Nike HyperAdapt: 1.0 and Adapt BB

I could see Odell Beckham wearing them pre game or something to that effect.

Right. I don't expect laces to disappear from sneakers, just like how buttons didn't kill the draw string or zippers kill buttons. But I don't think it's a gimmick, I think it's the start of another fastening system that will transfer to other applications. We just have to wait and see.

I agree, should be interesting what they come up with. I'm down for a pair of these though for sure.

Are they really going with that lazy *** swoosh on the tongue? How late 90s of them.

For the love of god please make it say NIKE like on the Mags. And maybe Hyperadapt 1.0 under it if need be. I shouldn't even be having to type this.

Also, if they didn't look like Dad shoes that'd be great.

idk about a gimmick just to make some money...its not like their pockets are tight..alot of technology is still around from 30 years ago..all the air maxes always retro..new air maxes are made yearly.. i thought the same thing about nike shocks, that it as a gimmick...hell even nike shocks are still around..i see people wearing brand new pairs..the last thing that nike has abandoned was the fuel band and that wasnt even clothing or footwear it was just dumb esp with the smart watch scene warming up. this is Nike we are talking about..the big boys on the st. they have been working on this tech for years so i think they have a future for it..the lady seems very excited for whats to come...then again if there is any company that could just make anything just to make money..fluke or not..nike has the money/ power to do it. but just imagine a pair of air maxes with the auto-laces..ughhh would be cool...laces are a big part of a shoe so some may have a problem with out them as they are style purposes
many jordans have showcased gimmicks that rarely ever stick. 20 strap, 2009 high heeled bball shoes, 2010 window, 2011 and 2012 interchangeable Frankenstein bootie system, and the one that seems to have actually caught on so far is the unlocked zoom although I wouldn't be surprised if that's out the door in a year or two. They abandon gimmicks like this all the time. This one is just getting more attention because of how unique it is and the fact that people are anticipating it on a hyped shoe. Not saying that it couldn't catch on, it's just unlikely imo unless they work flawlessly and are practical which is doubtful. who knows though I may eat my words if they prove to be the 2nd coming of Christ

If they're under $300 I'm down for the black

Probably won't rush to pay $300 tho. Would have to see em in store and to try em on

okay im taking nike not jordan.

the Jordan numbered sneaker totally different and is a story in it self. the sneaker evolves with time and also shares the dna of previous shoes. the jordan sneakers 1-30 are like a person that has grown to an adult....as each jordan sneaker shares the similar look of the one before as the 3 to the 4.. the 12 to the 13. they look similar with slightly different new features..just like a car and a slightly new body style.

maybe the bootie system was a new thing..but its not like they spent millions of dollars on it.they tried and let it go..plus you say a strap is a gimmick???...straps on sneakers will never go out of style and have never been kicked to the curb by nike. the window on a sneaker? thats just an exterior feature for looks..just like the bullet holes/imprints on the side of the 13s. its just for looks..they arent going to keep the same look over and over..your basically talking exterior features.. im talking technology. i really dont think nike would go crazy like this for no reason

nike is Jordan. also, yes some of those are cosmetic features the point was they were all pretty much one and done or maybe 2. I'm talking about the way they did the 20 strap with the tab... even though I didn't have a problem with it, was kind of a gimmick and if you look I don't think any nike shoes after that utilized the same system. What I'm trying to get at is Nike hypes up what they're doing as something extremely great and groundbreaking, only to do away with it entirely the next year. If you look at the evolution of nike shoes pretty much the lasting significant tech changes are non rubber midsoles, zoom whether traditional or "unlocked"/refined, carbon fiber or simply any hard plastic that will prevent the shoe from flexing at the midfoot, and synthetic lightweight uppers. At this point I don't see a whole lot you can do to the shoes that ISN'T a gimmick. doubtful this will be a lasting tech that will stand the test of time, like I said I doubt that's what Nike's REALLY even trying to do... they know you can't reinvent the wheel. We'll see though, go ahead nike wow me

Can't expect a company like Nike to just rest on its laurels and become stagnant. It's always got to try new things and find new products to make money on. While this shoe may end up being a gimmick, the R&D experience on this shoe may lead to something substantial in the future.

I'm salty because Tinker's design skills have run their course yet he remains the lead designer. It's like he forgot what dope was. These shoes look like some Merrils or some ****. Straight Dad wear. Which is ridiculous considering they're such a futuristic shoe technology wise. Then to top it all off he puts a third swoosh on the tongue? Another one...another one........another one.

It doesn't say Nike anywhere on the shoe yet he decides to go with another swoosh?! That's what he think's looks good? Then you have some middle aged mom in a loose floral pattern blouse as his right hand man putting a + and - on the buttons as if we're too stupid to remember which does what after the 1st time. Maybe the older laced Nikes should start coming with instructions on how to tie them printed on the inside of the shoe as well. I mean, we're ******ed after all apparently. No wonder this shoe looks like it does. You literally have a archetypical Mom and Dad designing them. Tinker's last decent shoe was the Jordan 11 and before that it was he Jordan 7. He ran out of gas after the 7 and then got his **** together one more time to squeeze out the 11 for one last flicker of glory before he progressed into supernova territory where once was a bright star is now just an annoying and outstretched puff of smoke. Retire bro.

So if a company tries a new design or technology and designs they don't like it then it's a gimmick?

And if they ever do away with unlocked zoom that'll be a gimmick too? Interesting

it's a first run of game changing technology, you think the first design is gonna be flames? lmao everything takes time, dont expect a "non dad" looking shoe until they get that lace motor and battery at the bottom to a smaller size.

I don't see why the upper has to look like a generic sale rack hiking shoe because of the motor and battery. It's just bad design, plain and simple.

If these are just prototypes or samples of something being released in a few months then great. Here's what they need to do before then;

1. Get rid of that atrocious plus/minus on the side of the shoe. Do more work matching up the heel plate to the awkward pointed/peaked midsole. The lines don't match up and it clashes in a bad way. But thats just the tip of it as far as lines go on this shoe.

2. Replace this swoosh with NIKE. Get rid of that weird pattern simulating loose laces. I get it but its wack. Just, no.

3. This right here is just pathetic. Is that the best they can do with that motor box? What happened to fit and finish? Are they really going to just leave it like that? Instead of the one strip in the center connecting the heel and forefoot, why not have two on the sides covering the edges of the box??? Wouldn't that be more aesthetically pleasing?  The way it sits now reminds me of someone zip tying a bumper to their car.

4.And if they must glow that obnoxious light, how about covering the sides and leaving the light visible underneath making it more subtle/tasteful? Connect the front of the midsole to the heel and call it a day.

Or rename it the Nike HyperMeh 1.0.

Your complaints aren't really that big of a deal besides maybe the light glowing at the bottom other than that everything else is just nitpicking imo

They can do way better. These are very underwhelming for what they are and what they represent for the company. These shoes shouldn't look boring considering what they're bringing to the table but they do. Its not a big deal its just lame af.

the adjustments will be intergrated to wearable tech so it could be adjusted with voice or a watch or something.  kinda like valet function on the Tesla.  the shoes will come to you.  also see footwarmers in the future haha dope. all the girls will dig it.  no need to kill kangaroos for the fur or whatever animial uggs use.
