Nike HyperAdapt 1.0: With Adaptive Lacing - Page 6

post #151 of 2049

black pair is great. shoes are simple and elegant , they look like kobe 6s with 2016 technology . they will be copped at retail which will propably be over 300$

btw this auto lacing technology is garbage tbh most people tie the shoes in a way that they can put em on and out without lacing em at all , but the concept is pretty cool no doubt

Most people? Did you take a survey of all the athletes too?

I'm in for the grey, but really can't wait for 2.0 to arrive.

Here's what I would like to know, for north of $300, what performance advancements besides the power lacing am I getting, I might still buy anyway, but would like to know how revolutionary performance wise these are going to be.

post #156 of 2049

lol let the gimmick begin. Nike is going to make a fortune on this initially and abandon it within 2-3 years imo. I don't see a reason this would ever catch on. seems like a total cashgrab, release it on a few random shoes then on the mags, then be done with it. If it really does stick and become a somewhat normal tech on their shoes I'll be shocked.

FOR SALE: DS Bred 11, DS Concord 11, DS Royal 1 x2, DS Bred 1 x2, DS Black Toe 1, VNDS Cool Grey 11, VNDS CDP Bred 11, and more. All size 10.5-11 all purchased from FNL/Eastbay. PM for more info

none lmao. it's a gimmick. nike's just seeing who will pay to save 10 seconds worth of putting your shoes on, and who knows it will likely just be a headache. Pretty sure a shoe can't judge what's comfortable and what's not. seems like you'd be readjusting them a few times until it does it right, but after that what have you really gained from this? This is all speculation, I mean I have no idea how it works but it seems very likely it will be more of a hassle than it's worth.

I agree for the most part, unless they found a cheaper way to mass produce this shoe's technology, I don't see it being available after a while. Or, this will be niche shoe and will not be mass produced.

we are all thinking the same man but what we see in the pics and clips is all that we will get...solely the EARL technology...shouldnt that be enough...nike thinks so..

They'll probably feel the same as mosr running shoes. Phylon+mesh thats it.
Kinda odd a lot of people taking the bait and getting hyped for something that wont change anything.

idk about a gimmick just to make some money...its not like their pockets are tight..alot of technology is still around from 30 years ago..all the air maxes always retro..new air maxes are made yearly.. i thought the same thing about nike shocks, that it as a gimmick...hell even nike shocks are still around..i see people wearing brand new pairs..the last thing that nike has abandoned was the fuel band and that wasnt even clothing or footwear it was just dumb esp with the smart watch scene warming up. this is Nike we are talking about..the big boys on the st. they have been working on this tech for years so i think they have a future for it..the lady seems very excited for whats to come...then again if there is any company that could just make anything just to make money..fluke or not..nike has the money/ power to do it. but just imagine a pair of air maxes with the auto-laces..ughhh would be cool...laces are a big part of a shoe so some may have a problem with out them as they are style purposes

Personally, I'm all aboard. Never liked lacing shoes or sneakers. This is the next logical step after loafers, slip on sneakers, dart socks, and the like.

Plus, we live in an age where people are getting lazier by the year. Like those "hover boards" people have been enamored with.

Not really, depends on the shoes and the lace type. Sloppy lacing (big loops, extra lace, knot size) can throw off a look.

No way serious athletes gonna be wearing power laces next year. Athletes aren't complaining about how they can't get their shoes fitting right. They'd rather not deal with the bulk of electronics or a potential malfunction.
post #171 of 2049

Expensive materials? : Check

Lights up? : Check

Auto lacing system? : Check

Extremely high price? : Check

This is a middle schoolers dream shoe.

I'm sure nobody believes that the 750s are the best basketball shoe out there.

Right. I don't expect laces to disappear from sneakers, just like how buttons didn't kill the draw string or zippers kill buttons. But I don't think it's a gimmick, I think it's the start of another fastening system that will transfer to other applications. We just have to wait and see.

I agree, should be interesting what they come up with. I'm down for a pair of these though for sure.

What does the MT2 on the shoe stand for?

post #180 of 2049
M=Mark
T=Tinker
2=Tiffany Beers

I think she was tasked with the auto lacing. She also did it for the Mags.
