So today in the adidas ultra boost thread some members asked me to post stories from sneaker campouts so i decided to post one. I have more but only did one for now. If anyone has any other stories feel free to post. Anyways, here you go:

so a shop is dropping monochromes Saturday fcfs. the night before I call a guy I know whos in the area and wants the kicks, I ask him to check the store to see if anyones there. he goes and calls me, says no one is there so I tell him aight, ima grab two chairs and head over there, youre #1 and im second. I get there and shortly after a next dude comes and asks if its just us two. I tell him yes and we proceed to camp all night, im sleeping in my buddies whip. Morning comes and store opens at 12, so around 7 some guy with a list comes along and says its three people ahead, and im like hell no it aint. Dude tries to finagle that and i don't budge, but the #1 guy starts talking to others in line like its cool or whatever. so 11 comes, the store opens at 12 and the line starts getting a little crowded and dudes are bunched up. Mostly everyone knows each other so It aint serious until the manager comes out and shouts only 10 pair in there. Everyone starts wylin out and pushing or whatever and some cat in line proceeds to grab #1 by the shoulders, pull him around behind him and throw his *** off the line, word to debo. Im standing there wondering what the **** just happened and I get a little crazy and start pulling on the door and get up in that store. everyone is in the store and employees say everyone gotta get out or else they wont sell nothing, so eventually everyone backs up a little and in a few minutes they proceed to sell the shoes. so while im in there buying my kicks my boys who just came through tell me this guy who was #1 is complaining about being thrown off the line outside the store while everyone else is trying to buy kicks. One of my homies tells his *** to get up in that line to get his kicks since hes been there since the day before so he goes in line and finally gets in. they tell him they got two more pairs and take him to the register, only to tell him sold out. So that's how you go from #1 to 0 in line.

Got a ton more stories but ill save those for another time. might have to polish this story up and put more details and make it a newspaper article  :smh:

If I have to wait more than 20-30mins for shoes I'm not copping, it ain't even close to that serious to be sleeping outside no store or pushing and shoving over some damn sneakers.

i respect that, but for me it is that serious. I actually enjoy sitting in front of a store by myself rather then socializing with other people in a social environment. That's just me

I camped out for the End Yeezy release, got the email late and sold out. Never again, crazy.

are you talking about camping on a computer or in front of a store? I'm talking about store lines not Internet stuff

you're both new yorkers stuck in the early 2000's

*kanyeshrug*

i don't play that, when I'm out there I'm out there, usually don't even bring a chair with me

Only asking 'cause over here, people will just leave out their chairs and show up an hour or so before release.

Wondering if people ghost chair anywhere else and if people let that slide...

happens occasionally, but if I'm waiting all night and someone just left a chair they ain't going in before me. Now if they are sleeping in their car or are near a restaurant or something that's different. Now if someone lives right across the street from the store you're kinda assed out in that regard , but they still gotta make appearances once in a while

Bruh WHY?

:x camping out in NY is degrading, bunch of snobs and scumbags trying to get ahead....then you have to deal with the weird wether, in the summer you are out there practically catching a heat stroke in the winter you are out there asking for a pneumonia...all for kicks that more than likely will end up getting 1-2 wears every other month....any collecting hobby that requires that much work is just not for me anymore...that's why I moved on to toys...hype there is real too but at least I can deal with it from the comfort of my computer.

The one and only time I waited in line for about 2 hours was for the Hare 7's I believe...I struck out, but crossed the street and copped the CheechNChong 4/20 SBs remember seeing dudes that had been there for 8 hours since like 2am my dudes with BABY STROLLERS!!!!!! With toddlers in them....what type of world is this!

it aint degrading to me, I enjoy the sneaker scene in ny up until it gets too crazy. Then I don't enjoy it, but gotta deal with it to get my kicks. It's just like anything else in life, cats are always trying to get ahead and if you let them they'll always take advantage.

Never understood camping out for sneakers. I've never seen someone wear Jordans outside of sports activities in my country, much less camp out infront of a store to buy them.
