Supplied PDX busted in Nike counterfeit ring

That's why when I strike out on a shoe I just leave it alone. If I don't get it from a legit site, I'm done.

Ninja have you changed you opinion on grey market shoes? I remember before you departure you were under the impression that they were the same as legit shoes. I also used to think the same but have since changed my opinion with everything that's come out over the years.

Da quote sums up what it is.

products are made from real or potentially stolen components outside of authorized Nike factories

Depends how much of a boyscout you are is.

Do you feel bad coppin **** from a booster?

Cuz essentially thats what it is, coppin ill gotten goods.

Actual fakes and grey markets was always where i felt there needed to be nuanced explanation.

I think thats a fair assessment.

If "components" are stolen it maybe SOME machinery or SOME tooling but these fake factories aren't making true grey market shoes.

Damn, I used to subscribe to his YouTube channel to see videos of new releases. Scumbag.

I sold James a pair of authentic foams a few months ago. Didn't know of supplied before then. I wonder what he did with those. Fraud probably used them for pics/vids and send his customers the grey markets.smh

I'd argue its a case by case basis.

When these bandits retroed XVII's whole cloth complete with da CD and case i knew it was straight stolen property deal.

There's no way to duplicate that type of sophistication without plundering authorized factories.

Then there's complete rogue facilities that were once legit and go off on their own and since China's IP laws are laughable its done brazenly.

Like i said, its all illegal when you get down to it, but just cuz its illegal dont make it initally fake per say..too many factors involved for it to be that black & white.

Grey markets are fake, they are nothing but high quality fakes that aren't a lot of times 98% exact in terms of look, and quality. Still off and made in some factory in China with mostly inferior materials

I've seen them in hand for the most part, not recently tho. Fakes probably got better but they are fake. Don't care what ninja says. He's called them basically legit for a long time and he's entitled to his opinion

I sorta remember the grey market thread. Some dude was supposed to buy some and post pics. Did that ever happen?

Except

The investigation started March 5 when Nike revealed its private team of specialized investigators conducted a “discreet” probe According to investigators“grey-market” products are made from real or potentially stolen components outside of authorized Nike factories.

Nike itself is telling whats going on..straight from da Horse's mouth.

Things i been telling ya this for years.

They're still fake, if Nike doesn't authorize it, it ain't the genuine article.

This isn't a car where you can buy factory OEM parts and bring a classic back to its original glory.

If Nike themselves didn't authorize the production of these grey market sneakers, they're fake.

They even hired a special team of investigators to handle the matter. That should tell you everything you need to know.

I said it in the early release thread and the SneakGeekz thread I made, and I'll say it again, grey market sneakers are fake.
