2016 OFFICIAL YANKEES SEASON THREAD... THANK YOU A-ROD

Judge is not remotely ready to be in the majors.... At this point, wouldn't even put him on the roster in 2017. Strike out basically every other at bat. And can't put the ball in play.

Anyway 4 guys had quality months for the Yankees at the plate in August

Starlin .313/.333/.571 8 HRs 24 RBIS 18 BB
Sanchez .389/.458/.832 11 HRs 21 RBIs 11 BB
Didi .268/.291/.500 6 HRs 18 RBIs
Jacoby .275/.327/.395 2 HRs 15 RBIs 9BB 17R

Yeah, he looks lost out there. Same for Austin but it's as if he hasn't gotten that much playing time.

Huge win. Where do we stand *if* we sweep the O's?

Half game up on the O's if we sweep them.

Can hope KC takes 1 of 3 from Detroit.. Would leave us 1/2 game behind Detroit, IF we sweep O's.
Hope Tex takes 2 of 3 from Houston & we would be 1 game ahead of Houston

Watching Judge struggle this bad... Makes me want Yoenis that much more in the offseason.

Because it will allow us to take our time with Judge.

There's positives and negatives with Judge... If he were to play 160 games in a season, based on the 16 so far.. He's on pace for 30 HR & 90 RBIs...

But 260 Ks, and only 50 walks, and only 100 Hits.

I believe that the 30 & 90 are about right... I think he would do that easily in a 160 game season. If he gets a hold of a pitch, he's going to drive it.

And obviously he wouldn't strike out 260 times, and only get 100 hits. Those will improve over time. But still don't see them as being better than mediocre

I think there is a ceiling for Judge. He's going to strike out a ton, and he's never going to sniff 280 let alone 300, and conversely I doubt he will walk much, so you're also looking at a .330-340 or so OBP

There's just so much space for him to cover that he's likely going to K once a game, and very unlikely to be able to get good contact on pitches he needs to when protecting on 2 strikes.

Not saying he's not capable of being a dangerous guy in a lineup, I just think there's a ceiling because of his height. It reminds me of say Richie Sexson. Struck out a ton, but was dangerous in a lineup as well

I haven't heard of Richie Sexson in so long, used to trade for him back in 2K5 to have him on the Yankees
I was young so forgive me

Jonathan Holder getting called up as part of the 40 man roster. Getting rave reviews and seen as a big part of the pen possibly starting in 2017 and going forward.

Still have fond memories of Dellin getting belted in 2013 and telling everyone he will be a monster. I can die knowing I made that prediction
