UN-CANCELLED...Oh My, Air Unlimited Retro Is On the Way...

So I have the greatest wife ever.  Sitting here watching the cavs/bucks game and she tells me she just ordered off city blue ( I was telling her about this a little while ago) with a 45 dollar discount?.  Total of 105 bucks.  Completely amped right now.

Hey buddy, thanks SO MUCH for the heads up on the discount code. I just ordered my pair!!! Repped!!!!

OK! Awesome news here!! Thanks to our fellow forum member @JRep23 and his info from his post, these are on sale already on City Blue's website!

If you email them for an invoice, when you get it, the price automatically adjusts for 30% off!!! These come out to $105 shipped!!! They are having a site-wide sale on everything sans a few pairs of Jordans and Nikes. This is an early Christmas present to me for this price!!!

I had the OG Slates back in 11th grade ('94), and in '99 or 2000 (can't remember), I tracked down a very near DS pair on eBay. Was my 1st eBay and Esnipe purchase. Just recently, they dried out and the midsoles started to crumble. Can't even touch them without some midsole flaking off [emoji]128546[/emoji][emoji]128546[/emoji] So these are extremely special to me!!!

If your on the fence, jump at this deal!!! Enjoy the savings everyone!!! Happy Holidays!!! Thanks again JRep23[emoji]128077[/emoji][emoji]128077[/emoji][emoji]128077[/emoji]

Was in the 8th grade when I had these originally.  Only one in school that had them.  My late father loved them because they were a blue suede shoe.   Side note.   He was an Elvis Presley fanatic.  He hated the price for Jordans but dug these.  If that gives an idea what these mean to me.   so excited to get these in hand soon.

Im  very happy got your pair.  Just want to give credit to my wife for really doin it all.  For several years she had to listen to me talk about these shoes.  Maybe she wanted to finally shut me up idk.  I know this release is not JAM hype but if you were into shoes in the 90s, well.....you get it.

That's awesome buddy. I'm guessing, your around 37? The older heads on here like us and others just "get these". To the younger set, they aren't interested. They see all the straps and pass on them. Fine by me.

Being born in the mid 70's, and growing up in the 80's and being a teen in the early/mid 90's, these are a must! Just like the Carnivores back a few years ago. Same with Air Raids. Love shoes that are so different than the norm. When the young ones pass on these for Yeezys or something trending, it means these will do on discount for cheap down the road as they will be around. I'll get a second pair.

I too was the only one to have them in school and others always commented on them. Plus Webber was BIG back in HS (I was in school for the Fab Five craze). Then when he got drafted and traded for Penny? Then the Nike commercials with Spree. So these were the definition of 90's basketball shoes to me! I'm so stoked to see them soon!!!! Same here bro. Born in the 80's and raised in the 90's. I was on the 7th grade when this released. Back then I was drooling with the Barkley's and the Unlimited's Don't have the funds at that time so I promised that I won't let this pass by again. Damn I paid $150 at cityblue. Would definitely wait for this to hit discount. Good thing the shoe isn't appealing to new sneakerheads. hahaha.... :D

Um What?

No.

Why would I sole swap when A - the colors dont match. B - There is ZERO worth in doing that. C- I posted my OGs when this thread opened as this shoe is one of my favorites ever. I've had my Duke pair since High School.

D-Check yourself
Check nothing buddy. I was being complimentary.

You can swap just a midsole and keep all the colors and make your pair wearable .

Just an option.  .no need to dig in your purse to throw lipstick

I'm really curious about this as well. All I remember about them is that weird bubble under the heel, which I'm assuming is gone haha. Props to whoever threw out that City Blue link. Can't beat $105 shipped before they've actually been "released."

Peace,
J

That bubble underneath is still there. Only thing i don't like is it's a little awkward to put on, and take off. Once it's on, it's like wearing a pair of pillows.

Does it still come with instructions on how to strap them?

I believe I still have the instruction manual somewhere with my older Nike catalogues they sent me decades ago. Now I gotta search since I have my Slates coming. I can't wait!!!

Straight fire!!! Just need to change the laces to black and I'm all set! :smokin :smokin :smokin

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!! [emoji]128079[/emoji][emoji]128079[/emoji][emoji]128079[/emoji]

Your right on the laces. Black laces are definitely needed. And unlike the OG's, hopefully shorter laces as the OG's laces were rediculously long!!! I always tucked them in under the straps. I can't wait for my pair to arrive. [emoji]128077[/emoji][emoji]128077[/emoji]
