The Official Jordan XXXI Thread

When JB professional camera crew can't catch good angles to make these look good then you know the shoe is wack! Even the glory holes had a couple of pics that made me want to check out the shoes in person.

They should put the wings on them if they want to use the banned 1's as a tribute for the 31's. That wings is an iconic logo for the aj1

Seriously it's maddening how much better that PS is over what's actually releasing with just a simple tweak. I can't even look at the real ones anymore man. ****

Ahhhh man, so many thoughts on the XXXIs...

The heel pods and FlightSpeed cushioning setup looks to be out of this world! Great to see the continued progression in that regard with each of the recent flagship Air Jordans. Anti Gravity Machines, indeed :nthat: ...

that inner bootie on the ankle should be great for comfort as well. I like the height it adds to the silhouette and effectively brings out the DNA from the 1 ...

BUT the Jumpman and the swoosh so proximate to each other on the shoe is not working for me :x : to say it represents the transition from the past to present is barely neat in theory and clearly less than in execution ...

on the 2011s we got treated to handcrafted Patina leather; five years later, the use of synthetic leather on these is dispiriting ...

THAT BIG *** "BANNED" ON THE OUTSOLE IS WACK AF. It's bad enough this is like the 4th or 5th iteration of the "new and improved AJ1," but to so animatedly lean on a shortsighted nba policy and subsequent marketing gimmick from three decades ago :smh: ...

HOPEFULLY, the shoe can be salvaged through variations in the upper patterns and logo placement, as we've seen with the xx8's and xx9s recently and other remixes like .5s and SEs through the years. Wrap the old wings logo- or even the new version we saw in the early leak - around the heel counter like the XXXs, or maybe just move the Jumpman there...

AND if we can't get that, throw em up on NIKEid with as many color options as the 1s had back in 85 :nerd: ...

OVERALL, IMO, this model, looks-wise, from what has been seen thus far, zigged with the zigs - where traditionally we could expect the new Air Jordan to zag. The shoe "fits in" with the current design vernacular of the basketball shoe market and does its best attempt at standing out with an obnoxious utilization of co-branding. Nonetheless, aesthetics aside :rolleyes, you have to consider the shoe a success in terms of pushing innovation with the refinements to the tech that went into it. Ultimately, I'm sure I'll own a pair.

they should have made the jumpmansame color as the upper made the swoosh 3m but same color as the upper

I just watched the replay of the stream on youtube. Wow, that was terrible. There's no flow and rhythm to the segment.

I was really surprise by the fact they (JB) didn't emphasize cushion setup enough. I looked at the sketches and it seems like the flightspeed is only 3/4 the length of the shoe. And it's placed more towards the front of the sneaker. I now understand why the designer said it should feel like unlocked zoom in the front and just regular zoom air cushion in the heel.

Anyway, the sneaker itself looks good, I can't wait for other creative designs/colorways aside from the three already shown.

Well it does have a wing logo but its on the other side of the heel, i may or may not copped this....
Where did you find this pic? It's the only pic I've seen with a wings logo. On the Nike news site, it read the following

The shoe’s first-of-its-kind Flyweave and leather upper incorporates a number of iconic Jordan elements, reintroducing the original Air Jordan “Wings” logo and a subtle Swoosh — not seen on a Jordan shoe since the Air Jordan I and the first time it has appeared alongside a Jumpman logo. And in its launch colorway the Air Jordan XXXI pays homage to the “banned” story.

I just have not see any pictures that show such wings logo until this one. Can anybody confirm if there is indeed a wings logo on these?

It's odd, I like many of the pre-13 models, but I was a teen then, so I'm probably on old guy here. Didn't care for many of the models until 29. I have 29 and 30 now as well. These BREDs actually look kinda cool to me. But the wings logo would indeed be a cool touch.

I think it is much better and can be called a true tribute to the Banned 1's. I wish they do it like this though.........

Repped!

Just a small tweak and it made the Shoes Awesome! This is like the style of JCrossover 2 of Brand Black,

Flyknit on the Toe

Leather for support on the Heel

But damn that big jumpman made it look bad! They should have seen this just a subtle air jordan wing is enough

Jordan logo needs to more subtle. Too much stuff going on, but I bet a white and black version with gold accents would look better.

We could see the Wings on the Olympic pairs in the pics from earlier this week.

Just found them here too, so it is indeed in the inside of the heel
