I dont see the problem. This guys a real rapper no? And this song is CLEARLY about drugs, the whole thing is a double entendre about drugs. I dont even really wanna consider that song a troll song, its a cooking crack song that got mildly cleaned up for exposure purposes.

Exactly .

People just want to find a way to criticize "new rap". Acting like their isn't a Tribe Called Quest like song that they "parodied"....that sounds good.

It's all cool until desiigner start biting hamburger helper

Feelings, feelings drippin everywhere

I get it tho, dudes love talkin about how "creative" these new artist are and yet Hamburger helper grabbed a few local Minny artist and put out a tape ABOUT HAMBURGER HELPER that could rival or even surpass some music dropped from most of these new trap sensations .

I would hate to be talkin bout "Rapper A" is the hottest in the streets, and see that a ***** rappen bout linguini washed em

This is on the tape.

One could easily say, "I would hate to be talking about how "Rapper A", is so lyrically advanced and from the golden era, and see that a ***** rapping about linguini washed em"

My G.... you stated

are you telling me that the song posted above could be put on a tribe project and ****** wouldn't fnd that noticeably different from their content ?

Meanwhile the first track on this tape could be inserted on random trap ****** tape and be taken 100% serious as a real song.

So what are yall crying about?

It cant be because they are parodying hip hop because thats been happening by people within the culture. If kevin hart did this would anyone be mad?

And suuuuurely you cant be mad at corporate interest using hip hop to sell profuct because if so u can name about 6000 companies that im sure we all support that do the same.

^^^^havent seen any one being mad.

Most dudes in here are saying it fire...and rightfully so :pimp:.

Ppl dont wanna think bout it further. They just hearing catchy music & not realizing that this makes the genre look dumb & simple

First track wasnt bad but i aint supporting this

And he isnt the first one ive seen with this opinion either

It's a parody rap. Which has been going on since rap's inception.

I do agree with him that it makes the genre look "simple"....but actually flipping metaphors and the production they did isn't simple at all. The dudes that are doing it are actually rappers/producers & comedians.

Hamburger Helper just attached their name to it.

There's no outrage, a few people just happen to point out that these tracks are equal to if not better than tracks that SOME dudes in the trap genre are making.

So when trap seems to be the sound that a lot of rappers are seeing success off of these days, and hamburger helper can put together a mixtape musically on par with a lot of what's "Hot"... then how disposable is the music a lot of dudes are out here creating, just something to think about

Exactly

Toki Wright, who oversaw the whole project, is an actual rapper. These ain't just randos from the Hamburger Helper offices.

The first track was done by DJ Tip and Bobby Raps. These dudes aint just some "local minny" ****** they're apart of the Stand4rd along with Spooky Black and Allan Kingdom and they sold out small venues across the US last year.

According to Toki, he told to everyone to make "serious" "real" songs that were still relatable to HH because for one they didn't know how the HH marketing team was gonna push the songs or how they were gonna be used yet. But also because their names are attached to the project and he didn't want it to come across corny. He wanted funny songs that were still "good"
