Wow, I didn't know he was still doing reviews, even though it's on and off apparently. But still, that was very nostalgic reading the KD review. Seems like he took a big step away from basketball shoes for a while and there are moments where it kind of shows in the review, but overall, reviewers could still learn a lot from him. You can even scroll through some random old reviews he posted like for the Jet Flight.
Lots of people on NT probably have no idea who Prof K even is. The godfather of basketball shoe reviews in my book, although I'm no expert on sneaker history and all that.

Prof. K was the reason I started in the first place. When he quit, I came here in the Review section, when it was a thing, and did the T-Mac 6. That got me noticed by Counterkicks and the adidas designers. We still talk sometimes - he is STILL the master.

I've been waiting to cop the KD9 since the Olympic color way came out. Been wanting to wait till they went on sale and $99 sounds about good to me. I think they will still go lower but I am to impatient to wait.

They've been there for weeks. I kinda want them but for my size they've always said in store only, and none available in the stores in my area. I've actually travelled to a few cities and checked for those zips too and never seen any. Maybe could have them check the system but I'm kinda meh on if I want em

Prof K and kicksology.net were amazing back in the day. Still have my kicksology.net t-shirt. I used to frequent the website looking for his insightful reviews. Can definitely see his influence on mulitple reviewers that came after him. Glad to hear he is doing well. His ID pair is pretty sweet.
I'm very tempted to pick up the latest red 9s that just dropped. Love the colorway. I'm hesitating though because I'm not sure I'm going to buy another pair of 9s. I like the design and some of the colorways are terrific. Support is great and transition is good - especially for a full length air bag. I've had 2 pairs of GRs and 2 ID pairs so far and I've had inconsistent traction on good courts in all 4 pairs. I've also had inconsistent zoom - three of pairs have softer feeling zoom which make the shoes feel a little mushy. The zoom is great for working out and light games in all the shoes, but I struggle with playing league games in them. I just feel I have to play slower at times in my 9s because the traction and softer zoom. It can be frustrating. Hard to justify buying another pair when the performance has been spotty. If I buy any more pairs it will likely only be on steep discount.

What pairs are softer and which one was firm?
I just picked up pairs 2, &3 for me. I'll hoop in em soon (xmas and blacks). My first pair (gold medals) although I don't have a comparison, prob falls into your less responsive/mushy category. I felt less explosive but I kinda attributed that to subpar lockdown IMO.

Mic Checks and two ID pairs have the softer zoom. My Summer Pack pair has the best traction and firmest zoom. It's strange the inconsistency of the zoom and traction.

Yeah. I'm thinking if Kobe 11 could be had for half off. I'm guessing you can soon get the KD 9 for around half off too. For $75 or so.
Right now, I have all the color's I want. Unlimited pair is cool, but when I tried them on. They look weird on feet.
Pretty much waiting for the purple/obsidian pair to go on sale as well, might grab those.

Got $200 Kobe 11 Elite for about $80... couldn't pass up on it. Check House of Hoops, mostly all colors are $99 now.
I agree that the KD9 on-feet look a specific way... not so much for me.

Just picked up a pair of Oreos at the Nike Employee Store in Toronto.
They also had the blue Game Royals. Would've copped but they didn't have my size.
So far I just have the summer packs and the Oreos.
All I want now is the Red & Whites and the Game Royals then I'm done.

copped the multi colors yesterday. To my surprise they rang up as $99. Came out to $108 after tax....I didnt know about the $99 price drop sale, as I fully expected to pay the online sale price of $134.99. Huge W in my book!
Anyways, loving these in person....strictly a hooping shoe for me. Excited to try em out tonight!

I thought it was me...glad to hear I'm not the only one feeling the subpar lockdown. I have a little heel slippage in my left foot ( I think it's smaller than my right foot). Anyone else also have a little bit of dead space up in the toe area???
