UN-CANCELLED...Oh My, Air Unlimited Retro Is On the Way...

Aaaand just like that, Nike sent out an email to shops over the weekend saying that the Unlimiteds have been cancelled in all colorways. I'll update the thread title when I can get to a desktop. I'm pretty bummed.

Peace,
J

:smh: :smh: :smh: @ NSW

Don't know how hard it is for Nike to release original models in original colorways. But attempting to give us half a** retros like the Air Up equipped with that vac-tech garbage, and countless retros of the Flight Lite High and Flight 89's in hundreds of awful colors is what puzzles me. That catalog runs deep enough to retro each popular model at least once in standard og colors. This pathetic way of thinking that every color that comes out has to cater to denim spandex wearing teenager is absurd. Every retro doesn't have to have an$175-200 price tag. I don't know what level Nike is trying to attain, since they're already at the top of the food chain, but to target every audience but the 90's basketball crowd is beyond me. A huge amount of sneakers should have come out before another iteration of the Flight Lite highs. Sad news :smh::smh:

Whoever is running NSW (Gentry still?) can eat a ****!!! This is the WORST decision!! This is a shoe that's never been retro'ed yet and would have a decent amount of people buying on the 1st day, because Nike is lazy with retroing other models from the 90s! What are they gonna replace it with?! More vac-tech garbage and re-retros of a shoe from 2 years ago in horrid colors that look like crap & don't sell?! This is BS! I'm so disappointed & PO'ed right now! I may actually email someone at HQ just to vent!

What?!? NOOOOOOO!!! Aw man! I was hoping to get a few color ways of these.... DAMMIT NIKE!!!!

**** decision by NSW. I was really looking forward to these. One of the top 90's basketball models that I'd really love to get my hands on. Nostalgia took a hard hit today.

Nike really has to take a long look at its thinking on retros. They have been re-releasing the same shoes to a point over & over. I know they did release some new ones recently, but for the most part, they don't delve into the vault of highly sought after sneakers that they haven't given a though of. I can roll off dozens of shoes off the top of my head right now, that they could release that would sell rather well. When we see the same stuff over & over, it's not exciting. What's exciting? These shoes were exciting!

Now, Why would these sell well? Because the shoes from the early 90's, were worn by kids and yound adults, who are now older and have some disposable income to buy the shoes they had when they were younger. You see it with Jordan retros ALL THE TIME. The Air Unlimiteds? I would have bought at retail 1st day of release of the Emerald color. So would have ALOT of older heads. Same people who bought up the Air Command Force retros when the "Billy Hoyle's" released.

Nike should really thing hard about trying new things in regards to the models they want to retro. Shoes like the Flight 90, Solo Flight, Force V, Ballistic Force, Force Mid & High 93, Vis-Zoom Uptempo. I can go on and on. These shoes there would get people excited to purchase. The sneakers they release in the dreck colors, not so much.

Let's use the Flight Lite High. They brought then back, sweet. In HORRID colors! The White Men Can't Jump colorway? Are you kidding?!! Garbage. They only released one OG color and it wasn't the ones Wesley Snipes wore to go with the ACF they they did release.

Nike, I know you have people you pay to watch blogs all day, so I want to say, get creative with the shoes ylj choose to bring back. Not the same rehashed stuff. Would this shoe been a Hugh seller? No. Would you have sold a decent amount of the OG colorway at release? I think so. Do something different for a change. We sneakerheads deserve some different models to choose from. Shoes we haven't seen in years!!! You do that and you may even bring back some of those who said they were done with shoes, just to get that pair they had as a kid/teenager. OK, my rant is over.

Short version: THIS SUCKS NIKE!!!

I'm mad these won't be coming back; but if Nike was going to put out a half assed version of these I'd rather them stay gone. Hopefully they cancelled the release because the pairs they were producing were trash and not up to par with the OGs.

Wow, I wasn't expecting to hear this news...I was looking forward to copping a pair too. SMH @ Nike

I was really looking forward to this shoe.. My friend had this back in 94...i think these were the 1st and only shoes that came with instructions on which order to use the straps

This is unacceptable @nike I'm not a Jordan Android.. I do like other basketball players that wore your brand

Was gonna hold out for Slates anyway.

Still, we'll prob get Air Max 2 CBs instead.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. Instead if a different shoe we haven't seen since its original release, we'll get rehashed retros of shoes from a year or two ago in more terrible colorways! Unacceptable is right!!!!
