Steph Curry is the Greatest Basketball Player of All Time

I don't get it lol

So calling Lebron James "bron bron" is some sort of emasculating thing or something? I'm confused lol

Best shooter of all time.

He'll be in the conversation for GOAT if he can maintain this pace, but I think we should probably just enjoy what he's doing right now and not rush to rank him against players who have played full careers. He has a long way to go.

Greatest shooter of all time. Needs to keep doing this at this level for a few more years to be the greatest player.

As it stands now, he has 1 title & a playoff run that was so impressive that he did not win finals MVP despite facing opponents that had a critical injury in every single round.

Like c'mon. And yall know how silly it is to take one/two seasons and extrapolate that over 8-10 years.

Just relax. Also remember you don't win titles & finals MVPs in February, no matter how good you look.

When it's all said and done, he'll be universally claimed as the greatest to ever play.

I called this **** when he was Davidson too, man.

Sure you did.

Y'all dudes always wanna be the first to claim something man.

The only person on here I can remember who came even remotely close to predicting Steph's run these last few years was  @Antidope
when he called
him a future Hall of Famer still relatively early in his career when the ankle issues were still a thing and when "Monta or Steph?" was still a debate among some Warriors' fans. And his opinion (like most of Antidope's opinions  ) was scoffed at, myself included.

As for the topic of the thread, y'all can get your hot takes on I'm just going to appreciate the greatness Steph has been displaying the last two years. :x :pimp:
Now you all are witness. Antidope the prophet.

You were bound to finally get something right eventually

For those who love stats (which is all of you, of course)
Steph Curry is set to obliterate the Offensive Box Plus/Minus record

Right now, the record for a single season is 9.82 by Jordan. There have only been 9 seasons in NBA history where a player's had an OBPM > 9 (including Steph last year).

http://www.basketball-reference.com/leaders/obpm_season.html

This year Steph's OBPM is 13.2.

Other records he has a chance to set:

PER:  currently at 32.98, record is 31.82  by Wilt

http://www.basketball-reference.com/leaders/per_season.html

BPM:  currently at 13.3, record is 12.99  by LeBron

http://www.basketball-reference.com/leaders/bpm_season.html

Win Shares/48 minutes:  currently at .340, record is .3399  by Kareem

Translation: He's on the verge of giving us the greatest statistical single season we've ever seen.

He is a level we have never witnessed and he is already probably the greatest shooter i have ever seen. But he needs more years under his belt of greatest and then he can be considered a legend or whatever.

My personal measure of greatest or GOAT is based on the idea of ultimate. Is he the "ultimate" basketball player? Can he be amazing in every situation on the basketball court defensively and offensively, Like Magic or Jordan or Kobe or Lebron. Curry maybe a better shooter than all these guys i mentioned but in other aspects of the game he falls pretty short.

In all seriousness,

He isn't.

But he definitely has an argument for the highest peak of any player in league history.
THIS ... he picks his spots ... scores in the paint, mid range, from 3, pull up, catch and shoot, unlimited range ....

let's say he does this for 2 more years ... 29 is considered peak year in NBA ... then he tails off for the next 6 but still puts up 20 pts on 40% shooting from 3... he will work himself into top 10 all time ...

take the above and add 4 total chips then we're talking top 5 all time ....

all plausible scenarios given how he is dominating right now ... who knows what will happen but i'm going to enjoy because this is legendary stuff this guy is doing. The efficiency is the driver ...

plus ... the audactiy to take a 38 footer to win a game when he didn't have to makes me say NBA RANK got it wrong and had him too low ... and i initially thought he was too high on the list

GOAT shooter; probably.

GOAT tho; Steph has a LONG way to go before he's brought up in that discussion. Not just another 1-2 years either.

MJ, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Kobe etc. >>>>>>>> Curry.
Why?
Because those legends proved that they played high level basketball almost in their whole career and not just one season.
You hype Curry now like people hyped Lebron in 2012-2014.
When he fails the sh*tstorm will be quite awkward.
Better just enjoy the game and wait how he finishes his career. His first 5 seasons were ok/good but not on Superstar level like this year.
During their first 7 seaons

glad you posted this ... so Kobe averaged 7.6 ppg on 41.7% , 15.4 ppg on 42.8% , 19.9 ppg on 46.5% fg, 22.5 ppg on 46.8% ... the next 3 seasons Kobe averaged 27.9 on 46.1%

Curry averaged 17.5 ppg on 46.2%,18.6 ppg on 48% fg, 14.7 ppg on 49% fg and 22.9 ppg on 45.1% ... The next 3 seasons Curry averaged 26.2 ppg on 49.1%

So please tell me why you made this statement ... The kobe comparison for Kobe is very similar .... Kobe had more rings at this point ... but what high level differences are there in the first 7 seasons comparison that you have to say Curry is just doing it for one season....

This season is already better than Kobe's legendary 05-06 season ... which was the probably the greatest regular season NBA thing i've seen before this season ...Curry is taking 7 less shots than Kobe did in that season

Kobe has the longevity but sometimes you can just enjoy the history that is being made.

We are 7 seasons into his career and it mirrors Kobe quite well. Difference Curry's peak is > Kobe's, Kobe will have a 3 to 1 or 3 to 2 edge in rings and Curry will have 2 MVPs already ... more than Kobe had in his entire career.

Point is do not act like these legends were from day 1 legendary. Kobe had to grow into his legend just like Steph is doing. Sit back and enjoy

Curry is a monster, i enjoy watching him play.  he plays like me when i was balling  but far more efficient.. lol... not joking..

My dude got DESTROYED in 09 for his approach, but his point turned out to be dead on.

His belief was Steph shoulda gone #1 over Blake, but he phrased it by saying "look for an OJ Mayo type" and that set everybody off on him.

But, he did pick the guy out of the draft class, and he stood his ground. Sadly, the thread was locked, so I couldn't gravedig, but I could at least screen shot that this stuff was goin on in here 7-8 years ago. From Davidson days.

 so many prisoners of the moment.

How bout we revisit this when he gets more rings?!....at least 4 or 5 more.

Why can't people just enjoy what they're watching? Steph might not even be the best shooter of all time. No way in hell is he the greatest of all time. Guy is playing on a great team. I never hear any backlash for all the bad shot he takes and misses. It's exciting and fun to watch but there's a lot of bad basketball being played. It's funny as hell. I knew this morning, people would be calling him the GOAT and ****. Let him do this for the next 5-6 years. Then say it.

.

AS MENTIONED BEFORE 1 RING 1 PLAYOFF RUN YOU DON'T GET RING FOR REGULAR SEASON......

Rook has been found in the "LBJ hate thread" caping for his man over there. Mental note has been jotted that he knows nothing about sports

Anyways Steph looking like he got his mojo back. Salty he didnt come to the Knicks.

EASY there buddy,,maybe the BEST SHOOTER of all time same category as Larry Bird,,but being a GOAT,,nah i doubt it,,win more than 6 RINGS,ROY,Defensive Player of the Year,FInals MVP,AS MVP,successfull businessman and BILLIONAIRE(did i miss anything) when he retire few years from now, when Steph accomplished that,,you can call him the GOAT but i doubt it,its gonna happen to his young career ,,he can enjoy what he is right now because Steph is definitely is the BEST SHOOTER/PLAYER by far right now
