JB is odeeing this year. Between all the retros that have been announced this year, plus the unannounced pairs that will be revealed at Dino's convention tomorrow (Both for this year and 2017), Jordan Brand is going crazy. I know i'm not the only one that's overwhelmed

I only really buy OG and early-mid 2000 retro + colorways anyway, so that helps. But still, it's a lot.

The opposite for me. WC4, BMV, SJs, and maybe TB3 for me. The master XIIs are nice, but already have too many black base jordans I haven't touched in years. They can keep launching everything they'd like, it's just at a point for me where I'm buying the same sneaker three times over and the OGs and anything else I liked I've double or tripled up on already.

I feel you. You're probably older and started collecting before me. I'm about to be 23, been wearing Js since I was a baby, but didn't really start collecting until like 7th grade. My foot didn't stop growing until 11th grade, so anything I had before was long gone. JB is releasing every shoe I've ever wanted these past few years, so it's crazy to me lol. But at this rate, i'll be able to retire in like 3 years

Idk i kinda miss the 2000-2007 era when Jordan releases were rare and we had less of these weird colorways

This year JB has
Metallic 1
Bred/banned 1
True blue 3
Cement 4
Metallic 5
Possible champagne and cigar 8s
Possible ovo 8s
Chicago 9s
Space Jam 11
White/red 11
Flu game 12s
French Blue 12s
Master 12s
Ovo 12s
Indiglo 14s
Oxidized 14s
Copper 17s,
With more to come with time. These are just the most popular ones too

Compare the amount of Jordan 3-6 for example released from 1999-2005 to 2006-2012

3's 1999-2005 5 pairs 2006-2012 17 pairs
4's 1999-2005 9 pairs 2006-2012 19 pairs
5's 1999-2005 4 pairs 2006-2012 23 pairs
6's 1999-2005 6 pairs 2006-2012 14 pairs

Now it seems like they don't stick with a model unless "it's the year of" and just release random models throughout the year.

Before they would release 4-5 colorways in a row of a certain model and move on to the next.

Like in 2006 they finished of the 14s in the beginning of the year to continue the 14s from late 2005.

Then started releasing 7s from January until June, then in late June they started with the 4s, then they started with the 5s in August which went all the way into January 2007 with the Metallic 5s and the Laser 5s.

The DMPs in 2006 were a random release that didn't follow with more 11s and 6s colorways right after

check my edited post

Now I get what you were saying 8)

I usually stick with OG colorways though

At the end of the dayJB is a business it doesn't surprise me they flood the market with popular models. Surprisingly the mid 11s gets one release per year and it's one of the most popular models of the line

Yeah i dont understand it.
The 11 mids are intentionally kept rare in release to build up the hype and justify the high retail price.
They should release 3 different colorways per year and retail for the same like other models.

Yep, I mean that's what made Jordan a Billionare :smokin

I'm definitely more selective buying shoes nowadays... JB has snapped dew to over-hyped models and colorways.. I think this should've been the year of the PEs..

I'm just guessing, but the current Jordan retro craze has been going strong since 2009 or so (i'd say it began with the space jams). 2017 would put it at 8 years. Perhaps they're cashing out thinking the trend will in all likelihood taper down in a few years?

For me....I'm just being more selective instead of just copping every release; Plus this is not even including Nike retros and other ish.

I hear you but most of these releases aren't on my radar at all. The Just Dons are my only buy so far this year and I'm only going for the French Blues, Metallic 5s, TB3s, and Black/Red 1s the rest of the year. I'm probably even sitting the Space Jam release out.

No one should be surprised though. Nike has stated that it wants to double JB sales by 2020. Only way to do that is to release and move more product. Don't be surprised if they release 1.5 million Space Jams in December. And we may have seen the end of limited releases other than stuff like collabs.

I feel like this kills a lot of JB's hype doesn't it?

Nike/JB wants every employee to have a million by 2020....

Increasing sales for college funds... Just reaching here guys..
