Disney Sets ‘Pete’s Dragon’ Helmer David Lowery For New Live-Action Peter Pan Film

EXCLUSIVE: Disney will make its own live-action Peter Pan film, and has set David Lowery to direct a script that he will write with Toby Halbrooks. They teamed to write and Lowery directed Pete’s Dragon, a new version of Disney’s 1977 live action/animated musical. It will be the second effort in the family film space for Lowery, who was best known for writing and directing the edgy indie Ain’t Them Bodies Saints. Jim Whitaker will be the producer on this one.

movie is really good

obviously there's some changes to the original cartoon but it was very good nonetheless

Bout to see this in IMAX. Ticket prices :smh: but felt like this is a theater type movie.

movie was good, loved the voices they picked for each character

and was I the only one that caught mogli ringing the cowbell and then christopher walken shows up

So am I correct in assuming this Jungle Book iteration isn't best for a 4-year old?

Really wanna see this but I'm not even trying to give my kid nightmares for weeks to come.

In my opinion, no.

I took my daughter and her bff this morning, both 10.

My daughter covered her eyes at some part then realized it wasn't that scary

So imagine for a smaller child.

I've never seen the original Jungle Book from start to finish. Saw this new one tonight and it was actually pretty good. The CGI at some points was pretty incredible.

Very good movie. Wished I watched it without 3D though, made some scenes blurry in the foreground. Acting and story was great and it was better than the OG storywise.

Disney literally makes movie magic :wow:

Whoever decided they should start making live-action versions of their animated hits is a genius. Those straight to video sequels they were putting out were not the goods.

Toy story 2 was sooooo close to being straight to video and last min they released it to theaters :pimp:

Btw, saw Jungle Book...awesome, had to wash down da basura that was Barbershop, next cut [emoji]128078[/emoji][emoji]128078[/emoji][emoji]128078[/emoji]

This movie if fine for a four year old. Its no darker than a movie like say, The Lion King.
Except one is a cartoon & another is "live-action."

I'm all for exposing children to the harsh realities of life early btw.

My 9yr old son was a lil shook at some parts

.
haha the tiger and the big monkey would be pretty scary for a child.

i found it interesting how they chose which animals to speak and which ones to just make animal sounds.

Kaa (snake) is where my daughter started to cover her eyes.

Then when she was attacked, she felt so relieved.

Yoo this movie was amazing!!

Spoilers so don't scroll down...

Bruh Shere Khan idris elbow killed it. Perfect voice and dude was brutal... Going straight to the pack and killing the top dog :wow:
Kaa (Scarlett) in the little screen she had was dope! Good frightening scene.. The softness in her voice.
Ben as well nice leadership, calm voice.
I thought Baloo (Bill) stole the show, him saving Mowgli and the Jokes he had and the affection he had towards the boy. Song didn't feel forced at all. Came natural the way they 'grew' together.
Louie was dope, the CGI had me like :wow: :wow:
Song was a little forced, but I liked it.

I think everyone killed it voice acting and CGI was dope. I loved the film and can be a movie for all ages. A little scary parts, but they go quick.... 10/10
