Yes. Had issue with banneds. ******* JB knows no limits fam

Took a better pic of this camel looking toebox after one wear. No shoe tree this time. How is this leather better than metallics/yangs/Breds/etc ?
Hmm.. anyone else here wear theirs and they came out like this? If this is a common problem with these I wonder if a little leather conditioner will help before the first wear.

My other pairs never creased like this though. It's not normal..at least not to me

I have most of the remaster and some crease similar, some don't personally I don't care for/want smooth toes on 1s that are worn, IMO any wear on 1s (that aren't factory defects) gives this particular shoe character, realize some people today don't like creases and I'm not judging but for me 1s get better the more beat down they get and discolored... this shoe ages better than any Air Jordan and once these are "old" for you again IMO that hump will be the last thing you notice

Just noticed I have tumbled leather on my right toe and smooth leather on my left toe. Doesn't matter. Won't be able to tell the difference once I have my way with them.

Since I have different leather on my toes I did some research for the group (also known as bending the toe boxes in half). After several bends the tumbled toe box remains unscathed but the smooth toe box looks like the others pictured here. However, once I stuck my hand inside and smoothed it out it returned to normal. If you have the smooth, stiffer leather on your toes and you don't want the creases I recommend buying some quality shoe trees (not from IKEA) and putting them in after each wear. Should take care of your problem. From what I can tell the smooth leather is stiff enough to crease but not stiff enough to hold the crease.

Wow. Was your toebox looking like this after one day or normal wear?View media item 2298195

I always use two applications of a good quality "leather conditioner" on the toebox area before I ever wear them for the first time.

I think it helps soften up a leather a bit making them more pliable. This is just my theory.
Perhaps I'll do an experiment and condition the left toebox only.
After one or two wears I see if it makes any difference with the creasing.

Of course, over time the creases give the shoe some character.

appreciate the research. it's true you can smooth the lumps out yourself, but once I put them back on feet they got lumps again immediately. I had cedar shoe trees in them overnight too

I don't mind wrinkles, a little dirt, yellowing...but when the shoe itself is misshapen, that bothers me. what I love most about 1's is the silhouette, and when the toebox is lumpy it messes with that silhouette

I just wasn't expecting it on this pair since my other 2016 pairs are wrinkled but not lumpy. makes me think the quality isn't as good on these, but I'm not enough of an expert to know that for sure

The leather on the left toe of my Storm Blues is definitely the stiffest leather on any of my remastered 1s. And that's a bit of a shame cuz the leather in the right toe is the softest except for my Black/Reds (I don't have either SBB).

yeah that is disappointing. JB was on a roll, I was impressed with all my 2016 pairs before these. maybe I just got lucky with my other pairs but storm blues are a step back in quality in my opinion.

at least for the toebox. everything else seems good

i don't know. the toe box on my pair are identical to my black toe's (plush). the only difference is the collar.

weird. I have a DS pair of the new black toes and the toebox on them doesn't seem too soft either like my yangs and metallics

Where did you buy your pair from? The reason i ask.Is because ive seen pairs like yours with average quality. Then ive seen pairs with BT/Chi top quality.I think this is a release where some pairs came out better than others.Thats why i want to know where you copped from.

A seller called nomadsports on eBay

the random materials on the different shoes is common on 1's

thats what happens when you make the left shoe in a different factory than the right shoe.
