time. Guess I'll find out soon.

A customer returned a pair of 10.5 to my Nike Outlet today and I had to cop it for my GF. I got a SUPER STEAL and  paid 123.20 after my employee discount and 20% off hash. Now my girl and I can be all matchy matchy.

Can I get a pic :nerd:

My NDC pair arrived, and these I'm keeping.  Not perfect by any means, but more than good enough (especially by JB standards) especially since I got them on discount.  Just for fun, I pulled out my pair of 88s to compare, and here's a few thoughts...

1) I don't think anyone can argue that craftsmanship on the whole for this release was pretty bad, but the leather is just fine by me.  I've been laughing at descriptions of the 88s and the 2011s as having "buttery" leather - anyone who thinks that needs to hold them both in hand and see for themselves.  IMO the leather on the 2016 TB3s is every bit as nice as the ones on the 88s and my 2009 international release TB3s.

2) The elephant print cut and darkness was pretty much the same as the 88s.

3) These are actually much more comfortable to wear than my 2009 TBs, and also more comfortable than my 88s as well.  Padding (especially around the collar area) is much better on the 2016 than on the 88s or my 2009s, and the insole is great.

4) The Nike Air backtab is MUCH nicer on the 2016 TB3s than on the 88s due to the fact that the 2016s are painted all around, instead of just the outer surface like on the 88s.  I may try to paint the surrounding plastic on my 88s to give them the same effect.

5) Oddly enough, the label on my NDC pair came on the box instead of the lid, but I'll fix that myself with a blowdryer this weekend.

Enough blabbing, on to the pics:

I have both and I disagree about the leather quality, at least for the main panel. I think the 88s are noticeably way better, even in your picture of the toes you can kinda see it but in hand the 88s feel a Lot better.
Elephant print is similar just more of a tan color. Agree with everything else you said though, especially the back tab although I think it looks cool both ways. I wouldn't paint the back tabs on those Katrina customs if I were you. I wouldn't change a thing, those look amazing!

After reading thru this thread took a closer look on mine from SNKRS. The left heel tab is crooked and don't match the right one. You have to be damn near eye level for it to be noticeable. Still think overall these look a lot better in person than in any photo or video.

I gave my snkrs pair a good look over last night. They look fine to me. Question for guys who have worn theirs yet...any paint chipping?
