NIKE TRAINERS THREAD

I think someone here got a pair but I just remember it's release being delayed numerous times and no one even knew what the retail was going to be

Here's my Trainer 4's. I cannot wait for the NFL ones to drop so I can pick up a Niner pair. I saw all the colorways listed on Eastbay's release calendar so yep definitely coming.

Those Ronaldo CR7's are fire but hate that they raised the price $50 damn dollars from the normal ones just because of some badging.

Visually speaking, Nike training lags behind their running models terribly. I don't remember the last training shoe I wanted to buy. The lunar models weren't bad.

That Flyon shoe looks bulky AF. Why oh why do they have to slap a Flyknit collar on everything now? I'm sure they are great performers but damn, visually, that is just an eyesore.

Wearing the UGAs today for the first time.

First impressions:
-lace swapped to black was needed
-overall I like the fit and feel of these over the Frees from last year
-the 3m/reflective is noticeable more than expected

Is Flylon a new rubber compound or has it been present in another Nike shoe?

It's the first time I am hearing of it but it sounds like it might be a lighter version of Lunarlon?

Don't they only have the collar on the Train Force? One pair of training shoes? It's not like all their training shoe offerings has it.

If you just like the look for the Train Force but don't want the collar then get the Free RN Motion.

It's only natural that a model or two in each sports/category gets that collar because it sells well but there are also about 8-10+ other alternatives within Nike if you don't want that collar on your shoe.

I really do not see the big deal.

^, I was just stating throughout all of their lines now, not just specifically training. And no big deal, I was just stating my opinion.

You are talking about the Speed Trainer 4's right? I haven't even noticed if my FSU pair is 3M but the forefoot is very very narrow that is for sure.

Yep...Speed Trainer 4s.

You must have really wide feet? I have semi wide feet and these feel good to me.

Did you grab the FSU Lunar TR1 back in 2014? If so how does the width of the Speed Train 4 compare to those because I felt that the forefoot was also very narrow on my pairs...

Nuclear90, not too wide actually. Might just have some differences in kicks or feet ha.

The original Lunar TR1's definitely had a much roomier toebox than these Speed 4's to me. I actually have seven pairs of those and the fit was consistent throughout the forefoot.

My trainer 1.0 feel great casually and for deadlifts/squats. Much better than the free 5.0/4.0. No need for metcons

Anybody else actually worn the train speed 4?

The reviews are starting to come in on Nike and they are not good. They are pretty much all complaints about the tight toe box. It seems kind of sad that this model is getting such a big platform (NCAA week zero, NFL) only to have this kind of feedback.

I'm pretty sure I won't be able to wear them. The 2014 Lunar's had my feet numb 10 minutes into a workout (too narrow). The Free 5.0s (2013 and 2015) were perfect. I wish they would have released NFL in last year's model.

The 2014 lunar TR1 had that problem, but they eventually broke in. Since these are all fuse, I'm not sure if they'll break in like that.

MShuttlesworth,

I've worn and trained in them. I wouldn't say that the shoe is all that narrow, it's just that the caging around the toe box is rather rigid. If you go fast, you need that kind of lockdown, but if you just want something to rep your alma mater, yeah, you could do better. I'm in the midst of writing a review for my site, but overall I would describe them as a budget-level Metcon.

Nike just tweeted out the new CR7 Train Speed 4's, I'm not a fan of the CW to be honest.

I don't understand why they keep releasing all these Cristiano Ronaldo trainers, I can understand that he's a big thing in Europe with all the soccer fans but is he really on the same level in the US?

Anyone notice some of the Week Zero stuff falling off NDC? I went to look at the UGA hat again and it's not there anymore. Anyone know another spot to get it? I don't remember exactly how it looked tbh.

I wish Nike actually carried all of their own products. I see their stuff via other retailers all the time that they've never carried themselves.

I dont get why his flyknit ultrafast trainer has a $50 markup from the other GR colorways?

Neither do I, especially seeing as the colorway is nothing great, basically you're paying an extra $50 for those 3 letters on the tongue...

Oregon had two hats, one of them is now gone.  I expected it to sell well though, so not entirely surprised. I haven't seen any of the hats hit other retailers yet, which is what i was waiting for. Last year lids, fanatics, eastbay, local college stores all had them. I was assuming they would eventually get there, but I'm not so sure anymore. It's almost week 1 so now is the time if they really want to sell them.
