I'm betting that they'll keep the current air max line with the current 360 sole. That's why this is the vapor max (a new line) and not simply the air max 2018. They want to see how people like it. Seems like it feels much different, so people may not want to migrate to the new solw like they did through the iterations of the air max 360 soles over the past decade. Personally, I like the look, and looking forward to feeling them on foot. These will NOT be limited, and will ultimately go on discount. I'll wait for a colorway I like and get some on discount. These current colorways may be limited, but rest assured the vapor max will be plentiful!

The upper looks too good to be wasted on an Air Max sole. Yeah, I said it [emoji]128513[/emoji]
They should've used Lunar, Zoom or that ZOOMX sole, so people can achieve their running goals. SMH

I tried on the platinums yesterday. Upper is definitely wider than the Racers. However, the toebox is more shallow, which may be a problem for me.

is this the only other lowtop flyknit runners that has no padding by the heel cup other than the racers?
other flyknit runners that has no padding and pure flyknit tends to have the ankle collar, just curious how Nike makes those decisions
Nike seems against putting flyknit on soles with encapsulated zooms like Pegasus, Vomeros, etc...

just noticed that the newer Free RNs doesn't either, really curious how Nike decides which gets padding and which doesn't because I think the LunarEpic lows would have looked better w/o padding like it's ankle-collar wielding relative but I digress...
so what's the consensus on the sizing on these? I'll probably go for the IDs and I'd hate to have to get that in the wrong size...

^ the lunarepic ones just reused the flyknit max upper, which was originally padded. They probably had padding based on how heavy the maxes were. They must have just opted to keep the epic twos with a similar upper/feel.

The Zoom All Out Flyknits don't have heel cup padding as well. The only Flyknit shoes that has Zoom Air, I believe, are the Zoom All Outs, the Zoom Streak Flyknit and the Flyknit Racer (forefoot) and Trainer (heel). I THINK the purpose of doing so is to eliminate extra structure and weight and replicate the sock-like fit as usual, and the rear Flywire that connects closest to the heel is a replacement of adding that extra structure from a design and ergonomic standpoint like the Flyknit Racer does.

Like in the new ZoomFly and VaporFly, their goal and main marketing is to cut down on your marathon time yet only the Elites (not available to the public) has flyknit while the general release had an em upper and padding. As @ILLustRAYt stated, the flyknit upper should have been used there especially if the marketing gimmick is trimming a few milli-second of your time.

I was able to snag a spot at the NYC Sneakeasy this coming Saturday. Tempted to make an ID, but also have an eye on the "OG" colorway

The initial Flyknit Lunar sample didn't have any padding. Neither did the first group of Flyknit Trainers. People complained that the Trainer was cutting/rubbing the back of their heels and we got the padding.

Lunar Flyknit 1s had padding, I have the MC pair.
I have the OG trainers without padding and I never had the rubbing problem.

Isnt the "OG" colorway gonna be online though? Im convinced Sneakeasy is mostly a waste of time.
Theyll release ID eventually, especially when these things start hitting the outlets 2 months after release!
