NIKE TRAINERS THREAD

I can't disagree with you there. Nike's regular line is def better for training gear. Just excited about the combo of Jordan + Harbaugh for our recruiting

I do feel when it comes to training, JBs division is a step behind in tech. Like a neoprene ankle cover while others are using flyknit? Midsole/cushioning doesn't seem too special with the new lunar or bigger zoom bags or anything.

i guess they've got to start somewhere right?

Apparently the UltraFast FlyKnits are releasing today? Though SneakerNews claims that it does come out today, they do not however provide a price?

What happened to these? The supposed release date has passed.

Just got pushed back, it is one of the weirdest shoe releases yet, there was a release date then it has come and gone and nothing, there was no price then there was one but then another is reported and til now I am still unsure how much it is.

As a consolation, they showed the Olympics colorway  If anything I guess that tells us that it might release towards the Olympics?

Ordered a pair of the Ultrafast trainers. I'll let you guys kno2 what the fit and feel is like when they come in.

Good to see the Ultrafasts starting to release. $150 isn't bad either.

Are you a sprinter? I definitely want to know how that plate feels, in terms of energy return and transition.

I am not a sprinter.Got them in a couple of days ago. 1st impressions:

1. They look really good in person.
2. The see through mesh paneling on the side with the chain-link flywire over the top is more stable than it appears in pictures.
3. The sizing was a little too narrow for me. I have been using the Nike Free Trainer 5.0 v4 & v5 and wear an 11.5 in both & they fit perfectly. These, not so much. Length wise they were fine, width is just too snug as its pinching a little bit right above where my toes start.
4. The propulsion plate seems a little springy but nothing too crazy. I'd take zoom air over it. I couldn't do too much in them as they just weren't wide enough for me.
5. The breathability was top notch. The mesh paneling runs along the side panels but what doesn't come across in pics online, is that it also runs along the tongue. This was the highlight of the shoe to me.

Overall, I think that if you don't have a somewhat wide foot, (my foot is a little wide) these should work pretty well for you as long as you like the silhouette/CW.

Good to know the lockdown is solid. I may have to at least check these out. My foot is pretty average, and maybe a tad narrow. Interesting you say Zoom Air is better. I guess the main concern I'd have with the UltraFast is tearing my feet up with the hard pounding, even on a track.

I wish I would have been able to do a full workout with some agility drills but it was just not wide enough and it would have been painful otherwise maybe I would have really liked the propulsion plate. I wouldn't get these though if your gonna do a lot of running as I don't think personally, the cushioning is sufficient. Then again, people run in Nike Free 3.0's so anything is possible lol.

^ Is it just a plain old thin insole? If so, try taking that out when you wear them. It may give your foot a few extra centimeters which could make a noticeable difference on the wideness.

Yeah it's a really cheap insole, you have to kind of push it down to keep it down. I did try them on without the insole but they didn't feel right.

I was hoping for the mango colorway to make it stateside but I'll wait for the multi colors .
