Type of **** that makes me want to look her video up.

Way too much money.
 
the publicity of this ruling is probably going to increase the amount of people looking at the video...

i don't have an issue with ruling...they ****** up and should deal with the consequences...

 Erin Andrews Awarded $55 Million in Lawsuit

The jury has awarded Erin Andrews $55 million in her civil lawsuit over the secret recording and release of a video showing her naked during a hotel stay.

The sportscaster's original suit asked for $75 million from the owner and operator of the Nashville, Tennessee, hotel where she was staying, and Michael David Barrett, the stalker who used a hacksaw to tamper with her room's peephole and record the video in 2008.

The jurors took photos with Andrews after the amount was announced, and she signed autographs, according to reports from inside the courtroom.

West End Hotel Partners, which owns and operates that Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University, has said Barrett's criminal actions were his responsibility, not theirs. Barrett was convicted in criminal court of stalking Andrews and sentenced to two and a half years in prison.

Andrews, 37, testified last week over the course of two days during the trial and broke down in tears at several points in talking about the effect the 2009 release of the video online has had on her personal life.

The closing arguments for both sides ended Friday and the jurors were sent into deliberations after arriving in court this morning.

Marriott is sure to appeal and Barrett is broke so Andrews will likely receive only an iota of that $

Her stalker calling up the hotel and them telling her what room she was staying in and letting him book the room next to her was kind of a wth move. You never know what weird : dangerous stuff a stalker will do.
 
as already mentioned, she'll be lucky if she sees a sizable fraction of that money...

the hotel owner (not marriot itself) was found liable and barret (her stalker) spent his life savings following her around traveling around and staying in different hotels, just trying to see her naked...
 
If dude was more unstable she could've been murdered. Small price for that **** up. Just imagine the terror she felt when she found out.


Damn I thought it was Marriot paying out.

Her lawyer's strategy of making the trial a cryfest and her wearing no make up for sympathy worked. She came up in more ways than one from this. She profited from the video and although the Marriott messed up by saying that in court, it was the truth as she got endorsement deals and became the host of DWTS. If this means this talentless hack is off television I'm for it. She's worried about her rep when she's already thought of lowly by her female peers and viewed as a jersey chaser.

Damn. Sounds like you don't like her. She's pretty established at fox so I don't see her quitting that gig anytime soon. And I definitely think she would've rather this not have happened no matter what probiotic commercials she's gotten.

Eh, I used to be mad about it especially when some nt'ers would victim blame and I would also see posts about women deserving to get raped or beaten. The internet is always going to be stupid and disgusting. If some nt'ers act like that in real life then I wonder if people actually want to socialize with them.
