Im shedding real tears if they cut him and he's forced to retire right now. Let him get to 700. **** im crying real tears regardless. He's my favorite player of all time
 
If he retires after the season the Yanks def made and under the table deal with him for him to collect the rest of his money.

Would've liked it if the Yankees let him finish the rest of the season in hopes that he'd get to 700, but it is what it is.
 
More downs than ups? No. Carried us to the post season a few years. We also don't win in 09 without him.


Yankees don't want to pay those HR bonuses. He'll hit 700 if he DH's the rest of the year but they don't want that. ****** cheap *******. I'm happy he's getting his entire salary next year. Im ****** tight right now, im on fire.
 
Those dam PED's ruin a career that should have been legendary. He'll always be remembered for that first. Sucks cause dude was beyond amazing ...

Agreed.

A-Rod was an absolute beast in his early MLB years.
 
Yanks really clearing house. Need to lower ticket prices and I won't miss the current rostet. Although A-Rod was never my fav, I appreciate all he has done for us. Also for missing out on his incentives to retire a Yankee, although he may still get it as an advisor. I was going to go Friday but as soon as espn posted an article all reasonable tickets disappeared. Late to the parade.
 
Was listening to the A-Rod presser this morning in the car, damn :smh:. I thought he would finish the season out, not end it in 4 more games. He was likely finessed out of his current contract by Cashman and company, but at the same time, maybe he doesn't believe 700 is all that necessary to accomplish. Because ya gotta figure, if he hits 4 more by Friday, people are going to say it's a hollow/illegitimate feat anyhow.

Amazing career and a generational talent for sure. With that said, having him around for the young guys will be a good look going forward.

Surprised about McCann clearing waivers, I can see him being traded too within this month.
 
Now that I've digested this, I think it's classless of the Yankees to force him out like this. The corpse of Derek Jetter batted 2nd all year long his final season. A minth if at bats wasn't going to make or break whoever gets called up. They should have let ARod finish out the season. What beneft comes from this?
 
Hes still getting the rest of his monies. They just wanted the distraction off of the team. He's been awful this year but they wouldn't have done this **** to jeter i can tell u that
