OFFICIAL 2018 FANTASY BASEBALL THREAD

Cant lie, Tanaka scares me. Hoping we get the '14 version opposed to last seasons.

Season long - you think Severinos k% sustainable? 1 per

Who needs a SP? I could use at bat and my pitching is strong enough for me to trade Zimmermann

Picked up Nicasio this morning and dropped Fister. Don't even want to wait and see how he fairs in his first start  .

Picked up Souza. Not a fan of his per say, but he does have good power. High K% though. If he cuts the number down this year and stays healthy, though, legit 25 HR guy with a .350 OBP potentially.

I hope Starlin Castro keeps this pace up, gives me an extra trade piece in Ian Desmond if he does

I didn't even realize this thread was up, (fantasy) baseball back.

Nicasio was well-advertised as a SP sleeper. He escaped Coors for the far more favorable PNC Park. Searage has worked wonders with Burnett, Liriano, Volquez, Happ, and Worley since 2012. Cervelli is surprisingly much-improved behind the plate defensively. Nicasio's FB sits in the mid-90s with the complementary slider. You could do far worse for a #5 starter.

I gotta drop a reliever, Tolleson or Rodriguez?
K-Rod has a longer leash with only Mark Lowe really pushing him in Detroit at the moment. I am alarmed that Rodriguez's velocity has tumbled recently and he's 34 years old. His line-drive rate allowed is also above the league average past 4 years.

Tolleson has both Kela and Dyson pushing him, very good alternatives. I think Banister opts for Dyson in the 9th if Tolleson continues to struggle.

Do I wanna pick up Rickard or Span and drop Alex Gordon or stay put with him? My other OFs are Heyward, Pederson and Parra. (H2H)

Denard Span is intriguing in SF with a hot start so far, but I'd stick with Gordon for now. Rickard is a player I'd flag on my watch list. See if Showalter continues to bat him leadoff. Don't get used to the power (fluke HR), Rickard only hit 13 homers in 350+ minor league games. It wouldn't be out of this realm for Span to channel remnants of his '12 (Minny) or '14 (Nats) seasons.

Repped sir. I wanna say Span is the better choice too - but I have both on my watch list.

I took Alex Gordon later in my draft, so I'm not necessarily attached to him.
