Why is that your problem? If Nike didn't have their business together, they wouldn't offer the whole 30 day trial.

If I really like a shoe that I just purchased and they hurt my feet, I might try to keep playing in them to break them in. If I am not satisfied within the given trial period, I will return them.
I couldn't agree with you more. If it weren't for the 30 day return policy/trial, I would not own any Kobe IX elites. But I was confident that if they didn't break in that I would be able to return. They ended up breaking in and I ended up buying all the Elite colorways of that line. They hurt my feet the first few days and became really comfortable after.

Clearly struck a cord with some of you guys. Would you be OK wearing a pair of kicks that some cat wore for 29 days and returned but Nike failed to deem defective?
Not sure what Nike does with returned worn shoes since I'm not quality control for Nike. Bottom line is that the 30 day return policy/ trial period is being encouraged by the employees and it worked in their favor in my situation because I ended up with countless pairs of shoes that were hurting my feet in the beginning but eventually got broken in. Also, I didn't know that Adidas adopted the same return policy as stated by motoyuki motoyuki . If it were such a bad business decision to have this 30 day return policy/trial period, I don't think Adidas would have converted the same policy.

Do you know for a fact that Nike sends out returned products that have been clearly used? Because everything I've bought from them looked to be dead stock. I highly doubt they would try to resell worn shoes. They probably donate their used returned pairs.

I don't know where he got that idea from. Everything I've purchased from Nike appeared to be dead stock similar to your experience. Yes, I think they donate or participate in some sort of reuse-a-shoe program for worn shoes that have been returned.

So you intend on playing in them for a few sessions and returning them back to Nike as a defective product or just flat out returning them? 'Cos if it's the latter that's simply not fair to the person who might end up purchasing a 'new' pair of shoes. :smh:

It's clear as day that the shoe is NOT designed for wide feet so and the synthetic materials do NOT stretch or give.

Generally speaking you're supposed to wear a shoe indoors, casually for about half hour to an hour in order to gauge fit before actually using them to play, etc... That way if you do have to return the shoes the person who ends up buying them ends up with a pair that's essentially tried on as opposed to be being broken in, which is what you intend on doing.

Wrong, wrong, wrong

They don't sell used shoes man, come on bro

The return policy is in place to encourage sales. They openly want you to take advantage of their offer.

And if you really think you can wear a bball shoe for 30 mins walking around indoors and then know if they'll work for you on court, you are crazy, and prolly never touched a ball. It's not unusual to have to play full games, multiple times, before knowing if a shoe will work for you. And Nike wants you to return them if they're not working.

Returned shoes are either sent to outlets or have the materials recycled from what I've gathered over the years, don't think they're gonna send out some nasty worn out shoes

Nike has such a generous return policy because they believe in the product they sell.

You don't tell someone try something out for 30 days and return it no questions asked unless you know your selling a good product and that you will not have many take you up on that offer.

lol, nike wont sell people shoes that are clearly used. clearly tried on? yeah, they'll sell those again, but not clearly used.

plus its NIKEs return policy, they're the ones that made it and im pretty sure they thought of these occurances when they created it. I dont understand dude at all.

The Kobe XI Milans have an engineered mesh upper. I've only used them casually so I can't tell you about how they perform compared to the translucent. However, someone did ask me on the Kobe XI thread the same question and I did a little comparison of the rubber compound based on feel of the outsoles. http://niketalk.com/t/632186/official-kobae-xi-thread/26100#post_26494632
I guess I won't be buying one. I hear way too many bad things about the on-court traction of the translucent rubber and I'm afraid of getting it if it seems like the Milan's outsole would just be the same.

I guess I'll just be waiting for my KD 9 blackout instead.

My local HoH's still have the preheat 9's for sale, mostly FSR left.

Wonder if they'll ever go on sale? Still a new model, haven't seen any KD 9's go on sale at retailers.

The translucent sole does suck real bad on dusty court. You better be on a pristine court or wipe frequently.
Wow.. Looks like I won't bother with any translucent outsoles with the kd 9 or kobe 11. With the kobe 9, you can't even do that on purpose

Wearing them for the first time? Cause my Pre-heats were bad the first time I wore them. However the traction broke in nicely after a few runs and performs up to par with with solid option now.

From my experience, the traction (gum bottom) didn't need any breaking time and i play on a dusty court.

Slid in her DMs like.

I still dont ynderstand how the traction is diff dependimg on the color of the outsole

It must have something to do with the compound used to make the outsole. It's not the first time I've seen mention of outsole color having an effect on traction quality.

Yeah I guess a break in is mandatory. I've broken out translucent soles (Curry 2 ASG and Kobe XI) on the same court, it wasn't as bad as this. The sole does have a slight gloss to it. I'll break them in the hardtop and put them to the test again.

Do they have any USA in 12.5?

Damn..got the translucent on my Kyrie 2 iDs. Gonna have to test them out

Finally, after hemming and hawing and waiting for some decent cw's to release, I saw the preheats available on footlocker.com and put in the order.
