NIKE TRAINERS THREAD

^, this so much. I missed out on the NFL Lunar TR1's that released in 2012. I really want a proper NFL trainer release. These Speed Trainers are basic but still getting the FSU pair of course.

Thanks @rapcoz2134  for the photos, definitely picking up that UF pair, just need to decide whether I wait for them to go on discount first ^^

Hope they make enough like last year (I think they restocked a FSR at least twice) so that they can be had for the low.

Hope they get around to making some NFL pairs too, I picked up the Dolphins SC Trainer II a few years back and they're great but too heavy to be worn daily in the heat :frown: So it would definitely be great if they could make a low cut trainer like they did with the Week Zero Lunar TR1 & Free 5.0

Bought the UGAs.

Had a 10% coupon expiring this week + eBates at 12% + $50 giftcard.

Wish they did more with the heel graphic. And the matching hat.

Anyone know of anywhere that has the Week 0 pack under retail?

I see Lids has them, but can't find a discount code...Fanatics doesn't seem to have them yet, the DSG banner redirects to a page with no results.

You should have time to try to get them at a discount.  I am surprised these are not selling out at all like past Week Zero releases.  Is it because people don't like the Train Speed silhouette, or because Nike is down right now due to Adidas' resurgence?

I would have to go with the former, the silhouette looks like a great performance/training shoe but some people may find it less appealing to wear casually.

The Free 5.0 from last year is a lot easier to pull off with a pair of jeans/pants, at least IMO, having not seen the Train Speed 4 in hand yet.

Also, just wondering, could anyone tell me when Nike first started releasing the Week Zero collection? Was it in 2014 with the Lunar TR1's or before that?

Colleges were getting shoes released, just not 14 at a time for week zero. The big week zero started 2014, but before that it was on a way smaller scale.

Thanks ! That's what I figured, I'd seen a lot of the Oregon shoes release for example but didn't think there had been an organised drop for numerous schools before Week Zero began.

I'm not sure I ever saw any UF pairs release before 2015 though...

I'd imagine the vast majority of people buying these are alums/current students for casual purposes anyway. Ugly = less sales.

It was actually on October 12th, 2012 when they first started the release of schools with the original Lunar TR1's. The schools released then were Oregon, FSU, OSU. LSU, and USC called the Rivalry Pack. These are pretty rare nowadays, save for the Oregon ones because they released three colorways, green, white, and black.

The second generation Lunar TR1 released on August 27th, 2014 and included Texas, Michigan State, Oregon, FSU, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and Oklahoma.

The third official Week Zero collection was released on August 12th, 2015 and the shoe was the Free Trainer 5.0 V6 which included FSU, Oregon, Ohio State, Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma, USC, Michigan State, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Texas, and Penn State. They released UNC, Duke, and Kentucky at the beginning of basketball season that year as well. Nike then released this shoe again this year in alternate CW's on July 27th for Ohio State, FSU, Georgia, Alabama, Michigan State, Tennessee, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Texas.

The 4th of course is the most recent Trainer Speed 4 released yesterday. Nike released other schools in 2010 with the Boom Packs, such as Florida, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Miami, TCU, Oregon State, Alabama, Boise State, and Pittsburgh with the Zoom Huarache Trainer and other goodies but those were super rare as they released only at 21 Mercer.

^You didn't mention the Trainer 1.3 Max "Rivalry Pack" that released.

2011 - Georgia, Boise State, Oregon.

Very rare and expensive now.

^, lol, yeah sorry, I knew there was a couple more college releases that I missed, I tried to get the majority of what I could remember/look up.

Thanks a lot for the info, it really is helpful and the list seems very complete  Must have taken a while to type too lol

Do you know whether the Oregon alternate colorway of the Free 5.0 ever released on Nike.com? I can only remember seeing them on Fanatics so missed my size as they went fast :frown:

Haha just a bit but it was fun. Naw man, NDC never did release the alternate Free Trainers, just on Fanatics and collegefootball.com

That's what I thought unfortunately... Do you reckon that they will ever make it to their website, or any other retailers, or will they just scrap the release because they have this years model up now?

I would suspect you will see some in outlets but I highly doubt that they would release em online or on NDC now since the new ones are up now, as you said.

Ordered on the 15th. Shipped email came in overnight. Says delivery tomorrow but tracking still shows in Memphis.

I wish Nike wouldn't give unrealstic delivery dates every single time I place an order. Items always show up 2-3 days after estimated date.

^, lol this. I ordered them, hasn't even given me the tracking number, and it says delivery date 8/19. I just ordered the Michael Johnson Pegasus and it said the same date! Haha.

I ordered mine over the weekend, and they said the 18th. They were in Nashville, then Memphis Mon-Tues, now just outside of Los Angeles (I live on the other side of LA), so they must use air delivery. I bet you'll get them pretty quick.
